Maybe that sounds like a fantastic birth. I want one like that :)

I had my second sweep yesterday and I've lost lots of plug and mucous. Have had a few more pains but nothing has started. Midwife said I am 1-2cm and cervix is very favourable. So fingers crossed another sweep Friday will kick it all off.

Hope everyone else is well.

We have been sleeping awful here. Ds doesn't seem too happy with time changing and then is teething (I think) so he was up for a while just crying last night. Going to bed soon.

cartoontrickster · 01/04/2014 21:33

purple I could try. they just seem very long. but perhaps generally they aren't used in Moses baskets or something. I have one cheapy Tesco version which is smaller so I don't have a problem with too much excess bag.
woo pen sounds promising!

musicalmrs · 01/04/2014 22:43

Purple, no "I knew it!" responses yet, although I haven't told anyone I see on a really regular basis yet (we live quite a distance from family). Did you have any? DD has known from the start, she talks about the baby in mummy's tummy (thankfully she hasn't mentioned it when out with other people -did worry about that!), and if we ask where we saw the baby, she says "On the TV" (i.e. the ultrasound screen)! Very cute :)

All sounds promising Pen! Brooking lots for you.

GreenOlives · 02/04/2014 14:31

Maybe your birth story is amazing! Well done you Thanks Thanks Thanks That's exactly what I was aiming for with DS1 until his great big head and shoulders got in the way!! Wink And I love, love, love the name, DS1 was going to be called that if he'd been a girl and thw middle name you picked was on our shortlist both times! Grin

Solars · 03/04/2014 12:50

What a fabulous birth story Maybe I love it! Congratulations once again and enjoy those newborn snuggles, they really are precious!!

nolongerbumpieorlumpie · 04/04/2014 05:47

Oh maybe that sounds perfect. something in eye

cartoontrickster · 04/04/2014 09:08

bumpie! how are you and z?

pommedeterre · 04/04/2014 09:21

maybe - that's so lovely

purple - heehee to you hoping to be away for her birthday instead of having to do a party! It was a bit stressful but dd1 loved it so much it was worth it. Also helped us get to know some of her school friends and mums better given that we missed the first nursery year there.

Had midwife yesterday and had both girls. Had forgotten to do a wee pot so had to wee on a stick. Dd2 pulled the emergency cord whilst I was weeing so had the receptionist knocking at the door mid stream! Dd1 then got very worried about the Doppler/heartbeat noise, I think I'd assumed a bit too much that she knew what a heartbeat was!

Not the most relaxing appointment!

PurpleWithaMysteryBun · 04/04/2014 09:56

pomme dd started crying at the first mw appt I took her too, she couldn't understand any of it, she didn't want me lying on the bed thing and was not happy with the mw touching me. Was funny and unexpected!

I can't do the break I was hoping for over bday weekend! I think I would feel better if there was better venues locally :/ cheapest is £65 for 4hrs then food etc and it is only ok.. Softplay party is a min of £120 for 12 kids and most kids have been inviting the whole class to their parties and my house is too small. So not sure what to do.

music not really any I knew its.. Mostly incredulous shock as who needs a dc 3 when you already have a boy and a girl? Hmm Hmm Hmm
That and was it planned? Are you happy? Etc I have found it quite rude!

nolongerbumpieorlumpie · 04/04/2014 13:37

Helloooo sorry, I have been lurking but dealing with a couple of work issues despite being on ml! And a bit of pnd and reflux!! But we have turned a corner I hope! Except I just threw my toys out of the pram because the cleaner hasn't turned up and I feel a stupid spoilt fool!

I have been keeping up and I love the baby, bump and house news aswell!!

cartoontrickster · 05/04/2014 13:18

anyone got any thoughts on this. the last few nights N has been really arching his back and thrashing about in his sleep he manages to shoot himself right up the top of his Moses basket and let's out a scream but usually I'm able to move him back down without disturbing him. last night after the 2nd or 3rd time he woke himself up screaming like he was terrified and I had to feed him to resettle him this was around 2.30. he sleeps through the night usually the absolute earliest he will wake is 4am.
what's causing this behavior? I've tried to make sure he's not too hot/cold. last night used sheet and a blanket instead of a gro bag but he was worse. wind? we already give him infacol. nightmares? I have no idea.

keepitgoing · 05/04/2014 18:00

pretty sure they don't get nightmares yet trix. sounds like wind to me. poor thing.

pommedeterre · 05/04/2014 18:24

Arching back can be a reflux symptom but if he's fine apart from this probably not?

cartoontrickster · 05/04/2014 19:02

when do nightmares start? do babies dream?
Google tells me its wind too keep
pomm I've always thought when N brings up his milk it seems a lot but as I don't have anything to compare it to I can't be sure but I don't notice the other babies from my nct group bringing up so much but perhaps its because most are breastfed where as N is bottle. I've asked the health visitor before about reflux and colic when I've thought he's been suffering and she always says he's not.
ill try extra hard tonight to get all the wind up before I put him down and maybe some gripe water.
keep is S still in with you? are you weaning her? sorry can't remember how old she is!

keepitgoing · 05/04/2014 20:05

she's 5 months trix. yes she's in with me as we are deep in hellish sleep regression. waking every 90 mins. am shattered but somehow her little face in the morning makes it OK. Smile not starting weaning for another month. she is quite too happy with boob

musicalmrs · 05/04/2014 21:43

Cartoon, I'd say reflux personally, maybe wind. When DD used to do the same I'd do bicycle legs, keep her upright for longer after a feed before putting her down (although she always fed before sleeping, so depends if N does the same!), and tilted the moses basket slightly so her head was higher than her feet (think I used books under the mattress).

HVs aren't necessarily the best people to ask - some are wonderful but some aren't so helpful. Reflux is often worse, or more noticeable, at night, so hard for them to really assess it properly.

If you're really worried about it see your GP - they might be able to suggest something (but again, it depends on how useful your GP is).

It could also just be a 'new' phase for him and a new routine - just because he usually wakes after 4 doesn't mean he will forever. Although you could be one of the lucky ones Wink.

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 05/04/2014 22:53

Hello all! I have been reading but it's hard to type on a tablet and it is equally hard to prise the laptop from DH's clutches, hence the lack of posts.

First of all, Maybe, congratulations! Little AA is adorable and your birth sounds lovely. So pleased it all went well. How's feeding going?

Bumpie, are you doing ok? PND and reflux sound like a horrific combination. Sad I'm not sure about the PND but there are lots of ladies on the FB page with heaps of experience with refluxy babies who might be able to suggest things you haven't tried. I would also be annoyed if the cleaner didn't turn up - you are not spoilt at all! oh how I dream of a cleaner!

Trix, not sure...reflux/wind sound most likely but I really have no idea when nightmares might start. Brew , sympathy and matchsticks for eyelids until it passes. In fact, o lovely Brookers: This Too Shall Pass. Anyone else remember that phrase from the olden Brooker days?

Pen last posted on the 1st and it's now evening of the 5th...do you think we should start hanging bunting and cracking open the non-alcoholic champagne?

Nowt happening here...time is dragging. I'm sure I should be further along than 24+3! Only another 13 weeks and 4 days (give or take) to go... Wolfie is growing normally, kicking away etc, no problems to report - my hips/pelvis are going through a good phase, which means I'm still a bit hobbly but not nearly as bad, weirdly, as when I was 18-20 weeks. Slightly worried by my inability to find a boy's name that I even remotely like apart from Wolfie, but I do have ages yet so it's not too urgent. I would feel better if there were 3 names I really loved and I couldn't choose between them, though, rather than a complete feeling of meh about any boy's name ever.

cartoontrickster · 06/04/2014 07:45

this post may be in bits if I get interrupted/forget things!
keep does she nap well in the day? are you able to sleep then. I can't imagine how tired you are! how long have nights been like that for?
oooooo do we think pens had the baby!
argh can't remember who said what so sorry no names will be used!
our hv seems to be more interested in my mental health than how N is getting on, she's not bothered me for a while now though so hopefully she is satisfied I'm not a nutter.
I remembered about tilting the Moses basket last night and that helped a lot, he only woke me once thrashing about and didn't manage to climb up the basket so I left him and he settled back down. he slept through until 6:30. so I guess I will see how it goessz

cartoontrickster · 06/04/2014 07:49

argh posted too soon
too I like wolfie!
right time to get showered I guess. its a horrible grey rainy day here.
Brew

Stacks · 06/04/2014 13:28

Quick post before I try and get time to read back. Hit a wall of tired this last week.

ThedementedPenguin · 06/04/2014 21:06

Sorry people no baby here yet.

Had my show last week, and been having a few pains and tightenings over the weekend but nothing else has happened. Going for sweep number 4 tomorrow, then going to go for a massive walk after. Hopefully it will get everything started.

We are a step closer to deciding a name but not quite there yet. I've repacked my hospital bag about 100 times, and have yet to pack underpants as I can't find the ones I bought for it, fingers crossed I find them before anything starts.

I have my induction and all booked so have my deadline, just hoping I go myself before then.

Hope everyone is keeping well.

Going to have a proper catch up of thread now.

keepitgoing · 07/04/2014 08:50

oh pen I was getting excited for you thinking you were snuggling...

trix gradually worse over the last month. she does nap in the day but not reliably long for me to bother sleeping. I do rest though.

cartoontrickster · 07/04/2014 09:44

oh poor u keep I know what you mean about the naps N is very much like that. I'm so grateful he sleeps at night.

pommedeterre · 08/04/2014 07:53

too - wolfie's pretty cool! We found out yesterday we're having a boy so we'll have had the same two girls and a boy combo as you. Names wise that's much easier as we have a boys name but had no idea about a third girls name.

Brooking for you pen

PurpleWithaMysteryBun · 08/04/2014 09:30

Wow Pomme! Is DH happy?
too I like Wolfie, don't see why you can't use it :)
pen this last bit is always so hard, I really hope baby comes soon for
you.

I think I have settled in a boys name for the minute! I like Finnian, have ages to decide though. I know dream liked this name so I hope she won't mind me pinching it if I do :/

Oops got to go! Catch up soon
