Yip, I wake up at 5am, start worrying that I'm no longer pregnant and then can't get back to sleep for worrying and eventually get up and do a test to reassure myself!! The next 8 weeks are going to go so slowly!!!

Hollyjokes · 17/11/2013 07:28

I couldn't sleep last night and finally drifted off about 1am. I've been awake since 6.45 this morning. So not too bad but it's no wonder I'm tired all the time!

grobagsforever · 17/11/2013 07:29

Morning all. Had friends round last night and had to decant becks blue into a glass when they were not looking. Friend looked a bit confused that I was ignoring the lovely wine she had brought. Oh well. Also I have a headache this am despite not bloody drinking, WAH. Still fairly symptom free at 6 plus 2. Very mild nausea when hungry, no breast changes. Trying to chill as I didn't have many symptoms with DD apart from breast changes, which I guess are less dramatic this round as I BF'd DD for over two years, so I guess they are already prepped!

DP and I have one lie in each at weekends, the temptation to take them both on the grounds of PG tiredness is sooooooo tempting! Anyone else deprived their DP of his lie in yet? Grin

SmallOlympianBear · 17/11/2013 07:49

Morning. Hope that no-one is feeling too crappy today (feel like I've left my stomach on a roller-coaster). Wave to blueberry, good luck for Thursday. I have a 7-week scan on Friday and am also on progesterone. Grobags, tempting! He has dealt with the night wakings this week though :) This is the first time I haven't got sore boobs, but I had also thought that was because my DD was still having the odd feed. I've now had to stop completely because of taking progesterone, which is quite sad.

Morning all! I can't seem to have a lie-in either. Woke up at 7 a.m today when normally I don't roll out of bed before 11 on a Sunday Grin. Doesn't help that I have got a stinking cold and chest infection!
Congrats blueberry and funkymonk

Choccywoccydodah · 17/11/2013 08:11

Hi can some take me off the list please? Thanks.
Good luck with all your pregnancies x

BlueC2 · 17/11/2013 08:31

Oh choccy I'm so sorry Sad

To those chatting about insomnia I've had awful nights all last week-if the slightest thing woke me it would then take hours to get back to sleep. The last two nights have been better though- I was thinking it was because I stayed up late before heading to bed but also just remembered I had a small nap both afternoons Blush so that could also have helped.

Had a good cry last night as my head just feels v all over the place-the pregnancy is v much wanted but I think I'd just forgotten how all consuming it is in the first trimester so constantly feel guilty for not spending quality time with DS1 or DH cos I'm exhausted or feeling sick. Also getting my head around actually looking after 2 children-DS has been such a good baby we've been quite spoilt so could be in for a shock depending how no.2 is!

Almost finished my dry water biscuits which will then mean I can face the shower and getting DS up Smile hope everyone has a good day

roozocheeks · 17/11/2013 08:44

So sorry to hear that choccy, thinking of you x

MrsA2 · 17/11/2013 08:44

Very sorry choccy and hope to see you back on another month's thread soon.

I'm waking a lot at night too but fall asleep at 9pm (I am literally dropping by then every evening) and slept through - ish - until 8am. I feel SO much better for it this morning. Yesterday I struggled all day and spent half the afternoon lazing on the sofa.

I'm normally really active so finding it quite odd. I am a bit worried about the amount I'm eating (I'm so much hungrier than normal) Vs how little I'm currently exercising... But I just don't feel up to doing any more. I might try a short bike ride - or if not at least a walk - later today.

Is anyone managing to do much exercise at the moment?

Pearlsaplenty · 17/11/2013 08:49

Im so sorry choccy :( it really is so very unfair. My fingers are crossed for you to get a sticky bean soon Flowers Flowers

Hollyjokes · 17/11/2013 09:01

So sorry choccy Hmm

BlueC2 I am also feeling very guilty at the moment as I just haven't got the energy to play loads with DD. I'm also worried about how she is going to be affected by the arrival of a little brother or sister as she is used to having DH and I all to herself. We very much want a second child so we are over the moon that I'm pregnant but I'm struggling with the guilt too!

MrsA I'm the opposite in that I've actually lost my appetite and am having to eat even though I'm not hungry. I haven't felt like exercising much either though so am going to try a walk or something later today with DH and DD I think.

Blueberry234 · 17/11/2013 09:15

Sorry to hear your news choccy x

I am beyond tired, honestly so drained taking #1 to the zoo today do he can run with his friends and I can literally potter behind! I also have his cold which is nice.

Roll on Thursday be happy once I have seen that heartbeat and know the risk of mc decreases by 78%

coco808 · 17/11/2013 09:48

Hope you are ok choccy fingers crossed for you for a sticky bean before chistmas Flowers

Morning all,

Can you count me in....

Got a very strong BFP yesterday. Online EDD shows that I'm 5 weeks pregnant, due on 18th July.

Have DD1 who is nearly 11 months. Excited and nervous.

Looking forward to sharing thi journey with you all.

DoesZingBumpLookBigInThis · 17/11/2013 11:12

morning all.

slight name change to include my "MN name" - so call me Zing please.

I'm 6 weeks tomorrow and have booked to see GP on Thursday.
I have a stinking cold so that makes me feel a little nauseous in the evenings but otherwise fine.

MrsB2013 · 17/11/2013 12:01

Hi everyone!! Not been on much last couple of days so need to catch up! Congratulations and welcome to the newbies joining us!!

Thanks re: sickness, I am a worrier with everything, and I don't know of anyone that managed to avoid sickness! I hope I am one of the lucky ones! Pearls that's interesting, as I do get car sick and also did suffer with bad headaches and the odd migraine which I think was because of the pill!

I'm another one eating loads of bread!! I didn't used to eat much as it makes me so bloated, but I'm finding I need it to keep me full for longer! Beans or cheese on toast is so yummy!

Babymama I've not been peeing any more than normal, I usually wake up at least once in the night anyway lol I have been finding it hard to get back to sleep though!

Choccy so sorry you are leaving us :( Hope you get a sticky bean soon Flowers

ismarah · 17/11/2013 13:06

Here's a delicate question.

Friends of ours have been trying for a BFP for a while now, but had at least two MCs that I know of, one at quite a late stage.

Assuming everything goes OK with my bean, how do I tell them? What do I say? They know we've been trying a bit but we were kind of casual about our attempts and bean was something of a surprise - I guess I somehow didn't think I'd get pregnant. Happy to be pregnant, but wasn't expecting it.

HomeIsWhereTheGinIs · 17/11/2013 14:30

ismarah I've been thinking about this one too. We were TTC for a while and were really happy when our friends managed to get pregnant. It would have made me feel awkward to have one of them act as if their good news was somehow tempered by the fact that it hadn't happened to us yet, or if I thought they were worried about me resenting them for it. If you think they might be upset then perhaps tell them face to face and alone before you tell the group you're all in rather than all at once with other people in the room? I'm sure they'll be thrilled for you. Congratulations!

funkymonk · 17/11/2013 15:41

Ismarah we have been trying for 12months with a miscarriage at 8months. 4 of my close friends all have had babies in the last 2-3months. They all knew my struggles and some of them were more sensitive than others when breaking the news of their pregnancies and then after the birth raving about their perfect babies and how they missed being pregnant.
How close friends are they? If quite close then from my own experience telling them face to face when it is just the 2 of you would be best plan. If not so close then a phone call maybe?
Whatever you do don't send an email to them pretending it's from your unborn baby!!!! I know someone this happened to when their friends knew they had also been trying for a while!

DoesZingBumpLookBigInThis · 17/11/2013 15:44

ismarah

if you worry about their reaction.maybe it's best to wait for an opportunity, until they ask or perhaps you have to turn down an invite and explain your reason.

it is tricky, but after all you are pg, so you should be able to express your happiness about it.

a friend had her twins the day after we found out I had a MC (no heartbeat on scan) - tough luck, but not her fault!
she was so worried that I'd be upset that I wasn't told for a week - bless her!
I thought she was lovely to do that, but it was not necessary for her to be so cautious, as we already have several birthdays of family members and friends the same week.

so I guess yes, be tactful, but no need to hide it IYSWIM.
your pg won't make their MC worse.
shame they have suffered so much though, MCs are horrible.

Howly · 17/11/2013 16:00

Got our BFP today! Due 26th July! Eek!

AuntieMaggie · 17/11/2013 16:20

The advice about breaking the news to friends who have been trying for a while is useful thanks.

DP and I are arguing over names already... there are no names we can agree on :(
