bluestone85 · 24/10/2013 12:56

I'm either an olive, a prune or a lime Grin

Hezbean · 24/10/2013 13:05

Squiffie - hope you're doing ok today. Please keep us posted.

Thistle - exciting news about the scan!

Dobe - fingers crossed the worst has passed :-)

Rebecca I'm so tempted to get a Doppler now....!

2 weeks today til my scan - getting a bit impatient now. Still feeling a bit hormonal and grumpy - just hope it passes!!

Spirael · 24/10/2013 13:11

Hope everything is ok with you today, Squiffie!

I'm nearly an olive, here. Think I'm still at the raspberry stage for another couple of days. I was laying on my back earlier though and I think I can feel my womb now. I'm sure that's earlier than last time... Guessing it's because I have no stomach muscles left and it's finding it easier to stretch this time around!

Feeling quite nauseated here today. Being at home rather than work is helping, but one of my damn cats has decided to wee or spray in the hall and I can't find exactly where or get the smell out! I've tried fabreze, washing liquid, white vinegar, bicarb of soda, steam cleaning, etc... And it still reeks! God damn cat!!

Currently freezing my ass off with all the windows open trying to cope with the stench until DH gets home from work and we can get to the store to buy more cleaning products. Bleagh!

Squiffie · 24/10/2013 13:37

Hi ladies, thanks for all the supportive words it means a lot. Fingers crossed everything seems to be ok. Not spoken to epau as its either engaged or they don't answer but not too worried atm.
Went to bed at 8:30 last night, supposed to be working tonight but think I'm going to phone in sick as should be an 8-12 shift Sad
I got some anti sickness meds from the docs yesterday; I only took one then I got the blood so now daren't take them, sticking with the sickness and hoping it eases soon.

Spirael · 24/10/2013 13:47

Squiffie does your doctors surgery offer telephone appointments? You could mention your concerns and about the medication, and if wanted ask to be signed off work.

The nurse practitioner I saw the other day told me that they were much happier signing pregnant women off for a few weeks to better cope with MS than to give drugs for it.

Smelly cats aside, I've found my MS has eased back to manageable levels since I've been able to get a good 12 hours of sleep per night and rest whenever it started to flare up.

Squiffie · 24/10/2013 13:51

They do yes, tonight would be my last shift this week so might hang fire for now but good suggestion to bear in mind, thanks. X

Squiffie · 24/10/2013 13:52

My smelly cat pooped on the floor whilst we were out Angry

Spirael · 24/10/2013 13:58

Moomin likes animals, would she like some free cats? Grin Wink

Squiffie · 24/10/2013 14:04

Ah, now there's a thought mooooomiiin, where are you? Wink

bluestone85 · 24/10/2013 14:06

Hahahahahaha! Moomin probably would Grin.

squiffie has there been any major changes (apart from the obvious) to cause her to be stressed? This might be why she's doing it?

rebeccax2 · 24/10/2013 14:13

Ohh glad things have settled squiffie - it's certainly scary. I can't wait till we're all in the 2nd trimester and the scares ease off a bit!

Rushyswife · 24/10/2013 14:49

Hi all!

I have been a bit of a lurker since I joined the board to add my stats, sorry I did last pregnancy too. I hate the first trimester and refuse to acknowledge I am pregnant till the first scan! Anyway I had my scan today and they moved me forward from 14th May to the 9th so I am now officially 11+6
Still got morning sickness but hoping it is going to get better soon. I have been SO tired and running about after DS is tough but cannot wait for 2nd trimester energy boost!

kally195 · 24/10/2013 14:56

Hello - could I join you please? We're not telling anyone until after the 12 week scan, so it would be lovely to have some people who understand to talk to!

I'm currently ten weeks along with number 1, due 18th May. Scan on the 4th November - looking forward to it and petrified at the same time!

It's all been a bit of a rollercoaster so far. We were trying, but just assumed it would take much longer (DH is smugly referring to himself as "one shot, one kill"). We've just moved back to the UK after the best part of a decade overseas, and I was the most stressed I've ever been when we must of conceived. Found out a couple of weeks after we got back, and all of a sudden my complete inability to cope made sense...

I'm now trying to get my head around being back, new job with lovely 12 hour shifts, OU degree, feeling insanely tired and nauseous and a DH who is disappointed that I'm not more enthusiastic about everything that needs doing to our undecorated, unfurnished house.

Sorry - needed to unload that. I'm normally more cheerful....

dobedobedo · 24/10/2013 15:04

Welcome newbie and lurker! Smile

By all means get stuck in. The more the merrier! Wine (non alcoholic of course)

bluestone85 · 24/10/2013 15:04

Welcome Rushy and Kally :)

Rushy, congratulations on the scan :) xx

Kally, Rant away, thats what we're here for :D Days always get on top of people, but then you have your good days too :) I have my scan on the 4th too :) xx

CbeebiesIsMyLife · 24/10/2013 15:31

Kally welcome. How far into the degree are you and what are you studying? I'm on my 1st year of ou. It's all rather unexpected!

And hi lurker too (I wish I could remember your name :(

moominleigh94 · 24/10/2013 15:36

Welcome Rushy and Kally

Don't try and offload cats on me Shock I'm not a cat person at all. Dogs, hamsters, gerbils, rats, rabbits, guinea pigs, fish, birds (OH's family has 23 owls and birds of prey in their garden), degus, chinchillas... anything except cats Grin

Exhausted after rehearsals today but it was quite funny, every time the warm-up/rehearsal involved anything strenuous, everyone kept checking I was okay and asking if I was sure I wanted to do it... will probably get annoying after a while, but one of my close friends is making me giggle, she keeps quoting the film "Juno" at me and making jokes Grin

LittleBairn · 24/10/2013 15:45

rushy we have the same due date. I hate the 1st tri too is just drags.

kally My DH loves it when I'm sick because it makes it feel so real to him. Hmm its easy for them to be all excited when they don't feel like crap 24/7.
Remind him that you won't really be able to help decorate all that much, heavy lifting isn't advised nor is painting.

I remember being furious a few times during my first pregnacy that I had to go through hell during the pregnacy yet once a baby is born the father has equal right in law. It seems so unfair. Grin

thistlelicker · 24/10/2013 16:19

When does second trimester officially begin!??

Rushyswife · 24/10/2013 16:25

At the end of week 13 I think

kally195 · 24/10/2013 16:27

Thanks for the welcome xx

Cbeebies - I'm on my fifth module of a history degree. I am currently posting on here instead of finishing the assignment which is due today.... What are you doing?

Littlebairn - he is very good at looking after me (he wouldn't let me move a single one of the 90 boxes of our possessions that arrived last week); it's more he wants me to get on with buying stuff and making decisions about paint colours and it's all just a bit overwhelming. I'm not really sure how to explain that choosing the 'wrong' dish drainer currently feels like an end-of-the-world situation!

Rushyswife · 24/10/2013 16:27

Thanks for all the welcomes guys! Nice to be properly on the thread now!

impatientlywaiting · 24/10/2013 16:35

Yep second trimester starts in week 14.

Welcome back Rushy, glad that you are feeling more confident after your scan. And hello and welcome Kally.

CbeebiesIsMyLife · 24/10/2013 16:36

I'm doing psychology, I finished my first assignment 2 weeks early but haven't actually done much since. I'm due on the 14th May which is exactly 2 weeks before te final assignment! I'm really hoping baby makes an early appearience, preferably just before assingnment 6 is due and I can get it all done and in and not have wasted my first year [nervous]
