Thanks for the replies I.e Midwifes App she was very clear only after 20 weeks. I've heard that Happens in subsequence pregancies but she is well aware of my history so I hardly qualify under that category.

DH thinks she might have counted the appointment I had at 13 weeks as the 16 week one just to tick it off. But that was actually my appointment with the Consultant she just happened to be there so not what I would call a normal check up.

I feel like I'm constantly hassling them about things, like I'm being really awkward and demanding.

moominleigh94 · 04/11/2013 21:32

LittleBairn did she specify no 16 week appointment? I was told 16 weeks was the only one I had to book myself, after that they'll all be booked for me. I've got 16 week appt next week, then consultant appt the week after... then two weeks later I've got 20 week scan Shock the weeks do seem to be flying by now.

2 sets of twins how exciting Shock Grin congrats both of you!

I've hit a new milestone today; someone touched my bump without me asking. A slightly odd boy in my class who plays with his crotch all the time Confused

WHY ARE PEOPLE INCAPABLE OF ASKING????

OP posts:
LittleBairn · 04/11/2013 21:39

moomin no 16 week it's 20 weeks I will see you. Amd I have to make all my appointments they don't Pre book.
I do find once your past the 12 week scan the time start to fly in, it helps to be pregnant too so close to Christmas you et so caught up with plans that it helps time move quicker.

For the experienced mums when can you feel the baby move externally? DH is desperate to feel the baby move I said probably some time around Christmas when I'll be 22/23 weeks.

LittleBairn · 04/11/2013 21:40

Shock moomin eww no way do you have to be polite to these people be very calm and firm 'move your hand please' I dread people touching me just the idea makes my skin crawl.

impatientlywaiting · 04/11/2013 21:53

Eek 2 sets of twins in 1 day!!! Congratulations Alyss and Ilovemy2babies. So exciting.

thistlelicker · 04/11/2013 22:32

Ok update: went to see out of hours gp, they did my bp three times and ya through the roof, also urine has signs of infection, so been referred to Epu to see doctor because of blood pressure and black spots !!!! Went full circle but I could have come straight here in the first place!!! Feeling really rubbish !!!

Xavielli · 04/11/2013 23:47

Hope you're ok now thistle

Welcome lovemy2(more!)babies this will be my 5th Dc so you can join me in the padded room Wink

Hezbean · 04/11/2013 23:49

mumof2aimingfor4 · 05/11/2013 06:59

Thinking of you thistle hope all is well.

Congratulations alyss and ilovemy

Good luck for Thursday hez

moomin I cant stand being touched by random people, I can't travel on underground or anything because of it. But that boy would have had his arm pulled from the socket if it was my belly. Get the tops that say hands off the bump. I will be and then people will have been warned!

mumof2aimingfor4 · 05/11/2013 07:00

Oh, and EVERYONE is supposed to have the 16 week appointment.

dobedobedo · 05/11/2013 07:38

Let us know how you are thistle. It could be migraines. Hope you're okay.

Moomin if anyone touches my stomach at all without my consent, they're getting slotted in the throat! There's nothing worse Angry

Today I'm having stomach aches. Last night was really bad. I think it's digestive and not baby related. I ate pasta last night and I'm pretty sure I'm developing an intolerance to wheat as it makes me so bloated since I've been pregnant. I'm in two minds whether to visit the midwife to get checked over for a uti just to be on the safe side, in case it's that. What would you do? X

AliOh · 05/11/2013 07:48

Congrats on the scan news Alyss did you have an inkling before the scan?

Welcome ilove and congrats on your twin news too!!

Hope your feeling better soon Thistle

I would get it checked dobe just to rule it out. I've had to avoid white pasta, bread, potatoes etc since being pregnant as it plays havoc with my digestive system :( ive switched to whole grain pasta and rice which seems better though if that's any help :)

mumof2aimingfor4 · 05/11/2013 07:54

dobe I agree with alioh I suffer from IBS which is triggered by white pasta/rice/bread. Switch to whole wheat but also go to docs and get checked.

moominleigh94 · 05/11/2013 07:57

I'd get it checked out dobe, I'm sensitive to gluten and wheat and the pain from that messing with my adhesions is very similar in my experience to the pain of a UTI, so there's no harm in getting it checked out - I've been to the doctors twice so far because I thought the adhesions were getting worse and it's turned out to be a UTI both times :)

I really do need to get one of those t-shirts... found some amazing ones, I know what I'll be asking OH for for Christmas Grin

thistlelicker · 05/11/2013 08:34

I got home around 130am! Had blood pressure checked and urine checked at hospital! Blood pressure was fine at hospital, so I think oho gp cuff
Was too small therefore wrong readings(pregnant woman shouldn't have bp checked in electric machine, it should be manual)! Urine shows signs of infection so they have sent it away! Generally feelin unwell so they have signed me off for a weekHmm

Spirael · 05/11/2013 08:46

Morning all! Apologies for the relative silence, still been struggling through MS here. Just got signed off for another two weeks, as it's still debilitating. Hopefully my work aren't too annoyed at me, I just had to call and let them know. My boss was really sweet, but I still feel guilty!

Starting to get awful cabin fever too. Feel like I've barely left the house for the last two weeks, I seem unable to handle much other than dozing on the sofa with my trusty bucket companion. Bleh! 10+3 today, so it had better start easing soon!

I have my NHS scan on Friday, I think they're going to be taking bloods from me at the same time. Not expecting any problems, given all was fine in my private scan last week. Be nice to see the little wiggler again, however. Remind me why I'm tolerating feeling so rubbish!

Congratulations to all those who have had successful scans! :)

Hope you get to the bottom of the problem and get it resolved ASAP Thistle! Take care of yourself.

Not got a bump here yet, just flab, so no danger of anyone putting their hands all over me. Didn't really have any issues last time, though a 'friend' did try to nickname me Fatty and got shot down pretty quick for that one. (I believe it went along the lines of "Hi Fatty!", "Hi Scrawny McChicken Legs!" ... She didn't try it again.)

I'd probably do the same tact if someone besides my DH/DD touched my stomach, and immediately put my hands on theirs. See how they like the invasion of personal space!

wm3010 · 05/11/2013 09:09

Morning all. No 16 week appointment here, first baby and not high risk. Midwife gave me a list of all the appointments I needed up front and the next one isn't until after the 20 week scan, plus the midwife who took my blood at the 12 week scan confirmed no need to see anyone before the next scan unless I am worried about something. Wonder if it is a regional thing?

wm3010 · 05/11/2013 09:13

PS Congrats on all the lovely scan news and double congrats to the twin mummies!

AliOh · 05/11/2013 10:34

I was told that I needed to ring up and book my 16 week appointment (which I haven't done yet). I have to have to quadruple blood test done for downs at 16 weeks so maybe like you say wm it is a regional thing.

My bump has definitely popped out, took a pic this morning and sent it to my friend who is 28weeks, she sent me one back of hers and she is not much bigger Confused, but she is extremely tall and slim so maybe thats why she is so tiny.

moobaloo · 05/11/2013 10:50

Wow twins!!!

Congrats to everyone who's had scans recently!!

hamncheese Hope you feel better soon!! xxxx

I was feeling my stomach last night (as you do Hmm) and could feel a fairly solid bit quite low down (below the fat bit!) like a full bladder but I'd just been to the loo... Could this be my thingamjig with the babby in??? or am I just squishing random bits of my body and hoping? 11+2

still got nausea on and off but no more throwing up yay! Just occasional retching at strong smells, milk was slightly off and I had to leave the room and get dp to wash it down the sink - I'm normally the strong stomached one!!

TheAlyssWithTheMewlingQuim · 05/11/2013 11:15

I thought it was either twins or something horrible lol as my morning sickness was so bad compared to my first pregnancy. I could see both twins very easily, I was surprised! No one in my family has ever had twins, and I was told that they are probably identical.

My partner and I finally told our families last night. My partner's family was so happy and excited, but my mum was disappointed and kept telling me that she didn't think I would be able to cope Sad

hamncheese · 05/11/2013 11:29

How unsupportive alyss don't take any notice, you will be great with your twins. How old is your LO?

Sounds like you've popped moo :)

And congrats on the twins too, ilove fab news.

Had a perfect morning with DS. We went for a wintery walk and it was so festive, he was padding along the road (country wood road) in his snow boots and going "BAH!" At everything which is his sort of "wow look at that!" Then the park and the post office and library, i feel like someone living a life again not all cabin feverish (totally can relate spirael )

Now trying to decide over swimming, asda, or soft play for the afternoon...

My MIL always touches my bump when she comes in now and says hello baby. Kind of annoys me but I think well, family isn't too bad I guess.

hamncheese · 05/11/2013 11:31

Ps does anyone think there is a correlation between feeling sick and vitamin d? I thought it made me sick first time and feeling worse again has coincided with taking it again... I'm going to take it before bed instead...

Spirael · 05/11/2013 12:09

Interesting, hamncheese... I didn't take Vitamin D last time around and my MS was no-where near as bad as this time. I'm only taking the Vitamin D this time because my MW insisted that I do.

I might stop for a few days and see whether it has any effect... I figure I can always start it up again once I reach the second trimester! Didn't seem to do DD any harm me not taking any last time around.

However I've always taken the Vitamin D before bed and my MS is at its worst mid-morning, usually. So it may be a false hope...
