Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Not properly caught up, just wanted to make sure people knew i wasn't feckless.

the money from dh's dad went into a bank account we don't really use. So i didn't know he'd transferred it, so i asked mom. So the money overlapped. And she said not to give it back. So that's why we're having a takeaway.

just so no one thinks "eh? She didn't have money for milk but she can have a takeaway?"

maybe overthinking this

MrsVDB · 24/02/2014 14:28

pidgy that's really interesting about expressing. The last couple of days I do feel its getting harder and boobs aren't sore when I'm due to express. Might have to keep trying to get him latched on

frying I'm sure noone thought bad of you! Enjoy :)

curlywurlyllass · 24/02/2014 14:30

Ikea malm=lots of bruises! DP had the low double one, we bought a higher king size one and I hate it but it's so comfy it was awful after the EMCS
Currently I'm sporting 5 bruises and a stubbed toe from it

We had our official 6week check from the HV today, at age 10weeks. It's strange how they go by due date and not actual age! James is now 11.9lbs! Packed away all the newborn clothes yesterday, he is swamped in 0-3months but is too big for newborn now.Growing up so fast

Hope those little cherubstiny bastards start sleeping better soon, mine is still up every 3-4hrs for a grumble and milk. I miss sleep!

MrsV thinking of you. I went thru hell with my ex before he was diagnosed bipolar a few years ago. I hope your man can accept help

TobyLerone · 24/02/2014 15:13

frying, you're definitely overthinking it! I know how that feels. And it's not like you have no money coming in for the foreseeable future. It's just a temporary cashflow issue. We've all been there. And now it's resolved, you offered your mum the money back, you can enjoy your takeaway with a clear conscience :)

How are things, MrsV?

Felix90 · 24/02/2014 16:50

Toby & fly, I'm with you both on that. I moved to leeds a couple of years ago and really struggled to make friends. I have no one here at all except DP and I'm starting to find it very lonely now I'm not at work. Hopefully when I've learnt to drive I can go back home more often and see my friends and sister. There's not really any baby groups round here, it's all toddler type stuff so I don't know where I'll meet anyone Sad plus I'm a bit awkward around new people too so they will all think I'm an odd ball anyway haha! The ladies from my NCT class are nice and keep arranging meet ups but I can't get there unless I take at least 2 buses, and I'm worried they will stop inviting me if i can't go. May just bite the bullet next time and pay for a taxi.

Pidgy I agree with the expressing thing. When I stopped bf and tried to express, it was fine at first but then my supply dramatically dropped overnight and within 2/3 days I could only express 2oz over the day which is hardly anything. I've completely stopped now as it wasnt worth it.

Frying you are over thinking! I was thinking how lovely it was of your FIL to give you a nice night in Smile don't worry!

Curly we have just been to our check too. Sylvie is 11lb 13 and is bursting out of her 0-3 months stuff now Shock

Just got back from the doctors and Sylvie has had her first injections. The nurse who does them is ace, I love her. She cried like it was the worst thing ever but then settled straight away on the walk home. Then when we got home I put her in her bouncy chair picked up a bottle off the table and the coaster stuck to the bottom of the bottle then fell and smacked her in the head. Poor sod Sad I felt awful!!!

Swannykazoo · 24/02/2014 17:04

Anyone else's baby beat them up? If I try to get Hugh to latch and that's not what he was crying for I get bashed with baby fists. Also get bashed/scratched if the milk is slow (at least I think that's what's going on) I feel a bit like Joyce Grenville saying brightly "that's not nice dear"

TobyLerone · 24/02/2014 17:07

Meredith punches me in the boob to wake me up if she's in bed with us.

Felix90 · 24/02/2014 17:10

Toby Grin

I get head butted about 5 times a day if that helps. Love it when she gets me in the teeth.

BookTart · 24/02/2014 17:28

Yeah, Persephone is going to break my collarbone with her headbutting one day. To make up for it, she punches herself in the face several times a day. And then cries Confused

Bit of a sad day today, as a good friend died this morning. She'd been ill for a year, but was only 41. Still a shock though. Her poor DS is only 3 :( She never got to meet DD, but she set me up with DH so I have her to thank for my lovely little girl. Sometimes life is an utter bastard, isn't it?

Couldn't decide which formula to get, so have been feeding all afternoon again. Spoke to a breastfeeding supporter at baby group this morning, and she reckons 6 week growth spurt combined with having a little, clingy baby. I'm not sure about the growth spurt bit, but do think a lot of our problems are to do with Percy just being a little baby and all that 4th trimester stuff, so things will gradually get better I think.

toby, once your DH is back at work we can always hit up Bumps & Babies or Rhyme Time or something #hardcore

TobyLerone · 24/02/2014 17:50

I do think Meredith is/has been having a growth spurt the past few days, book, so it's possible Percy might be too. Sounds like you're feeling a little more positive, at least. I'm sorry to hear about your friend, though :(
Yeah, we can totes hit up the baby groups or John Lewis café for free cake next week :o

fryingpantoface · 24/02/2014 18:00

Manchester area mums, i live in Horwich/Bolton way so if anyone fancies meeting up we could do it? It would have to be public transportation to get there as i don't drive, but I'm happy to travel. Can palm toddler off on mil for a day of being spoilt if need be?

TobyLerone · 24/02/2014 18:48

I'm taking Meredith to the Sure Start thingy to be weighed tomorrow. I reckon 10 1/2 lbs. She feels super heavy now!

MrsVDB · 24/02/2014 19:07

toby that's Henry's birth weight ha ha

TobyLerone · 24/02/2014 19:41

Ha! She was only 6.10 at birth so it feels huge for her. She was lying on my belly today and DH and I were reminiscing a bit about when she was still on the inside and I said that people have babies this big. We couldn't believe a baby her size would fit in there!

MrsVDB · 24/02/2014 20:14

Neither could I toby! Especially as I'm only 5' 3"

TobyLerone · 24/02/2014 20:17

Me too :D

Felix90 · 25/02/2014 03:47

So after accidentally dropping a coaster on Sylvie's head yesterday afternoon, I've just sealed my nomination for mother of the year award.

Woke up at 3.30 for a feed. Grabbed a bottle and took the lid off ready to for her. Left Sylvie laid next to me in the cocoonababy and go to put the teat in her mouth as normal and a waterfall of ice cold milk splashes all over her face and chest! Had a serious WTF moment before realising I had unscrewed the whole teat from the bottle rather than just the lid!

So essentially I've just lobbed a bottle of milk in my babies face Shock

I took her from her bed and undressed her and she looked up at me and wouldn't stop smiling. She's so adorable and doesn't care that I'm a moron.

Angelesque · 25/02/2014 04:04

Felix I love how she just smiled at you - so cute!

TobyLerone · 25/02/2014 05:01

Aw, felix :) Bless her for letting you know she loves you anyway!

Meredith woke up for her 4am poo in the loveliest mood. All smiles and cooing and big eyes. Adorable, but it's 4am! I'm currently trying to persuade her to sleep with my magical boobs.

Angelesque · 25/02/2014 07:24

Toby magical boobs eh... Would be good if it meant they worked like a magic wand, I.e. you just waved them over DC... And job done!

TobyLerone · 25/02/2014 07:41

:o

fryingpantoface · 25/02/2014 08:22

Take away was lovely, Henry was the unputdownable baby so we co-slept. Well, he slept, i just dozed. So I'm tired.

we have our 6 week check today at almost seven weeks. That was just how the apt fell. I get to ask if it's normal for me to have had diahorrea pretty much constantly since Henry was born, all except about 5 poos. Sorry about the tmi. I'm also going to ask him to do my bloods again to check my thyroid as that was iffy while pregnant

Naturegirl82 · 25/02/2014 08:38

Mega poonami here this morning followed by a wee on the changing table! Looks like I'll be doing some washing today. On the plus side I'm now up so may make it to the breastfeeding cafe today.

flyawayblue · 25/02/2014 10:06

Glad the takeaway was nice frying, you inspired me so we had takeaway pizza lastnight.

Could u just say Ugh! Alice won't go more than an hour and a half during the day and screams in pain 45 mins to an hour after feeding. Cue lots of walks and cuddles but it's getting to me. I want our happy sleepy baby back...

Angelesque · 25/02/2014 10:19

In my sleep-addled state I've just been most amused to see that if you mistype "breast feeding" and miss out the 'r' it becomes "beast feeding"... Ha ha ha!
