Congratulations, fidget!

Wow, juliet, you don't hang around, do you?! That's excellent. What a fabulous quick birth! Congratulations and welcome Sofia.

felix, you are a legend. Keep it up!

loulou, I don't know if I'm going to MLU or labour ward. And I'm not really sure how to find out. When I saw the consultant on the day you stalked me he said he would write to the MLU and ask them if they would take me, but I'm not seeing him again until 8th Jan and due on 5th, so if I go into labour in the meantime I suppose I'll go to labour ward and ask them.
He wasn't sure if they'd take me because I'm slightly higher risk of PPH because of the fibroids, but fingers crossed! With my luck/past form I'll have to be induced 2 weeks late anyway, so it could all be completely irrelevant :o

frying, I hear you with the poo issues!

I have read everything back, I promise, but it's all a mess in my head and I can't remember who said what Blush

No real signs here. The odd quite painful BH and some backache, but nothing to write home about. No show, nothing exciting. 39 weeks today, so not long to go whatever happens. If I go overdue AGAIN the latest they will induce me is 17th Jan, so under 3 weeks in any case. I just want a normal, spontaneous labour, if it's not too much to ask!

More painting today. And I'll finally get the curtain rail up! Have lovely days, all :)

Congrats fidget and Juliet!

And thanks to I think another who commented on the lots of water issue, feeling a bit better about it now I've heard of two people having the same issue but with a happy outcome. Although midwife appointment has been moved from today to tomorrow so I will have to wait for the second opinion.

Toby I am with you on the spontaneous labour mission!!!! It's really not much to ask is it. Induced twice over here aswell.

Naturegirl82 · 29/12/2013 09:38

Congratulations quack and fidget. I can't believe how many babies have been born on this thread now!

I'm feeling much better today thankfully. Going to take it easy today still but get a few bits done around the house. Whoever mentioned chocolates and biscuits I'm going to consume a lot as obviously I have to make up for yesterday's lack of calories! Grin

TobyLerone · 29/12/2013 09:40

C'mon sarah. We can do it!

Glad you're feeling better, nature. Hopefully that's it out of the way for you.

Sultanajo · 29/12/2013 09:52

Great you are feeling better nature!

Congratulations fidget and quack! Woop woop!

Well I am hoping my little one is just holding out for his original due date, which was 1st Jan, so will probably remain relatively chilled about his lack of arrival until then, although still not looking forward to the sweep on Tuesday.

Really cant face my normal half a pineapple for breakfast as it gives me wicked heartburn....so instead I had some bourbon biscuits! Oops!

Frizz1986 · 29/12/2013 09:56

Yay quack and fidget i have lost count of the babie now and we havent even made it to January.

quack amazing on the fast labour and no pain relief. Have no idea how you did that! Crowning def the most stinging pain but my god once the head actually delivers the last bit is easy. My tear is starting to feel better and as long as you take all the meds and the laxative stuff its ok. I havent had any pain with bowel movements either which was my main worry.
Am sitting on an inflatable kids swimming ring (cheaper than a special cushion) and that makes it much more comfy.

Aurelia slept in her moses basket last night and i woke up every 2 hours just before she did so no tears for food. Yay! Dh did a nappy change over night and as soon as he opened it and went to wipe she poop again. It was hilarious!
Also her poop has now gone yellow....i think thats the next stage which hopefully shows she is feeding well.

enormouse · 29/12/2013 10:14

Congratulations fidget and quacko

booktart not really much planned. We have friends over so I need to clean the house delegate cleaning to dp. I woke up with my leg completely stiff so I'm not up to doing anything. I don't know who mentioned a white board but I think that's the way to go with Dp.

At the moment we're watching Sunday brunch and procrastinating.

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 29/12/2013 10:47

quacko huge congratulations! that's fabulous news! So glad it was a lovely short labour, well done you and Sofia.

nature you def need a monging day. Recover your strength.

Was up at 4 this morning for a couple of hours with properly painful movements, all v low down, felt like being stabbed internally. Bloody child. Had to pace around to send him/her to sleep then try and get back upstairs, into bed, and to sleep before bean woke up. Worked the second time.

toby can you ring the MLU and ask? Part of our tour yesterday was them deciding whether we were all low enough risk, so they can make pretty instant decisions. Sending natural labour vibes (pineapple flavoured) to you and sarahl. Grin

TobyLerone · 29/12/2013 10:56

That's not a bad idea, Humpty. I'll call next week.

Congratulations and welcome back fidget

Getting to hospital at 9 cm wow that's impressive quacko! I know ill be one of the people who keep going back at 1cm!!
Congratulations

I'm fitting skirting board in our bedroom today although woke up later than planned still in bed due to dhs alarm not going off at 8.30 as agreed ggrrr

I'm 37w on wed but have a feeling baby is going to be early. Keep needing to go to the loo and much more lower stabby pain and tummy tightenings (these are all over bump, are they bhs?). Really hoping to go to at least 40w as will be working solidly on house for at least another couple of weeks and really want my chill out time before he gets here. Also hospital bag only partially packed still

Angelesque · 29/12/2013 11:55

MrsVDB think I'm due about a week after you (28 Jan) but also sure this baby is coming early! Also have BHs and pressure that comes and goes in pelvis, plus period pains for last week... I reckon a mid-Jan arrival!

MrsVDB · 29/12/2013 11:58

Yes I'm due 22nd. Yes I've got the period pains too but really low. Everyone keeps saying its going to be a nye baby. I'm going to keep my legs firmly crossed!!

Do you want yours early angel? I know most people are impatient by now but I honestly love being pregnant even though I'm sure I get another stretch mark every time he moves!

AnotherStitchInTime · 29/12/2013 12:07

Congratulations quacko, glad to hear it was quick and that Sofia is feeding well Thanks

toby and sarah I hope it all kicks off naturally for you both this time.

MrsV I am in awe of your DIY abilities at this late stage :)

Glad you are feeling better nature, take it slow on the chocs though if you stomach is not fully recovered, it might not be able to cope with digesting them yet.

Just waiting for community midwife visit. Dd2 much better so we all got more sleep last night, thank goodness as DH was at the end of his reserves. I am lounging in bed atm as I can only do short periods of activity before getting really tired and feeling in pain. Feeling very emotional today, everything that has happened hitting home in a big way

Angelesque · 29/12/2013 12:08

I would love it to only be a couple more weeks, so mid Jan would be good - at about 38 weeks so I know baby's fully developed - slightly concerned I'm going to still be on this board on my own well into Feb!!! Also now baby is big and really moving I'm desperate to meet him/her and know all is okay.

I don't mind being preg - think I've had it pretty easy so far - but ready to get my body back!

Sultanajo · 29/12/2013 12:41

another am not surprised you are feeling tired and emotional! You have been through so much! HTH! We are here to listen and support if you need us.... Glad your DH got more sleep last night bless him! He must be feeling it too.

fryingpantoface · 29/12/2013 12:59

Oh another it's not surprising you're feeling rough. We're here and, as much as someone else can, we understand x keep talking to us!

I'm at church. The baby keeps doing something which means i have a stabby cervix. Bloody hell it hurts!

don't worry angel I'll be here until feb, I've no doubt! I'm 37+3 today

enormouse · 29/12/2013 14:16

MrsV I'm due on the 22nd too. But like you, I think he's going to be early. I'm suffering with sciatica and I'd be happy for baby to come out now so I can have a functional left leg again.

Hugs another. We're always here.

frying I'm getting the stabby cervix thing too. Like baby is trying to poke/punch his way through. Very very uncomfy.

I've started clearing our bedroom and making space for the babies crib. I'm now paranoid that there's so much to do and not enough time to do it. Dp has basically ordered me to the sofa and given me a cup of tea. He says he'll do it all when he comes back in later.

Sultanajo · 29/12/2013 14:53

frying and enormouse the stabby cervix is so weird (and painful!) It really feels as though they are trying to claw their way out doesn't it! I keep expecting my waters to break each time it happens.....!

I seem to suddenly have the first trimester nausea back, which is just bloomin marvellous! Not gone off any foods, but have noticed over the last few days I have the annoying lingering nauseous feeling when I am not eating..... Just glad I know bubs will definitely be here within the next two weeks!

Anyone else getting stabby pains in their rectum? Its happening daily to me and I think it must be linked to a degree of constipation and bubs squishing it! Really freakin hurts when it happens. I then spend the next couple of hours back and forth to the bathroom trying to get things moving....

fryingpantoface · 29/12/2013 14:58

I've been having stabby bumhole pains too! (pregnancy is so glam) but then I've got diahorrea again,so could be related.

can you take anything for it, does anyone know, when you're pregnant?

Sultanajo · 29/12/2013 15:08

frying stabby bumhole pains! Lol! I don't think you can take anything to stop diarrhoea (again got conflicting GP advice on this) but you can take certain rehydration solutions to prevent dehydration. How annoying frying!

GummiBear74 · 29/12/2013 15:16

frying, if you're going to walk into a pharmacy and ask for something for 'stabby bumhole pains', please ask someone to take a photo of the pharmacist's face Grin

Just to be different, I had stabby clitoris pains yesterday, that had me doubling over grabbing at my crotch every few steps. Luckily they went away before I had to leave the house, because that would've been interesting in public Blush

Talking of public, felix is my hero! I got one of the super expensive bebe au lait feeding covers for Chrimbo, so that'll come in handy if I ever dare to venture out.

Congrats to everyone who has already met their baby (great names everyone!) and hang on in there to everyone else. Mine seems to be showing no signs of engaging (will check with MW tomorrow), so I think I'm in for the long haul.

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 29/12/2013 15:32

another of course it's hitting you, lovely, you went through a huge amount, not just childbirth. Massive hugs.

stabby bum hole and fanjo pains check. The bum one is def poo related, I am finding my intestines are flattened by bean, so the passage of poo is uncomfortable. Nice. The fanjo ones must be cervix related and they are fucking painful. Although if someone could promise me that they are my body gearing up for labour, I'd probably bear them with a bit less swearing Grin

GummiBear74 · 29/12/2013 15:45

another, you've been through a huge big deal and I've been admiring you immensely. It's not surprising that it's all finally hit you, but at least you're back home, surrounded by your family. That's got to be the best place for you Thanks

Bluecarrot · 29/12/2013 16:18

I had some pains I thought might be te start but after a sleepless night they have now vanished. Had a pineapple for breakfast and have spent the day trying to catch up on sleep! Have started taking arnica too, since it's apparently a big baby ( eek!)

Midwife apt tomorrow and decided against sweep. Will only do it once the alternative is chemical induction. I'm only 39 weeks tomorrow though!

TarkaTheOtter · 29/12/2013 17:14

sultana I've been feeling nauseous again too.

Induction tomorrow. Hoping to be dilated enough to avoid needing propess and can go straight to breaking waters/drip. Lots of period type pain today so maybe shouldn't need too much help!
