Antoinette, def step away from the tests, I tested at 7+5 and got a negative, got all upset and scan showed twins: think they aren't too accurate as u go on and hcg increase s!! Grin

2beornot · 02/01/2014 08:28

Am I the only one whose feeling more, erm, amorous than usual?! No way could I last til 12 weeks let alone 9 months!!

eekwhatsgoingon · 02/01/2014 08:38

Hi ladies, can I join please? I'm due 10th Aug I think with dc2. It's taken us a while to get our bfp so v excited/don't want to get hopes up too soon. Scans not til 28th jan so it still feels like ages to wait.

tobe I'm with you on the feeling horny front. Dh is getting lucky, that is when I'm not conked out asleep (which is most of the time!)

flymo79 · 02/01/2014 08:48

hello all, been off MN since just before chrimbo and catching up now as am back at my desk and fully depressed about my job.
Is anyone else thinking about leaving their job or starting some home working after this baby? Can anyone give me any tips??!
10 weeks today, should have scan date shortly. Exciting!

QueenOfGeeks · 02/01/2014 09:20

Hey all, popping back after the Chrimbo / NY madness. I haven't had time to catch up on all the posts, but sympathies to all those with bad news and congratulations to those who have seen heartbeats. I had my scan on Monday and there was a nice strong heartbeat. However the embryo had split, but the other foetus has not grown and has no heartbeat so have to go back in 2 weeks for another scan before I have my midwife booking in appt (on 13th) so I know what to tell the midwife.

Also am I bit confused by my dates, on Monday I was 7+3 (having a FET means the dates are exact) but the doc said this means I am due on the 12th Aug (I had been going off LMP but due to IVF cycle that is inaccurate) however when I put the dates into my calendar I make the due date the 15th so I guess I will have to clarify when I go Back.

Jenbee1 · 02/01/2014 09:29

Hi queen. I'm definitely thinking about it. There's no way I can go back with the hours and commute. I'm hoping to use the next 7 months productively but I may be over optimistic!

lucyfluff · 02/01/2014 09:36

Ladies quick morning q for you...

Just registered with Ofsted as a CM - inquiry yesterday re vacancies for a 1 and 3 year old. Unsure of days and times etc but Im not sure whether to reply and say I do have space BUT will only be working till say July. Obviously not sure alls ok yet!!! WWYD??!!

Thankyou - ps I have a headache already this morning :(

oh and hi flymo Grin

2beornot · 02/01/2014 10:08

Tricky one, Lucy. I'd feel bad if I didn't mention it to them at least. How long until your scan?

Flymo - I'm starting a new job in March! It's going to be hard work, but definitely better than my current job!!

londonchick · 02/01/2014 10:41

Hi! Tentatively dipping my toe in here. Been following the thread with much interest! I'm currently 8+2 with my first after 12 months of trying. Scan not till 3rd Feb sadly but I feel grim - sick, sore boobs, excessively tired - so am hoping they are good signs!

My sympathies to eeyore as I am also a nurse working 12.5hr shifts and they are already killing me. About to start nights and not looking forward to them at all!! Have also had to have Doritos banned from coming near me in the middle if the night!!

DH thrilled but no sex at the moment which he's not so happy about. I would def vomit halfway through! Hopefully after scan I will be feeling better!! He's also annoyed at cleaning out cat litter Smile

Antoinette I also had a friend get bad news at her 12 week scan and only very recently so I think I have that on my mind a lot but I guess every pregnancy is different and we have to remember that.

Hope you're all doing well. I need to get up and sort house out before night shift but planning a sneaky nap later Grin

flymo79 · 02/01/2014 10:44

hi jenbee, lucy, 2beornot, thanks for responses, I've a friend who took up bookkeeping when she was pregnant with #2, I've no idea how she had the energy!! Lucy, I would go for it, you can always tell them a bit further down the line and it will get you off to a good start!

mssleepyhead · 02/01/2014 10:47

Just got my scan letter! 17 February. Bit later than I'd like but I have a private one in a couple of weeks so the wait should be manageable : ) and it's in half term, so I can go back after the break and tell people.

Curious: if you're planning on going back to work after a year off - when are you going to start looking at nurseries? Not sure when I'll need to get my name down and start talking to work about going part time.

flymo79 · 02/01/2014 10:50

Hi Queen and Londonchick!

lucyfluff · 02/01/2014 10:52

Thanks flymo and 2be - Im in two minds still, so will give it a bit more thought and speak to DH! Would love to get started soon with it during the day Smile

HungryHorace · 02/01/2014 10:59

Queen, I wouldn't worry too much about the due date as it stands as the date used will be the date from the 12 week scan anyway.

Just started on some new pregnancy vitamins. Why on earth do they make them like horse pills. Not good when you're already trying not to throw up!

With regards to work, I'm going back to my current job for only 6 weeks (90 minute commute each way, expected to work all the hours god sends) before starting mat leave again.

Then I'll look for something part time and local after number 2.

I'm thankfully feeling better today after yesterday's grimness. Still a tiny bit queasy, but much better.

My booking appt is a week today. Must go and get a wee pot from my GP to take with me!

Feelingfatty · 02/01/2014 11:09

Mssleepy I'm sure you've told me/us but how far along are you? That date does seem late!! Haven't had mine yet don't have it until booking in next week. Smile

Feelingfatty · 02/01/2014 11:10

Hungry think I Have same pills they're huge!!

mssleepyhead · 02/01/2014 11:12

fatty I'm about 6+2 (I think, from date of AF I'm 6+5 but I think I ovulated late) so this scan would be around 13 weeks. Feels like forever away! But I know it'll fly by once I get back to school.

Feelingfatty · 02/01/2014 11:21

Oh right yeah I suppose that's right just seems so long away! Hoping mine will be closer to 12 weeks but know they can do anytime between 10 -14 so will just have to wait and see!!

HungryHorace · 02/01/2014 11:47

I'm lucky, my scan is at 11+4. I don't think I could wait any longer! Especially as DH doesn't want a private scan this time.

Is anyone else struggling to eat much, despite being hungry? It's doing my head in, but as soon as I look at a plate of food it just looks like hard work. Hopefully that will help to limit my weight gain if nothing else!

Feelingfatty · 02/01/2014 11:51

Hungry I'm finding eating not to bad (although completely gone off garlic!!) but cannot face the thought of preparing food which is difficult!! Been trying make chilli con carne for 3 nights now!!! Confused Bleugh!!!

DichotoMous · 02/01/2014 12:01

Hello everyone, please can I join? I got my BFP on 10th Dec and am currently 7+3. Had my first appointment with the midwife today which was a lot shorter than I expected - won't have bloods etc done until scan appointment at local hospital. Been given a load of leaflets and my green notes :-)

I'll get my scan date in the post but I am very lucky as my sister is a sonographer and she did a cheeky peek for us on Boxing Day when we saw a little heartbeat which was lovely (and a shock for DH!).

Wishing everyone a happy and healthy pregnancy, it's nice to have somewhere to share Thanks.

flymo79 · 02/01/2014 12:03

aw, dicho, that is lovely, you are very lucky to have a sonographer sister!!

flymo79 · 02/01/2014 12:05

anyone got any tips on where I can get a good, cheap, stretchy office skirt? I think it's just chrimbo weight gain, but my tum looks huge today!

HungryHorace · 02/01/2014 12:18

Flymo, have you looked at Next maternity stuff? I got loads in the sale last year.

Hi dicho! How lovely / lucky having a sonographer sister. And an awesome Christmas present. :-)
