Grin at Musical.

Come on Solars and Sunbeam!

DinoSnores · 25/02/2014 14:13

pomme, I've been thinking exactly the same as musical! Having thought of you only as pomme for a long time, I can't remember what your username was before because it doesn't look quite right now! Grin

Hopefully solars is too busy with all her lovely newborn snuggles to update but I hope she returns soon to give us all the news!

Checking for updates. Hope to hear of snuggly newborns soon. xxx

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 25/02/2014 20:16

M just went to bed without bf for the first time ever! Wrapped her in blanket, asked her for a big kiss, put her in bed. She started crying and sat up, so I sang Twinkle Twinkle and laid her back down. She carried on crying, so I patted her and left, and she stopped crying and went to sleep!!! Am Shock that it was so easy. This is phase 1 in stopping bf before DC3 comes along. Next phase is no more 5am bf in bed. DH is going to get her if she cries and she can sleep on him instead. Then it's just me being firm about no random daytime feeds. I'm going away for the weekend without her so am hoping some concerted effort this week will mark the end to it. I wouldn't mind it so much, but she chewing me slightly and my nipples are getting scabby for the first time since she was newborn, plus she likes to stick her hand out when she's feeding, grab the free nipple and knead it like a cat, with fingernails. It's really sore! So this is the end. She'll be 2 in less than 2 weeks, so we haven't done too badly.

musicalmrs · 25/02/2014 20:35

Ah, pomme, all is right with the world again Grin

Hoping you're enjoying some snuggles Solars!

Too, glad bedtime without bf went well! DH had to handle DD's when we stopped - she was absolutely fine with him, but just wanted the routine with me. Can't remember how we got through not having the night feeds - but because we had to stop due to illness not choice, the first couple of nights may have been hard but mentally I've added that up to her being ill, not stopping bfing!

Still really miss it though...

Made the mistake of putting on Up earlier, hoping it would enthrall the cold-filled DD who would watch quietly, while I could have a sneaky nap while cuddling her. Mistake. Spent the whole thirty minutes sobbing (while DD watched happily). There should be a warning on such things for pregnant women!

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 25/02/2014 22:53

Oh, Musical, Up makes me howl every time! When Ellie can't have babies...and then when she falls climbing the hill! Sad Sad

musicalmrs · 25/02/2014 23:35

And when she dies Too, and every time he looks over at her picture... or talks to her... or finds the adventures book.. or sees her hand print on the mail box...

Blubbering wreck!

DinoSnores · 26/02/2014 12:33

Was that really all it was, pomme? Just the capital letter? I'd been thinking you were pommedeSomethingelse and I had just forgotten!

Lots of scan appointments arrived today, so got one at 11 weeks, 15 weeks (early anomaly scan), then 17 weeks (fetal echo by GOSH), so it looks like it will be busy if we get that far!

No news of sunbeam and solars yet?

pommedeterre · 26/02/2014 13:19

You're right dino - I was originally pommedeterre but changed it to pommedechocolate for Easter and then never changed back all through the brooking threads. I'm going with potato right now!

Lots of scan dates dino! Fingers crossed you breeze through them all.

I am really running out of patience for mine next week now.

musical and too - dd1 used to love Up but every time we watched it she made me explain the nursery painting/sadness in the doctors office/her dying. She cannot gloss over anything - my explanation of what happened to Nemo's mummy is still very unsatisfactory in her eyes.

I can't wait to hear about all the newborn cuddles!

A is two tomorrow!

pommedeterre · 26/02/2014 13:20

oo and too well done on the successful evening feed drop and getting to 2 year of bfing is amazing!!!

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 26/02/2014 14:20

Dino, glad to hear you are being looked after properly!

Oooh, happy birthday to A tomorrow, Pomme! What are you planning for it?

I managed not to bf M at 2.15am either! She went back to sleep for 30 mins despite being outraged that I wouldn't give her a boob, and then when she woke up again I sent DH in. However, when she woke at 6 I took her into bed and sleepily let her latch on - fail! Still, maybe I should drop one feed at a time and not all of them at once.

Have just been shopping for close friend's new baby. Baby Gap have the cutest Paddington bear stuff at the moment! Somehow a few items for M got included in my purchases, including a T-shirt saying 'Big Sister'. Ahem. Then I made the mistake of wandering around in the Women's section and then of going to Topshop, and all the new spring clothes are such pretty colours and I can't buy any of it! Everything in Topshop Maternity was black, whereas all the new season non-mat stuff is pretty pastel colours with lots of white.

pommedeterre · 26/02/2014 15:08

Im off the the GAP website now, sod the new business pitches! I don't ever like any maternity clothes if I'm honest, whatever the colour, Im thinking of drafting in some Italian advice this time!

I have to say, materialistic wally that I am, I would love to have a boy this time to have a go at blue/green for nursery and clothes. Shallow I know (and as a feministic not great I admit but I can't ever bring myself to dress baby girls in blue and green, massive fail).

A is having two parties tomorrow, one in the am when dd1 is at school and one in the pm with dd1's friends and their younger siblings. I'd like to go to Peppa Pig world at the weekend but think it might be a bit cold for it.

Anything you do at 6am doesn't count too - its a cruel time of not unreasonable for a child to get up but utterly unreasonable for the adult getting up with them!

Fox82 · 26/02/2014 18:29

Oooh I got a gap paddington "please look after this bear" baby grow Grin

Stacks · 26/02/2014 19:35

I'm going to have to go look at the gap website aren't I?

Had a midwife appointment today, all routine with nothing much to say. Heard the heartbeat nice and quickly, and strongly, which was nice. I feel quite bad that it's all so different the second time around. In some ways there didn't seem much point to this appointment - blood pressure, pee stick, whip out the tape measure and Doppler and you're on your way home. I did however get locked in the doctors surgery! They shut up for luck break while I was still in with the MW, so I got to the front door and couldn't get out. Found someone with a key after a short search though (followed the smell of coffee).

EverythingIsTicketyBoo · 27/02/2014 13:54

Still no news from Solars? Is anyone in touch with in RL? Need to know all about sunbeam.

Stacks · 27/02/2014 14:01

Not heard anything. I'm pretty sure she's on my fb too, and not seen any announcements there either. My induction was 2 days, and that was with them skipping a couple of stages.

NoMaybeAboutIt · 27/02/2014 15:33

I don't have her number Sad. I Facebook stalk her everyday Blush. She must be too wrapped up in the gorgeous sunbeam Wink

EverythingIsTicketyBoo · 27/02/2014 16:03

I too have been doing some mild stalking Blush

TheLittleFriend · 27/02/2014 16:48

Same here Blush
Smegs and I have met her, but I don't have any contact details.
Maybe no phone reception in hospital?

DinoSnores · 27/02/2014 17:10

With DD2, I wasn't induced until Day 4 of my admission so hopefully that's all that is happening. solars, we are brooking for you all! I've been stalking you as well!

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 27/02/2014 17:26

Are Solars' initials HP? I'm v confused about who is who on FB and I can't see the list on my phone.

Solars, also thinking of you and checking here and FB every hour or so!

EverythingIsTicketyBoo · 27/02/2014 17:28

Yes Too that's her :)

Brooking that you're far too wrapped up with snuggles :)

SweetieTime · 27/02/2014 19:34
