I've got my scan tomorrow. So nervous about it but glad it's finally nearly here x

hamncheese · 03/11/2013 10:09

You learn to travel light. I've found a small backpack adequate (the size of the fashiony ones they have in shops at the mo is fine as well as regular backpack) especially before you wean. You just need nappies, wipes, a muslin. A toy and bum cream if needed. That said if you plan on bottle feeding its a little more to bring but I know people who bottle fed and managed to cut it down to the bare minimum too. I think its easy to take too much stuff just in case but in actuality you don't need it. Only thing I didn't take sometimes and had a little regret was a change of clothes if they were sick but tbh you get to a point when you just wipe it off and deal with it, plus you usually end up with it on you as well. Nice.

We got a silver cross 3d travel system initially but barely used it. With the lie flat bit DS hated it just wanted held in the sling. Then as a pushchair I got the baby jogger and its sooooo much easier to push and a better ride. This time I plan on wearing the new one and putting DS in the jogger then no need for a double buggy plus he's walking now so as long as I have sling and jogger some combo will work haha!

NannyPlumForPM · 03/11/2013 14:48

I got the silver cross 3d and found it quite good! Hopefully it'll last this one again because at £400 I really need to et some more use out of it. That said- the brakes iffy! But as soon as dd could walk she was out of there :(

thistlelicker · 03/11/2013 14:51

I have mamas and papas pliko paramette! Very light to move

dobedobedo · 03/11/2013 16:00

I just can't believe how much prams are these days. When I had ds in 2005 they were half the price.
I sound old now don't I? Grin

Currently lying on my bed trying not to throw up. I haven't been sick in a few days now but the nausea hasn't let up yet. Wish it would!

McBaby · 03/11/2013 16:37

I love my icandy peach and converts to a double when the new baby comes along.

I have an ergo sling and love it do easy to use and DD 15 months will still nap in it when out on trains, planes etc. I just put a nappies, wipes and spare clothes on my handbag I hated having a sling and rucksack on.

I never thought I would be a sling person but I had to take DD in to central London every day for 3 months when she was 7-10 months old and the pushchair is a pain on the tube there are so many flights of stairs and not everyone is helpful!

hamncheese · 03/11/2013 17:03

dobe been having a nausea revival here today too. Feel so peaky. I really thought that the pay off for having worse ms this time would be it'd let up quicker. But no, looks like I have to wait til 16 weeks again :( how far are you now... 14 weeks here. I also remember thinking to myself how I'd feel grand by my birthday (today) but no such luck!

nanny maybe its just the jogger is so comfy compared due to the suspension. DS just wasn't a pram happy baby though! I think you can get them serviced for use second time around...

Xavielli · 03/11/2013 17:06

Happy birthday Ham!

dobedobedo · 03/11/2013 17:42

Happy birthday ham! I'm 13+2 today. Still waiting to "glow" like all the books say I should by now. Hmm

LittleBairn · 03/11/2013 17:51

ham Happy Birthday.

dobe ahh yes the great Glow myth. The only glow I've ever experienced during pregancy is the sheen of sweat as I threw up yet again.

moominleigh94 · 03/11/2013 18:24

thistlelicker · 03/11/2013 19:42

I've had some odd dreams! One did involve Gary Barlow and it was not sexy !!!Shock

dobedobedo · 03/11/2013 19:48

I had a sex dream about a Latino trapeze artist in shiny tight blue pants. What the hell is that about?! I told dh and he laughed. (I normally like the big, hairy, beardy types.)

LittleBairn · 03/11/2013 19:49

Shock at Gary Barlow how disappointing. Grin

I also had a dream were DH decide he was having a polygamous marriage with me and the woman next door. Fathering two children with her but I was only allowed one child. And she got a dog DH has always denied me a dog. Plus she got to have a bigger house because she had more children.

I woke up furious, and even thought I know I was being totally unfair I couldn't help be pissed off with him all weekend for it. Blush

As soon as I was pregnant again DH started to joke he was off next door...Grin

LittleBairn · 03/11/2013 19:50

randdom · 03/11/2013 19:58
