cokefan that sounds really scary but so glad everything is OK now....

I am soooo tired today. Have had the most pounding headache since yesterday morning and barely slept a wink last night. I forgot to take my phone to work, and did and said some really dappy things too! Everyone is probably wondering what the hell is wrong with me.

I also left my phone on the tube the other day but (faith in humanity restored) it got handed in, how lucky was that!! Baby brain or just completed knackeredness??

This doesn't bode well for sleep deprivation with a small baby does it! How will I be able to function!??!

Alioh great news about the scan. Mine's a week tomorrow!

LittleBairn glad the consultant appointment went well too.

moominleigh94 · 30/10/2013 17:43

loopy - I wish we could wait but we now have a reference point to decorate a nursery around; natural wood it is Grin (I'm happy as I prefer natural wood to white or dark). We figured there's no point waiting as we don't have a nursery to decorate yet, may as well order the big things now and hope we'll have a house and a room for the baby by May Grin

vikks I'm terrified of the 3.5 year age gap! I've only done 15 months, 4.5 years and 25 months again so dd2 will be 2.4 as well. Uncharted territory.

Xavielli · 30/10/2013 18:01

Not 25 months ... 15 months again. Note to self; Learn to proof read

thistlelicker · 30/10/2013 18:18

I think after baby born I'm going to have the coil fitted, for fertility reasons

Vikks · 30/10/2013 18:18

Xavielli I forgot how many extra 'helpers' you have! Are your children all excited?

moominleigh94 · 30/10/2013 18:24

I've already promised my parents I'm having the injection after baby's born... they're so excited for becoming grandparents but not sure they could deal with two in quick succession Wink

Talking of injections, think I'm going to have to postpone my flu jab. Got a cold that I can't seem to shift and a cough that's lasted for over four weeks now Sad

OP posts:
Xavielli · 30/10/2013 18:27

I think they're excited. The little two don't really get it, DD1 is concerned that this one will be born on her birthday (14th April) as I tend to be early. Ds1 is so used to it now, he seems quite chirpy when he's announcing it all over the shot - we only told them after the scan.

Great scan Ali

moomin your housemate has never been pregnant so doesn't understand the strain it puts on your body and emotions. They might learn one day. In the meantime I hope they step in dog pooh.

JuniorMint · 30/10/2013 18:40

Ah lovely to see and hear about people's scans! But bloody hell, that placental haematoma sounds terrifying! My scan is in the morning and I'm sitting here like its Christmas Eve Grin I am also totally exhausted as we have been having a HUGE clear out and have sorted loads of clothes, shoes, DVDs and CDs to sell/give to charity and cleared out kitchen cupboards. Exhausting but very cathartic!

Xavielli · 30/10/2013 18:41

Blimey well done Junior I wish I had the energy for such things.

JuniorMint · 30/10/2013 18:44

It has been needing doing for aaaages but it was the thought of baby on the way that spurred me on! DH did most of the grunt work, while I held bin bags open and made executive decisions... "keep... bin... keep... charity... bin... give to Dsis..." etc etc!

moominleigh94 · 30/10/2013 20:08

Where on MN is the best place to post a thread about housing issues? I've looked all over and can't find anywhere Sad and I know that if I post in AIBU I'll be ripped to shreds.

alioh beautifully clear scan pic. Glad all is well.

Thank you for the great book advice! I haven't found a good book for a while. DP was pissed at me for reading at the dinner table (you were right the divergent book is difficult to put down, as will be the rest of them no doubt!) But as I pointed out to him, i am making good use of the kindle he bought me ;) I have had my face buried in it for the last three hours.

thistlelicker · 30/10/2013 20:17

I'm glad I'm pregnant in the winter!!! Can snuggle down warm :-)

Flixy102 · 30/10/2013 20:19

moomin how about posting in chat? It covers everything and anything and think the people in there are a bit kinder than AIBU.

Xavielli · 30/10/2013 20:21

I don't know if there is a specific area for housing. Perhaps try chat? What's the problem?

LittleBairn · 30/10/2013 20:22

moomin if its about your right that sort of thing in Legal. If its more general advice Chat would be fine.

Talking about contraception DH asked (when I was around 6 weeks) how quickly after this one could we have another! Hmm

I've had the most crushing headache all day and I still haven't managed to sleep. I thought the 2nd tri was all about feeling great? Is that another myth along with the 'glow'?

LittleBairn · 30/10/2013 20:27

moomin your a pregnant woman after my own heart I pretty much have everything loads of cloth nappies, baby clothes, ring sling, Amby Nest. I'm fairly sorted.
I know some people are particular about waiting but I did that last time and actual having nothing at all baby related made me feel worse. So I started buying while TTC.

moominleigh94 · 30/10/2013 20:37

Thanks, I'll give chat a try, although I've had some advice to just not mention the hamster which opens up our options a bit.

Staying in the student house with a baby is not an option, but we have to pay until June. We need to find somewhere new, preferably to have moved into by March, early April at the latest as due end of April. Needs to be baby, student and hamster-friendly, which is hard enough as it is, but we're also not sure where we stand on the DSS front - can't claim many benefits because we're students, and don't think we qualify for housing benefit, but I think I'll get child benefit - will that exclude us?

Is basically my issue with housing Angry

Xavielli · 30/10/2013 20:44

Fill out a home seekers form with your local council moomin it can't hurt to try. Me and ExP lived in a shared house when I was pg with ds1, it was horrible not having any security. I moved back in with my parents in the end as I couldn't deal with the squabbles and drunken behaviour.

AliOh · 30/10/2013 20:45

No problem mumof2 it is very addictive, I haven't read the last one in the trilogy yet (wanted to re-read the first two) and have read mixed reviews on it so hoping it is as good!

moominleigh94 · 30/10/2013 20:57

Not going to spoil anything Ali but can confirm the last in the Divergent trilogy is good :) (in my opinion)

LittleBairn · 30/10/2013 21:08

Shelter are good for housing advice too.

NannyPlumForPM · 30/10/2013 21:20

I found that a lot of agences wouldn't actually take on tenants receiving dss! So it may be worth going to one? I found a Luffly private landlord and then a job very soon after so that was about 2 yrs ago :) screw u agencies mwahahaha

Hendricks · 30/10/2013 21:31

I'm not sure what to make of the age gap - other than I think it will be massive compared to my previous 21.5 month one. We've not told the children yet (the only family member who does know is my Mum), figuring May to them is still ages away.

I figure it will all be different whether we'd had the same age gap as before or a bigger one. Certainly 1&2 were very different to each other as babies.
