Hi
This is a thread for people due in October with past miscarriage issues, so we don't scare the 'regular' October people and we don't annoy the RM thread with our pregnancy talk...

Good news tum and junior re:scans. And great to be further than you have ever been before tum - that's a milestone!

So tired here these evenings, with background nausea a lot of the day. I guess the hormones are doing their work.

Booking appointment with midwife on Wednesday. I was really disappointed that she never even gave me a quick call after my last mc. And she had promised "fantastic support" following the previous one. I think it's really poor that you just fall off their list and they don't even think of checking how you are, or letting you know where you can go for support. Anyway, perhaps I am Expecting too much of the NHS?

fedup agree that cramping and stretching are not miles apart in how they feel. So is most likle stretching and accommodating that is going on!

bugs hard to think what you would do in the worse case scenario. I told hb that if I have an mc after 12 weeks again then that is the end of it. We will need to be happy with what we have. But it's hard to say, it took me 12 months to try after last mc. But at least things look good so far, so fingers crossed for all of us!

Goodbye tanny. Sending you a big hug and strength for whatever you decide next.xxx

JBrd · 24/02/2014 22:27

Great news tum! What a relief! It's so good to know that every time you have a good scan, the chances for a good outcome increases.

buggerlugs It is such a rollercoaster of emotions, every day throws something at you that you didn't expect. One step at a time, it's OK to feel scared and anxious, we all are. Keep talking about it, I think that's the most important bit. I for one am certainly hoping that it'll get easier with time...

tayto I think you might be expecting a bit too much from your midwife... I never had any follow-up from mine with any of my miscarriages, not even a call back when I had to leave a message to cancel my booking appointment. Sad, but if you think of it, it's not their 'territory'...

I've got my booking appointment tomorrow and just spent ages, filling in that flippin' form. For the 4th time. This better be it!
And now, I will go to bed, I have felt so sicky all day and am now quite fed up with it. I wasn't very friendly with DH on the phone earlier, when he was raving about how great the skiing is Angry I'm grateful for everything, but I'm not a saint!

Millysdream · 25/02/2014 06:48

tum great news! I am about a week ahead of you (12w2days). Have my scan tomorrow at 2pm. I hate afternoon scans as you have to wait so long but it will soon be here. Each scan is a milestone especially once you are past where you got to last time. 3mc all before 7 weeks. Am panicking about having a missed miscarriage but I guess I just need to get it together.
tayto I have never had a phone call from the midwife but I see your point. Feel like we need that extra support and although my hospital are good when I am there, emotionally we are all going through so much every day and we deserve a bit more :) that's my thoughts as well. My hospital weren't even going to give me a 12 week scan originally as we weren't going to have the Down syndrome check. It is only because we decided to have it that I am getting it. The consultant thought that because I was past where I had been previously that i was of no extra risk- not sure I feel like that though.

tanny wishing you lots of love and luck in the future xxcc

Thanks for the update!

Good grief I hate pink/red fluff. Some got onto my pad yes I am that superstitious I wear a pad to avoid tempting fate and scared me this morning. It was fluff.

fedupofrainydays · 25/02/2014 10:21

Feeling v sick today. Ugh. And had an irrational cry this morning when misinterpreted an email from colleague that she was pregnant and everyone knew except me (and she knows about my mcs but hadn't told me) but I was wrong!!

Anyway nervously adding my stats

Fedupofrainydays, 1DS oct 2011, 1 mmc at 12 weeks feb 2013, 1 mc at 5.5 wks dec 2013. EDD 14 Oct

would it be unreasonable to hop on a tube for two stations to go the the closest KFC at lunchtime?

Have a hankering for crap chicken and haven't been to a KFC in MONTHS...

I was up at 4:30 with a teething child who then fell asleep in my bed at 5h45 and my alarm went at 6h15 but i don't think i slept since 4:30 so that is my excuse

squiz I still wear pads, too! I have to monitor everything. My excuse is that the majority of my underwear is either black or too nice to get stained with brown gunk Grin

Tiny Sounds perfectly reasonable to me. Do they deliver? Wink

I am feeling really sick today, first time getting close to actually throwing up. I just wanted to crawl back to bed and stay there. Instead I had to chase a toddler that didn't want to get dressed. Now trying to muster the motivation to drink ginger tea (iew...). Not that ginger has ever helped me with ms.
This is very different from my pg with DS - I had just been made redundant when I found out I was pg, so I had the utter, total luxury of being at home during the first trimester, being able to crawl into bed whenever I wanted to.

Had my booking apt - this is going to be a very medically charged pregnancy, with lots of monitoring and appointments. Combination of being an oldie with RMC issues and history of DVT does that for you! But hey, whatever works. Will be seeing the gun consultant soon.
The midwife was lovely - she will try and get me another scan before the 12 week one.

I'm now looking into the Harmony test, v. tempted. Wondering if/how I can persuade DH to spend £400 on a blood test...

JBrd · 25/02/2014 12:02

gyn consultant, not gun!

Nausea has well and truly kicked in here. No sickness yet but I've already started on cyclizine. Luckily DH was at home this morning to look after ds.
I'm another who has scans in the afternoon as the rmc is only on a wed pm. My appt always seems to be 4pm Hmm

Thanks for the stats update tiny.

jbrd feedup and sweet you all sound like you are having a particularly rough time with nausea at the moment. Hope you got through the day ok and that it will not be so bad tomor. I find that a constant supply of small snacks helps, but then again I only have mild nausea, fatigue is the greater enemy here!

Welcome ldt, hope all is going well so far.

squiz red fluff avoidance - very funny. I Have had a few red fluff scares too. Must steer clear of red polo and pyjamas!

Booking appointment tomor, then appointment with consultant in a different location. Seems like overkill (saw him last wk) but I know I am really grateful for the special attention and work will need to wait.

Good luck with your scan milly!

Tumtimes1 · 26/02/2014 07:54

Good luck with your scan today Milly x

fedupofrainydays · 26/02/2014 11:58

Good luck milly

Having a fucking crap day. Everything is going wrong, team off work, forgot to pay parking (yet to see if have ticket), ds is ill, plus have cramps still. Please can I just go to sleep and wake up and everything is ok and I have my new baby in my arms?

Hi ladies,

12 week scan tomorrow. I am so nervous. MS is really bad today, was sick this morning and feel dreadful now. Am going to eat one of the 5 things I can actually stand and lay down for a few hours. At least scan is the morning first thing. So so scared. It could be all over tomorrow. But trying to remain positive!

Hope you are all well and good luck milly for today.

JBrd · 26/02/2014 14:12

Sorry to hear that you're having a bad day, fedup and bugs - sometimes, all you can do is go home and go to bed. Which is pretty much what I did yesterday... And even though I got more sleep last night, I am currently struggling to not nod off at my desk. I think I spent all my adrenaline last week, now I have nothing left to keep me going!

Good luck for your scan Milly

Nausea much better today, but I still have to make sure that I eat in regular intervals. I treated myself to some salted crisps at the hospital today, it was heaven Grin. I feel as if I'm constantly munching on something, I wonder how until someone here at work clocks what's going on...

Saw the haematologist this morning, nothing new - I'm continuing with the heparin and aspirin, the heparin dose will be increased from 20 weeks onwards.
My lovely midwife tried to get another scan for me at 10 weeks, but the EPU refused on the grounds that my last scan was good Angry Now I need to decide if I can cope waiting another 4 weeks or if I should get a private scan...Hmm
