Well... we're getting there at least, and definitely ready to meet the first thread baby!

We don't get tours now due to risk of infection apparently. I did with dd but now you have to watch an online video which isn't a great substitute but I understand the thinking behind not taking people into delivery wards etc until they need to be there.

Libee · 11/01/2014 10:27

Can I join in again please, haven't logged to MN for a while so have missed loads.

First of all massive congrats to Sunflowered and family for their arrival of little angel. I am so happy first baby in our thread am excited and nervous at the same time as it would any one of us next.

Like most if you I am also suffering from insomnia but so cold at night so don't bother to get up and just try to toss and turn which is a bit difficult at the moment as every time I move baby kicks in other words don't sleep left, right or lie on your back.

34-4 so still a looooooong way to go. Feels like the longest pregnancy ever even though it's my second.

Litleen sorry to hear about your mum but am glad that she is getting better

Will try and post regularly I I can

CubanoHabana · 11/01/2014 11:31

Aw bless, husband had hand on tummy this morning asleep and woke up to baby kicking, a little later he asked if baby was 'still going nuts'... My reply was along the lines of what do you mean going nuts? It was just moving a little bit... He was genuinely surprised, he hadn't realised that i feel that all the time, finally seemed to actually realise that when I say it's going nuts and hurting, that it must be bad!

To be fair on him, normally if he puts hands on, it stops moving all together, hoping this will happen after birth as well - baby is being twisty, hand to daddy and baby stops...?!

notoneforselfies · 11/01/2014 11:42

Oooh finally committed to a decision and just bought a changing bag. I'm very excited by this. I love eBay.

gnittinggnome · 11/01/2014 12:22

cubano my DH does this too - I say ooh quick, Bean's having a little shuffle and he will put his hand over it and go "wow, he's really going for it" when actually, erm, not really! Am at 37+6 now though, so there's not that much room, but every so often he'll see how far he can get his foot around my kidneys or something and that does take my breath away!

Littleen · 11/01/2014 12:30

Hehe.. Our baby also often stops when my OH puts his hand there! But if he keeps it there for a while, baby starts again, and then he's just sat there with a smile on his face. Pless him :)

bugsyburge · 11/01/2014 12:37

argh can't believe our first thread baby has arrived, lovely name!!!! congratulations to the sunflowered family Grin

right.... who's next?

Timpani · 11/01/2014 12:43

37 weeks today!

Congratulations sunflowered! I'm not on the FB group, how do I get on there? I barely post on MN - it's too much to keep up with haha.

Loads of heartburn here but ok otherwise. Bit worried that the only thing I've sorted is actually washing some clothes! No car seat located (it's somewhere!), no basket down from attic... Eek. DS was born just before due date so I probably should get a move on really!

Hope all's well with everyone. Sorry I'm not around much/following too well!

DawnOfTheDee · 11/01/2014 13:58

Timpani If you pm me your email address i can send you an invite to the fb group Smile

LittlePandaBear · 11/01/2014 19:42

Quiet here today!

Whoever starts the next thread could have the next baby as Sunflowered has started the tradition. Watch out.

Oh shite. WTF wasn't that a PM like it was supposed to be?!

notoneforselfies · 11/01/2014 19:53

Oops - you should report to MNHQ and ask them to delete it Timpani.

HarlemWobble · 11/01/2014 19:53

Congrats Sunflowered I can't believe we have our first baby!!!! Hope you're doing well and get to enjoy lovely baby cuddles soon.

We had our first NCT class today, an all day session so I'm pretty knackered now but I really enjoyed it. I think we have a great group of people which is a relief as my main motivation for signing up was to meet new people in the area.

I'm another one who will be trying to get the nursery done this weekend. In reality I think well just get the painting done tomorrow and the furniture assembled next weekend.

Almost forgot to say thanks for the mucous plug advice. Still not entirely sure what I was, but I haven't had any more so will happily stay in a cloud of blissful ignorance for now!

Notone what changing bag did you go for?

EeyoreIsh · 11/01/2014 19:57

oops timpani! If you report it MNHQ will delete.

sunflowered how are you and baby doing today?

It's been super quiet on this thread today! I've had a busy day, went for a lovely walk along the seafront, the weather was amazing Smile I'm now collapsed on the sofa, waiting for dinner.

We've got the car seat base in the car now, and we've had the buggy up. I can't take the carrycot off though, it's really annoying. I'm not sure if it's a fault or I just don't have the knack. DH can do it but with a struggle. It feels a bit real, especially as I'm 37 weeks tomorrow!

notoneforselfies · 11/01/2014 20:07

Got a pacapod Harlem. Got the two inside 'pods' (changing with mat and feeding) new from eBay and the bag itself second hand also from eBay - it's a posh leather one that normally goes for £225 (!!!!!Shock) but I got it for a tenner Grin The zip is broken but I found a place that'll replace that for a fiver. Very chuffed with myself.

LovesToBake · 11/01/2014 21:15

Notone that is seriously resourceful, very impressive! The thread has been super quiet today - we need another baby clearly!

EeyoreIsh · 11/01/2014 21:29

Maybe everyone is out having lots of fun before more babies arrive Grin

My little one is being very active tonight, bouncing about and kicking away. It's lovely but there's quite a lot of strength to the movements now Shock

winterflowers · 11/01/2014 21:50

Wow I can't imagine spending 200+ quid on a changing bag! I know we'll be attached to them for the next few years but still.. that is a lot of money...

My LO has been doing all kinds of weird stuff today, not kicks but lots of sticking her back out and things...really hope she isn't trying to xhange position now as she's perfectly placed...

ChocoFrog · 11/01/2014 21:51

Congratulations Sunflowered! So happy for you and your DH on the safe arrival of your gorgeous girl. Looking forward to pics and hope you got to see her today.

Wow it's all happening now. Next... Grin

notoneforselfies · 11/01/2014 21:52

I can't imagine spending that money on ANY bag let alone one that will inevitably store poo-ey nappies!
