Lovely birth story lee glad you're home and doing well Smile

Welcome mummyk hope your little one arrives soon!

I'm not sleeping well either trinpy carpal tunnel is waking me every half hour from about 3am. I have to get out if bed and walk around to get the sensation in my hands back and running my hands under cold water for 5 minutes is the only thing that eases the pain and burning sensation.

blessed so excited for you!!! Looks like another April baby could be on their way!

Trinpy · 27/03/2014 22:47

Ahhhhh I'm so excited for you Blessed!!! Keep us updated in between contractions Wink .

Cannotbelieveit · 27/03/2014 22:51

Ooh blessed! Exciting xxx keep us updated when you can xx

Misty9 · 28/03/2014 03:41

Ooh exciting blessed!

I can't sleep :( in between blocked stuffy nose, excruciating pain in pubic bone, and banging 2 day headache, oh and weeing twice so far. Contemplating giving up for night but would have to open stair Gate to get downstairs and ds is already unsettled.

Carpal tunnel sounds worse though, so I shouldn't complain :(
I'm ready to not be pregnant anymore please!

prettyinpink90 · 28/03/2014 04:49

Sorry to hear you're not sleeping well either misty Sad I've taken to MN for a while so my DP can settle back into a deep sleep as I've been up 5 times in the last two hours already Angry.
The midwife couldn't advise much apart from referring me to the physio (can't get booked in until day before I'm due) and there really isn't much on the Internet to advise how to ease the pain and discomfort.

and as I type this my hands are going numb

LeeHandy · 28/03/2014 04:57

well done, blessed! I am excited for you! fingers crossed! Smile

Things got going around 1am. I was scared of being sent home so i laboured til i couldn't take it anymore. We got to the hospital and I was 4cm open. I got the epidural and it was fantastic. However the little bugger is so high so it might take a while. Good news is I am 6cm.

prettyinpink90 · 28/03/2014 05:14

Thanks lee I think I might try to get an appointment with my GP today and see what they can advise. In the meantime I have started a thread in pregnancy to see whether anyone can advise.

Are you having trouble sleeping too or are you not in the UK?

prettyinpink90 · 28/03/2014 05:16

Great to hear from you blessed keep going... It won't be long till your baby is here! So very very excited for you Smile

Cannotbelieveit · 28/03/2014 08:40

Go blessed hope you have your baby now or very soon!! X

Trinpy · 28/03/2014 09:41

Great to read the update from Blessed. Expect she's had her baby by now!

Misty and pretty you must both be exhausted with all of that going on during the night. I hope you're both able to get some rest today.

I got my exercise ball out yesterday and tried to do a mini workout to get rid of this beached whale feeling I have. Completely regretted it when I then couldn't get to sleep because my spd had flared up Angry . I think I'm also ready to not be pregnant anymore now.

39 weeks today.

patsy375 · 28/03/2014 09:47

blessed so excited for you Smile and also a little Envy can't wait to hear how it all went.
Have had more than enough of being pregnant now, in pain all day and struggling to get a full nights sleep.

Misty I'm sure its mother natures way of preparing us for imminent nights of interrupted sleep but it just seems bloody cruel to me!

pink you sound like youre really suffering Sad Is it your whole hand that hurts or just some of your fingers?

38+5

prettyinpink90 · 28/03/2014 12:32

It sounds like we are all suffering at the moment aren't we! patsy it's my whole hand (and both of them). After only getting 2hrs sleep I rang my GP this morning but they can't see me till next week so going to nip to Boots today and try and pick up some wrist splints.

Not long to go now hopefully ladies!

37 weeks today!

badfurday · 28/03/2014 12:40

39 weeks today and my last day at work! Feels really weird, but am tired and ready to leave.
Have a growth scan on Tuesday which I'm a little worried about. It's at 8.40am which will be fun! I work in the hospital where in having the baby, so it will feel like getting up for another days work!
Hope everyone is doing ok. Smile

ChurrosConChocolate · 28/03/2014 13:26

ooh, excitedly awaiting news from blessed!! I hope all is going well and you are cuddling your baby now Grin

misty, it's not me with the homebirth, it's trinpy

wendle it's my 2nd and I'm still anxious! You just have different concerns second time round I think! Worried about the birth after problems last time, worried about coping with two, worried about how DS will adjust...You are right though, the first few weeks I found very hard last time, I didn't enjoy the newborn stage too much but then it just gets better and better Smile

pretty carpal tunnel sounds horrible. Hope you can find some wrist splints and they help. Is there something about soaking them in hot or cold water or something too?

badfurday hurrah for finishing work! Is there a reason for the growth scan?

I'm feeling rubbish with a sore throat, headache, general achiness, and poor DS seems to have it too so we are both moping round the house today feeling sorry for ourselves. And the upstairs flat's shower started seriously leaking through our ceiling last night, and he's generally useless at sorting stuff out Sad. Argh, so much to do and I just want to feel healthy to get it done (apologies for pity post!!!)

36 weeks today!

patsy375 · 28/03/2014 19:37

Oh pretty both hands?
That's not good.
I had it in 3 fingers during my 1st pregnancy and found that if I strapped them together with tape which kept them straight over night they were a lot better.
Hopefully the wrist splints will help you in the same way.

Cannotbelieveit · 28/03/2014 19:42

Yay at finishing work bad!! Grin

Are they thinking baby is big or small? x

Trinpy · 28/03/2014 20:25

Oh yeah it's me that had the presentation scan for the hb Misty. I am in the UK but it might depend on different trusts. Even my mw didn't know about it until one of her colleagues told her. I think I should have had it at 37 weeks really. Like I said, it wasn't really necessary because if there's any doubt about baby's position the mw would have sent me off for a scan to cover herself anyway. Probably just my hospital getting nervy in case something goes wrong and they get sued.

badfurday · 28/03/2014 20:26

Ah, work done. I was a proper blubbering wreck. My colleague are so bloody lovely and I got some lovely presents. The card was what set me off, such kind words. I cried when I left and called my husband in tears. He was like, god whats wrong! I think he thought I was in labour! I was like, no, I'm just a hormonal wreck! I haven't seen him all week and as I drove up our road he was driving down it, so we had a 2 minute chat through the car windows. We have our delivery suite tour tomorrow, so at least we can get excited together then and finally spend some time together!

Cannot - I was measuring 36cm at my 38 week appointment, and the 35cm at my 36 week appointment. Midwife was lovely and said its just precautionary and not to worry, but its easier said than done.

Wow, I cant believe we are nearly at the end of our journey girls!

Churros - hope you feel better soon, there is something going round, everyone at work seems to be coming down with it. Looks like I got our just in time before I got anything!

LeeHandy · 29/03/2014 06:22

waiting for blessed's news as well!! though I am sure she is too busy cuddling the baby to update us.. Grin
pink, I am in the UK, but baby won't let me sleep at night at all..Grin so my phone keeps me going while baby feeds for the nth time and while dh snores away next to me.. Smile
to all those who are sick of being pregnant, last week at this time, I felt exactly the same way. and I must confess, except for the lovely baby in my arms, I was slightly better off being pregnant than not when it comes to sleep and feeling well. I guess it has to get worse before get it gets better!

OP posts:
LeeHandy · 29/03/2014 06:25

ah bad don't worry about the scan! I measured 38 cm at 38 cm on Thursday and on Sunday when I went into labour, I only measured 34 cm! The mw said it was partly because the baby's head had dropped so low.

OP posts:
LeeHandy · 29/03/2014 06:26

I meant 38 cm at 38+4 weeks..

OP posts:
badfurday · 29/03/2014 06:35

Thanks lee. I'm not too worried, just want it done now. Just seems like an extra thing to do before babybadfurday arrives.

Husband has just got in from work, was supposed to be in by 1am but they ran over big time! We have our delivery tour at 10 so he is just going to stay up and sleep later. Hope I don't go into labour today as we will both be exhausted! He is making me tea and breakfast as we speak, legend. Smile

LeeHandy · 29/03/2014 08:22

good luck for the tour and holding out till after Monday, bad! Grin
