It was me felix! I'm glad it helped :)

i also just washed Henry alone today too! In the bathroom sink. It went well

enormouse · 06/02/2014 17:51

Finally got DS1 to eat something. Am so relieved. He's been off colour for a few days and hasn't been interested in eating at all (even chocolate cake and shortbread have been refused). But he's just eaten a big bowl of brocolli soup and quite a bit of cheese on toast. I'm hoping this means he's on the improve. He's now snuggled up next to me with Cal in his bouncy chair, watching Dr who (again). Smile

Oh, Cals hearing test needs to be repeated too. Wasn't on the ward long enough to get it redone. pidgy I thought it was a seperate HCP who does it, can HVs do it?

BuntCadger · 06/02/2014 18:52

Long day here where all 4 kids seemed to need me all at same time. thankfully dh got home about 40 min ago so he's bathing 2 exile I settle Zachary and eldest is doing homework. how the heck do single parents manage?

BuntCadger · 06/02/2014 18:55

We had heating test today and he wouldn't have the right ear done so had to have the brain activity test with the stickers.on his head, neck. and shoulders and earphones. All was ok

Hello all,

Ah bunt the joys of parenthood with many children, I have also been learning to juggle the needs of 3 children. I am re-learning the skills of one-handed bottom wiping and toddler-taming while simultaneously feeding a newborn.

Dd1 had to have a second hearing test done at the hospital due to failing it in one ear in the post-natal ward, it was clear. They told me it was because she had fluid in the ear which is more common in babies born by c-section. The fluid doesn't get squeezed out as their heads do not get compressed coming through the birth canal.

felix hope your DH has bucked up his ideas.

Just had my 6 week post-natal check at the hospital today and all is well so I have been discharged as an outpatient now.

MrsVDB · 06/02/2014 23:19

Henry also had the hearing test repeated as failed one ear. It was suggested to make sure he sleeps on the good ear to give the other ear time to dry out. I did that over night and he passed the next day.

Great news another

Good luck angel and anyone else still waiting

Breast feeding support lady came around today and I've managed to express 190ml so far so feeling much more positive as he still won't take my boob. Hadnt realised how much they are supposed to have. Due to his size Henry should have 700ml a day. Today he's had about 70 and that's with me waking him every 3 hours for an expressed bottle. No dirty nappies (2 wet) so he's definitely not getting enough. Midwife is calling tomorrow to check if there's been a dirty nappy so hoping we get one overnight.

Pidgy · 07/02/2014 01:59

Thanks for the reassurances. They did the hearing test twice and both times it said 'no clear reading' for the right ear so now we've got to have the next test with the sticky pads. Not too worried as left ear was perfect and I know she can hear. Just hoping it is fluid or wax. She has a cold at the moment too which can affect it.

Hi guys - still here! Sorry for silence... I'm now 10 days overdue, and coupled with the polymorphic eruption of pregnancy (what a a STUPID name!) I'm feeling sorry for myself, so didn't want to subject you all to my self pitying whinging, thought it was better to shut up! Thank you Space for checking - all okay here, just feeling boringly sorry for myself.

Enjoying reading all your newborn experiences and learning lots which hopefully will help when baby deigns to make an appearance... Off to hospital this morning to have an examination (first internal - eek) and discuss options. Had been dead against induction; but am so OVER being pregnant now I'm tempted to take anything they can offer me!

Angelesque · 07/02/2014 07:38

...and thank you MrsVDB too - and congrats! Off tO coo over pic on FB #ears Grin

TobyLerone · 07/02/2014 08:07

Good luck today, Angel!

MerryPops · 07/02/2014 08:26

Yes good luck Angel

Think it's about time I joined the Facebook group, can someone send me link please?

Xander had a decent night thanks to the wonder of Infacol. Plus my milk finally came in yesterday, talk about robo-boobs!

enormouse · 07/02/2014 09:23

Could I have the fb link too?

Cal woke up every hour from 4 onwards. I feel ever so slightly spaced out. Luckily DS1 has slept in. I could hear him coughing last night, poor little guy.

Cal asleep again now, so I can have a cup of tea and watch Frasier.

Best of luck angel.

Felix90 · 07/02/2014 09:32

MerryPops · 07/02/2014 10:28

Sent you a message Felix, thanks.

Lol at the typo we all have birth on the brain Smile

flyawayblue · 07/02/2014 10:33

Morning all and good luck angel, please rant / moan here we've all done in Smile

Had a good night and have now managed to exclusively bf for 3 days, feeling a bit happier about that as Alice does have tt and cuts off the blood supply to my nipples some times.

I'm off to mau this morning (if I make it out the flat) as my cs scar is very sore and parts hard to the touch. Sure it's nothing but the community mw asked me to get out checked.

MrsVDB · 07/02/2014 11:15

Good luck angel won't be much longer now :)

Swannykazoo · 07/02/2014 11:25

Any BFers got a baby doing pesto poo? Its been pretty consistent for about 5 days with a more windy baby. I thought it was 6 week growth spurt but now I'm worried its either me swapping sides too much or to do with the massive cheddar consumption this week or just one of those things that will pass.....Going to try to remember to start with the same side if poss but worried I'll dent my supply and also worried about the reblochon I bought to make tartiflette at the weekend with mmmm

TobyLerone · 07/02/2014 11:45

No.pesto here. I've heard that green = too much foremilk. I'm just here for the tartiflette.

Angelesque · 07/02/2014 12:58

Hi - back from hospital. Quite a good result - despite no real labour signs I'm almost 100% effaced and dilated 1-2 cm so sounds like baby is ready to come. Had a sweep which is already making me a bit cramps. Was also monitored for 20 mins and am apparently contracting already although I can't feel them - hooray! They're a bit bothered about my blood pressure due to protein in my urine which I think is due to me giving the worst tiniest urine sample ever but hopefully it won't develop into anything.

Booked in for Monday induction but I'm really hoping we won't get to that point - really hoping to have baby over the weekend. Feeling so much happier about the whole thing!

I'm intrigued by "pesto poo" - good job I'm not having pesto for lunch!

Mythreeknights · 07/02/2014 13:08

Good luck angel you have been v v patient. Fingers x for a quick birth for you x x

Swannykazoo · 07/02/2014 13:12

Thanks Toby- I think I've been misinterpreting Hugh's signals and swapping too much. Just when I thought it was getting easier. Still, all good for weekend tartiflette on thr positive side!

Felix90 · 07/02/2014 13:16

Angel that's great news! Hope the sweep works Smile

MrsVDB · 07/02/2014 13:16

Great news angel sounds like your well on the way :)

We've had dirty and wet nappies yeay! (Not sure I would ever thought I'd he happy about that!!) so just hoping he hasn't lost too much weight when mw weighs him tomorrow as really don't want to be back in hospital
