Hi
This is a thread for people due in October with past miscarriage issues, so we don't scare the 'regular' October people and we don't annoy the RM thread with our pregnancy talk...

Thinking of you tiny.
Mine is on wed morning, and I'm terrified. But feeling a little positive as I'm feeling nauseous and constantly dizzy/light headed but we'll just have to wait and see.

JBrd · 17/02/2014 13:53

Good luck for your scans tiny and sweet Hope the time passes quickly for you until then.

My brown discharge seems to have stopped, also no cramping since yesterday... Feeling more positive today (although still walking on egg shells and constantly knicker-checking. I never knew how many shades of brown you could find in your cm...Confused), very apprehensive. DH is away next week, and I'm worried about what to do regarding an early scan - have it when he's away and then potentially having to face bad news on my own, or wait until he is back, i.e. 2 more weeks?! Argh.

fedupofrainydays · 17/02/2014 14:18

My scan is tomorrow too. I'm annoyed as my mum was like 'oh you will have to take time off work'. Well yes mum. They only offered me tues or thurs and I work both those days. She also banged on at me about getting a job that doesn't exist. Wish she lived in the real world sometimes.

Sounds like there is a few scans next day or so. Hope all good news! I feel mixed, positive one minute, negative the next. Mine is only really a location scan so not expecting to see much as only 6 weeks. Just hope it's all there in the right place!

mum2kiss · 17/02/2014 14:25

Hey all :) Sounds like everyone seems to be doing ok at the moment aside from the inevitable worry!

Not much going on here although the mild cramping and pink spotting seems to have stopped since friday. Its half term and I have the week off. I wonder if the generally relaxation from the routine and being able to slob around in comfortable clothing has helped! Really starting to think my work trousers were the source of the tummy pain.

we went over to dps parents for dinner on saturday and his dad poured me a glass of wine! (Awkward!!!). I just pretended to sip it for the toast and then left it on the table lol!

Tumtimes1 · 17/02/2014 14:38

Good luck Fedup and Tinytears for tomorrow's scans and Sweetpea* for wednesday.

xx

JBrd · 17/02/2014 17:26

I now have a scan on Saturday, gulp. Will be 7+6 then, so hopefully, it will be clear.

My lovely midwife called and immediately suggested that I should have one, I didn't even have to ask. She then called me back after 5 min to let me know the date and time.
Good timing, too - after thinking I'm OK now, I found red blood on the tissue after going for a wee. I swear my heart stopped Sad

mum2kiss · 17/02/2014 17:32

Great timing for the scan jbrd I'm sure everything is fine though, this whole spotting thing is just here to ensure we lose the final scraps of our sanity!

Tumtimes1 · 17/02/2014 20:21

Hello again, I have a quick questions: Does anyone recommend bothering with a doppler or will it just make me more insane and anxious that usual? I'm thinking the latter.

Also, I haven't got my booking in scan until the 4th March. Iroinically the same date AND TIME as my appointment at St Mary's RMC. I don't want to cancel RMC just in case. shall I call the booking in dept and ask to change it? Plus that booking in app is the 4th march when i would be exactly 12 weeks. Isn't that a bit late to see the mid wife? (My 12 week scan is on the 6th March so that sounds ok to me.)

juniorcakeoff · 17/02/2014 21:27

I debated a doppler loads in my last PG but I knew it wouldn't help me. Firstly, iin my pregnancy I lost baby had a heartbeat which was found with a doppler when my waters had already broken and she was already in trouble - medics took no action as a heartbeat was found, but had they scanned me they'd have found waters gone and partial abruption. The doppler just finds a heartbeat in that moment and on that date. Secondly, I knew there would be times I wouldn't find it or I would think it was fast or slow and spend hours googling average heart rates etc. Thirdly, it gives a false sense of security (see above). Baby movements are a better guide.

Having said all that, I am debating one again just for the bit up to when the baby starts moving because I am an idiot :)

Booking in - varies imo. Round here they tried to book me in at 6 weeks - Get lost, in my view I'm not even pregnant till I've seen a baby on a scan with a heartbeat! Where I used to live - booking in appointment after 12 week scan. Makes more sense to me.

SweetPeaPods · 17/02/2014 21:36

I debated a Doppler in last pg but I knew if I didn't hear a hb I would really worry. Labour/epu wards hate them. They say they cause more false alarms than actually picking up problems, some people pick up their own and think everything's ok, and it's movements we should be looking for. My last pg has anterior placenta too so my chances of getting hb even lower. Obviously until we get to that stage nothing we can really do. With regards to movements it's patterns they are looking for, not a certain number of kicks but has there been a change to usual pattern.

tannyLoo · 17/02/2014 22:16

Sorry everyone. Its finally started. MC number 5. Spotting and pain. Will hang around for a while just to make sure you're all ok.
Shitbuckets Sad

Millysdream · 18/02/2014 07:48

TinyTear · 18/02/2014 08:05

So sorry tanny
Big big hugs for you...

I have my scan in 2 hours... it will either be child 2 or mc 5

fedupofrainydays · 18/02/2014 08:13

Oh tanny I'm gutted for you too. Shit buckets. Hope you are ok. Mc 5 is scary and I so admire you for your strength to carry on. Although it prob just feels like the motions... Xxx

My scan is this pm and feeling sick with nerves (not Ms). Had horrid dream about it last night that I woke up in panic. Good luck tiny

SweetPeaPods · 18/02/2014 08:43

Tanny so sorry. Big hugs and hope you have lots of support around you.
Fedup & tiny good luck for scans, Fx for you both.

tannyLoo · 18/02/2014 08:57

Tiny and Fedup good luck with your scans. We need to hear about fluttering heartbeats...

Bleeding is heavier today. Staying put and watching reruns of star trek voyager. And killing teenage son if he doesn't tidy his pit.

This has been such a long time coming that now it's here I feel a mixture of heart thumping sadness and relief.

TinyTear · 18/02/2014 09:54

Heartbeat seen and measuring 6 and half weeks she said.

Will be scanned again in a couple of weeks. Still not in the clear but further than I've been with the other miscarriages.

OP posts:
JBrd · 18/02/2014 10:06

Great news, tiny! Small steps in the right direction - remember that with every good scan, your chances for a good outcome increases.

TaytoCrisp · 18/02/2014 10:12

Thinking of you tanny. Such a shame. Sending u a big hug.

Good luck with the scans sweet and fedup !

Scan at 2 today here and a bit nervous. I haven't been on the thread that much as have been trying to not think about the whole thing but getting anxious now. No heartbeat at 5+6 so today is important. Unfortunately had some bright blood this morn, but think it was (tmi alert!) rectal bleeding which can be associated with heparin...according to some websites anyway.. Embarrassing!

Hope everyone else is ok, and hope to hear some good scan outcomes later.

Oh - great news tiny - all sounds good so far. U can take out the pink lemonade after the 8 wk scan! ;-)

TinyTear · 18/02/2014 10:59

Good kuck tayto

I am still not in the clear...

Looked at my app where I was marking when we DTD and the dates she mentioned today seem possible. i think after the ERPC i wasn't as regular as before...

In 2 weeks I will actually be seen by the consultant and be scanned again. as i will most likely be consultant led if this goes ahead, I said yes to the consultant when they asked if I wanted the appointment just with the sonographer or the consultant

SweetPeaPods · 18/02/2014 13:20

Great news tiny.
Hopefully puts your mind at ease for a little while, or at least until 2mrw?
Last pg they scanned me every wk in first tri. It relaxed me for all of 24 hrs ha! Every thurs I was convinced the hb had stopped or something but thankfully everything was fine. We now have ds. I'm feeling very nervous about my scan 2mrw. Tempted to poas again this afternoon.

nearlyreadytopop · 18/02/2014 13:39

tanny I'm so sorry, its just utterly shit.
goodluck for all the scans today and tomorrow. This afternoon is not going quickly enough for me.
