Minions · 29/10/2013 19:52

Great news dobe, how exciting! Sounds like you've a wee wriggler too :) Good luck alioh, let us know how you get on.

moomin, you made me laugh! I count it as a very brainy if I get one question half right...good luck for the try outs!

I ate all day to stop feeling rubbish. Anyone got a favourite healthy snack? Must stop with the crisps and choc... I've got Fruit, Nakd bars and peanut butter on brown bread on the list, need things which will give loads of energy - all ideas welcome

mumof2aimingfor4 · 29/10/2013 20:02

Good luck tomorrow alioh what time is your scan?

snoozysleeper · 29/10/2013 20:05

And good to see your scan pic too dobe Smile

Movetothesound · 29/10/2013 20:08

Congrats dobe and well done thistle

I feel so far behind you all, still waiting for booking in next week! Time feels like its in slow motion.

A little bit random but does anyone like McFly? Just had a blub at a video one of them posted announcing he and his wife a having a baby.

Now having a giggle with my best friend as we are both pregnant and were die hard fans back in the day and I found out I was pregnant when i was having dinner (in a loo break) waiting to see them at the Royal Albert Hall last month!

dobedobedo · 29/10/2013 20:14

Good luck alioh. I was a complete wreck before mine too.

It was quite funny in the scan today. The baby was lying very still to start off with, I commented that I expected to see it wiggle a bit and then it waved! After that the baby went nuts, kicking and arching it's back and generally having a little rave! The sonographer was great, she let us marvel for ages. Then, as if baby was fed up, it just turned it's back on us and lay really still again. Cute. Can scan babies be cute?

Argh I know I'm gushing, but I guess I just expected to see nothing there.

LittleBairn · 29/10/2013 21:36

Congrats to all who had good scans and appointments.
I have my consultants appointment tomorrow morning I'm really nervous.

Xav seriously jealous of your kids gorgeous ringlets.

minions I love Nakd bars there my favorite snack. Morrisons also do a really nice bar called 0 its softer than the Nakd bars with pomegranates and red berries its lovely.

I'm actual trying to compile a list of snacks I can make or buy for quick snacks during pregancy but also post partum or worse if I end up in hospital for a while.

I'm thinking, healthy bars, almond butter for rice crackers, nits, high quality chocolate for quick energy.
I'm also going to start filling up the freezer with fresh soup and single portion meals.

loopylou52 · 29/10/2013 21:54

Aw, that sounds lovely dobe! Yep, I reckon scan babies can definitely be cute! I still haven't looked at any of your scan pics as can't view them from the phone app. Will have to venture onto the laptop sometime soon for a nosy.

Minions - how about nutella on toast? I currently seem to be living off it. I have WeightWatchers bread so not to heavy and not actually too bad for you but satisfying good for a chocolate/sugar fix. I'm also a fan of crackers with jam (often used to have that when hungover so have found it quite good for nausea) but my friends used to laugh at me for eating them so maybe that's a bit weird?! If you're fancying lots of crisps then healthier ones like French Fries or popcorn are a good alternative? I got some granola bars when I was first pregnant and after healthy snacks but I quickly seemed to go off them and now the thought of them makes me feel sick! Hmm

loopylou52 · 29/10/2013 21:57

Aw, movetothesound, just watched the video and nearly cried at the end! So sweet Smile

LittleBairn · 29/10/2013 21:58

Ok I just tried to do some feminine topiary and nicked myself. Blush
I think for pregnacy I'm just going to have to go 70's style....

mumof2aimingfor4 · 29/10/2013 22:03

Oh an hour of tvd just really isn't enough! Jeremy is looking pretty buff though!

Squiffie · 29/10/2013 22:06

Great to hear lots of lovely news! I can't see any pics either as only use this on my phone.

loopy I love crackers and jam! Smile

hamncheese · 30/10/2013 06:12

Hendricks · 30/10/2013 08:12

Morning all!

Been awake since half five, so a tad on the knackered side this morning. Hopefully a couple of cups of coffee at playgroup will sort me out this morning though. Last session for #2 as it's his birthday on Thursday and his funded nursery place starts on Monday. Sure I'll be back there again though by this time next year (with a 5 five month old in tow Shock)

Have a good day everyone

11+5

Dylanlovesbaez · 30/10/2013 08:26

Booking in on Monday so hoping not too long until I get a scan date. Will be almost 11 weeks at booking in. Everything seems to be taking forever. Do I have to wait until after booking in to get scan date or do you think I could chase them now?

Cupcake1985 · 30/10/2013 08:53

dylan I had my booking in yesterday and the midwife said she then takes my details (on a sheet of paper) to the hospital who would then contact me. I was 10 weeks and she said its anytime 11-14 weeks and I was nice and early they had plenty of time to arrange a time. Bemused me as others seem to have had their scan dates weeks in advance. I wouldn't worry too much it sounded like sometimes they book them in literally the week before a lot of the time here.

Xavielli · 30/10/2013 09:24

Lucky you hendricks DS2 was 3 yesterday and his funding doesn't start til January :(

Hope everyone is feeling well, we just had birthday cake for breakfast... naughty Mummy!

CokeFan · 30/10/2013 09:33

Morning all - seems like everyone's having scans and appointments now! It's feeling much more real.

I've had an… interesting couple of days. I had my 12 week scan on Saturday and everything was fine. They put me at 11 + 4 and said my nuchal test results will come through the post by the end of the week. All good so far…

On Monday night I felt "something" happen while I was watching TV. (thought I'd peed myself but didn't want to say anything Grin). When I stood up my skirt was covered in blood. Totally freaked out. I called the birthing centre and they said to go to the EPAU in the morning unless I had a lot of pain, in which case A&E would be better.

I went to bed and DH called his parents to come over (they live about 30 minutes away) to look after DD in case we had to go into hospital. It felt like I was having a period and I could feel more blood coming out all the time. We really thought that it was all over but it wasn't painful at all.

Went to the EPAU in the morning (at stupid o'clock because there's always a huge queue and the road that we normally go on was closed because of roadworks). I'd already been for an early scan at 9 weeks because of spotting but this was much worse. They were really kind and I got seen fairly quickly and scanned. Fortunately the baby is fine and the bleeding was caused by some bruising (haematoma?) at the base of the placenta. They were quick to point out that it wasn't caused by the scan on Saturday (not that that had occurred to us) and said that the blood would turn brown and then stop.

I've got a number to call if it happens again but they said not to worry unless I got lots of pain and cramping.

Huge sighs of relief all round.
