Pinacolada I've sent you a message in hope it might help...thinking of you

Finnable · 29/12/2013 23:28

Good luck tomorrow Pina I'll be thinking about you!

Thanks to everyone sending me positive thoughts also. They're much appreciated!

Those discussing tea/schloer etc, Asda sell non-alcoholic wine, it's called "Fre" and it doesn't taste too bad, considering! I'm sure you can get it elsewhere too... if you can control the pouring of drinks in your own kitchen/oversized handbag/enlist someone to bartend for you, you can totally get away with pretending it's real Pinot!

I took a bottle of the fake-Merlot one to my breastfeeding friend t'other day, and she was very upset that she hadn't discovered it earlier!

HungryHorace · 30/12/2013 03:02

My DH found quite a nice non alcoholic rose wine for me last time. No idea what it's called though!

I've been drinking the non alcoholic Koppaberg over Christmas. It's really nice. :-)

Just had the wee or puke quandary in the bathroom. I just about managed to wee first. Thank god the bath is next to the loo in case I can't wait next time!

Catching up with the new thread, welcome to the newbies, and so sorry to those with bed news.

I am same weight as with DS1 & DS2 conception, could lose 1-2 stone, just would rather put on 2 than 3 stone this time. My tummy is also ruined.

DS2 was 10lb and got a little hypoglycaemic as the lazy midwives removed him for 6hrs in the night when I needed to feed him hourly. After emcs and pph I fell into a deep sleep but was happy to feed, and they couldn't be bothered keep coming hourly to pass him to me when he awoke. I was so angry with them. His head was on 99th and weight 90th. Now he is 95th height 75th weight, so just a big boy.

I do wonder if the extra weight I gained with him compared to DS1 made him that bit bigger. I also had a gallbladder issue then (undiagnosed) and craved a lot of sugar which hasn't happened this pregnancy.

My waistband is tight, so bought a lot of stuff in Next sale so colleagues don't recognise the maternity wardrobe too early. Will be looking at a good pregnancy exercise video as have quite a big separation following 2 pregnancies and the EMCS with the 2nd, want to try and keep my abdominals in better condition.

So agreed healthy baby is most important, but also acknowledge the fine line with weight gain. So will balance the two, and look out for more than an average of half a pound gain each week (1lb a week would be 40lb overall, 1/2lb would be 20lb for whole pregnancy).

Have a lovely Monday everyone x

I hadn't really thought about the weight gain thing, but I suspect that just shows me up as a newbie! Usually quite fit and healthy - I cycle everywhere and in the school holidays usually pick up running and the 30 day shred, but I think I'll just be cycling from now on and I might try to start swimming a bit (but to be honest I never lost weight from that). I might also look into pregnancy yoga classes as although I'm pretty fit I'm not supple at all. Anyone tried it before?

HungryHorace · 30/12/2013 07:48

Bunny, it sounds like our bodies are similar! If you find a decent exercise DVD let me know as I need to look after my separated abs too.

DD's head was 98th centile. I'm hoping DC2 isn't quite so large, but we shall see!

Feelingfatty · 30/12/2013 08:29

Eugh set my alarm to go to legs bums and tums... Weathers awful and I feel sick :( hi ho hi ho its to the gym i go HmmHmmHmm

mszeenwithabean · 30/12/2013 09:01

fatty well done with getting up to go gym.. lots of admiration for you.

halfpint I think supporting each other will be a great idea..I'm trying right now to eat little and often to combat morning sickness mostly but swap my usual crisps, biscuits and chocolate snacks for salad, soups and fruits.... It is hard as I've had a craving for fried chicken drumsticks Smile

bunny 20lb is a fantasticly healthy weight gain for both mother and baby... I'm going to look into yoga DVDs so if you get there before me be sure to link to it... Wink

HungryHorace · 30/12/2013 09:01

Rather you than me, Fatty. Remember to tell the instructor you're pregnant.

mszeenwithabean · 30/12/2013 09:06

sorry it was mssleepy looking for yoga classes Blush ... cycling everdyday already makes you 100times fitter than me but I've heard that yoga is a great way to clam your body and mind and prepare for labour both physically and mentally.. who knows, definitely worth a try though..Grin

AnnoyedByAlfieBear · 30/12/2013 09:17

Hope you are all well. I've been bleeding since last night with dull cramps do I think I'm prob out. Sad Good luck to you all.

HungryHorace · 30/12/2013 09:30

Oh, Annoyed, can you call your EPU for advice? I really hope it's just a blip. xx

All I do is take DD for walks in her pram. Not exactly going to keep me fit!

Feeling grim today. Got MiL coming over to help with DD so I can keep being sick if necessary. Lovely. :-/

ClarissaG · 30/12/2013 09:32

A fast moving thread so I'm late to reply, but thank you travispickles, Polkadot1, MissVaughan85, HungryHorace, lucyfluff and Babyspice2501, and any others I have missed for all your advice about disclosing it - food for thought, sounds like it will come out anyway.

This nausea is getting really tedious, so much work to get on with but productivity a disaster!

However, so grateful to have it, sending out lots of hugs and hope for the future to those who have left the post x

sillymeagain · 30/12/2013 10:19

Omg Omg Omg Omg

So so so excited. ...I'm jumping back on the bus! !!!!!

After what I thought was heavy bleeding almost 2 weeks ago (turns out it was not other people's definition of heavy) I assumed I was out but my symptoms have continued over Christmas and I had a scan this morning (got them to bring it forward) and. ..

I AM STILL PREGNANT!!!!

I am still in a very happy shocked fog and so so relieved!

FriendofDorothy · 30/12/2013 10:20

I did pregnancy yoga last time. I loved it and felt that it helped loads, and gave me a bit of time out.

Think I am going to do pregnancy Pilates this time.

lucyfluff · 30/12/2013 10:29

Wow great news silly Grin thats amazing news!!!! Did they change your dates?

Ive been proactive this morning and booked in with the GP for next week and reassurance scan next Friday @ 8 weeks!!!! eeeekkkkkkkkk Grin

Polkadot1 · 30/12/2013 10:33

Great news silly!!!!! Welcome back x

CountdownBegins · 30/12/2013 10:34

Great news silly !!! Bet it was lovely to see the scan! How far gone are you now? So happy for you

Polkadot1 · 30/12/2013 10:50

Good one lucyflyff!!

sillymeagain · 30/12/2013 11:01

Thank you. I went from crying with fear to sobbing with happiness. Although I had let my hopes run away with me I genuinely believed it was false hope. I have never been quite so happy to be wrong.

They put me bang on my dates of 7+6 so edd 12 August.

Also said that I can self refer on line to midwives to make sure I get my booking in appt on time to book my 12 week scan.

Hello to every one again. Hope this thread stays lucky for us all! Going to catch up on all that i have missed

HungryHorace · 30/12/2013 11:27

Yay, Silly! That's excellent news. :-)

Feelingfatty · 30/12/2013 11:29

Silly me that's great news!

Annoyed... Sorry to hear that hope it's nothing seriousEnvy

I haven't told my gym instructor yet as I go regularly and have known her years now so would rather wait until 12 weeks. Just not pushing myself to hard Smile although sickness nearly have me away as nearly had to duck out!!

miserywaterfall · 30/12/2013 11:30

Welcome back silly Great news :D

Just back from doctors.. again! More antibiotics for the UTI, same as before but slightly different dose so hoping this gets rid of it... please!!
