Frizz1986 · 09/10/2013 23:13

Just a quick post as must sleep.

Really enjoyed my nct class. The leader was lovely and all the people were really nice too. I even learnt about all the hormones in labour and trying to establish a positive cycle to ensure labour progresses. I am sure its something i would have learnt eventually but really havent read labour things yet as it still seems so far away.

Plus i was a fatty and got a cheeseburger on the way home! I dont care as its just been one of those weeks. From tomorrow back to eating more appropriately.

Toothfairy78 · 09/10/2013 23:27

frizz you needed that cheeseburger cos you needed cheering up and it's protein.

Thanks to #penisbeaker the only crying I've done today is crying with laughter! Thankfully no puddles or wet upholstery. SQUEEEZE!!!.

humpty I PM'd you but I think #penisbeaker may be causing mumsnet server to struggle. Apologies if you get multiple messages.

Mac2014 · 10/10/2013 07:53

Ahhhh. Had finally caught up on all news and written a huge post ... But my phone lost it.

In short hugs to all who need them, good luck with any tests, wagging fingers at naughty DHs & wishes of disturbed sleep to #penisbeaker ... That tested my pelvic floor!!

Just had an email from our NCT. The course we were booked on has been cancelled... Bummer!! That was one of the key ways I was planning to pay for friends meet people. I will now be a billynomates. Can I join your gang?

Hope all have better days today. Not sure why recruiting to cover maternity is so hard... It sucks. When we should all be getting rest, we get more work!!!

TobyLerone · 10/10/2013 08:26

You can totally join the gang, Mac! That's exactly what happened to us. Well, they changed the dates and venue completely, to ones we couldn't make.

I have to drive my mum and her friend to Gatwick in a bit. They're going to Dubai Envy

Then straight to Westfield when I get back, to eat ALL the frozen yogurt meet DH before his interview.

Then rush back to get DS to rugby for 6.30. I'm going to be knackered tonight!

Good luck for all the GTTs today Flowers

Sultanajo · 10/10/2013 08:29

Well couldnt get on mn last night for some reason and then when I did it lost my mammoth catch up message.

One word - penisbeaker!!! Grin

I have suspended my fb account because I didnt want certain people spreading my news before me and feel so free without it. Am tempted to activate it again to join u guys, but dont feel ready to let fb back in my life just yet....

Good luck with all the GTTs and MW appointments today!

Yay frizz! Knew u would have fun at NCT.

Dont finish work til 10pm tonight so just preparing myself for a lonnnnngggg day!

Sultanajo · 10/10/2013 08:31

Enjoy the Pinkberry Toby! I have never heard of it, but it sounds like a place I would like to go! Grin

MrsAVB · 10/10/2013 08:47

Morning all!
humpty we're not in the same NCT, I think we're the one to the west of you. I am so going to be the one giggling in the corner and punching DH for making me laugh... Ours is only 5 mins walk from our house though so am hoping it works that it will be somewhere that people want to carry on meeting up...
sultana I'm kind of with you on the whole Facebook thing! although I am still on, there's been absolutely no reference to my pregnancy, which is just how I like it, although I am a fan of the selfie, so that might give the game away soon. humpty, is it set up with bat cave privacy? Ie doesn't appear on profile/ newsfeed? I am a secret mumsnetter and know that DH wouldn't be able to resist spying on me here if he got a whiff of it.
blue, choco, frizz and anyone else I've forgotten... Hope you're doing ok, have slept well and have better days today xxx

Naturegirl82 · 10/10/2013 09:18

Hope the GTT's go well today for everyone.

Glad things are sounding a bit more positive with the oh's

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 10/10/2013 09:44

On phone (at antenatal clinic in middle of GTT), so apols if I miss anything.
MrsA it's a secret group, as opposed to closed, which Fb tells me means no one but members of group can even see its existence.
loulou will PM you when I get home, no worries.
mac you can totally join the gang! Grr for your NCT.

GTT so far is okay, nice lady did bloods, lucozade is still vile, but I got it down in one. Twenty minutes in and I'm hungry but not feeling too bad, bean is going mental though! Only one hour forty until food.
book and altered hope yours are going okay.

Will do more Fb friending & adding people to the group when I'm home, not sure my phone brain is up to that now!

MrsGSR · 10/10/2013 10:44

Good luck to those with GTTs today!

Very jealous of the London meet up plans! I can't find any newborn groups around here, but I'm hoping because people move in and out of our estate so often, and generally only stay for a maximum of 3 years, the hive baby group will be welcoming and not scary!

littlealien01 · 10/10/2013 11:03

Hi all

hope all the GTTs go well. mine isnt for a few wks but im nervous about it.

hugs to choco. think ive had at least 1 full on irrational cry everyday this week. poor dh.

currently stressing about movement as baby seems to have totally changed their pattern and be dancing much less he last few days. up till now have had just about enough to reassure me but v quiet tjis morning so far.

last week i was all "thats enough kicking lie still" and now im desperate for movements. fingers crossed its all normal.

anyone else feeling even more knackered than ever after flu jab? ended up taking a day off yesterday and was only out of bed for 5hrs but exhausted again today. dont really feel ill but just want to sleep so badly

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 10/10/2013 11:21

mrsg I'm sure you'll find some lovely mums to hang out with, otherwise, you'll always have us!

alien I am and have been so weepy recently. It comes from nowhere all the bloody time! Ridiculous. Still, have a hug, you're not alone, you have me and loulou to keep you company bathe you in tears.

GTT is over in five mins. Not too bad, overall, but am still going to work from home this afternoon as arranged. Mainly so I can sort out the Fb group!

Lalunya85 · 10/10/2013 11:42

Hey everyone! I just spent an hour (!) at work catchiing up with you all! So much going on it seems - good luck to everyone who is struggling at work, with partners, partners' jobs...

There's a big part of me that just wants everthing to be perfect for baby's arrival - I think that's where the wish to buy stuff, and do all my exercised, and sort out all financial stuff for ideally the next 3 years comes from. We should all give ourselves a break, me thinks. Things will turn out just fine - and the world won't end just because we have a baby. There'll still be time to sort out relationships, baby stuff, money, work stuff then!

Having a really positive week for a change, so hope I can spread some of it here Wink

BookTart · 10/10/2013 11:51

Morning all. GTT is done, and I am at home having inhaled a plate of casserole and a bag of crisps. The hospital were brilliant at getting me in and out as quickly as possible, and it was totally painless, so don't worry littlealien. I had a couple of wobbly spells, but I always get those when I don't eat constantly regularly. I was expecting the baby to go mad after the glucose drink, but she didn't. I think I must have the laziest baby in the world. Fingers crossed she's so laid back once she's here :D

Have fun at Westfield toby. Once you've been to Pinkberry I think you should aso visit Crepe affair :) I used to live walking distance from Westfield, but oddly it is pretty much as quick to get there now I live in Kent, so I haven't lost any vital spending opportunities!

MrsVDB · 10/10/2013 13:28

humpty would you mind pm me too please as cant work it out! Thanks :)

TobyLerone · 10/10/2013 13:57

Back from Gatwick. Leaving for Westfield soon. Knackered!

Glad the GTTs weren't too bad :)

MrsGSR · 10/10/2013 14:10

alien I've been exhausted since the flu jab but I don't know if that's because of the jab, the antibiotics I'm on or not being able to sleep on my left hand side so waking up all the time!

MrsGSR · 10/10/2013 14:11

Glad your GTT wasn't too bad book

Toby your day is tiring me out just reading about it!

TobyLerone · 10/10/2013 14:37

Don't be too tired on my behalf! DH cocked up and his interview is at Westfield W12 not Stratford! Luckily he realised with an hour to spare so he should get there in time. But I'm not going!

AnotherStitchInTime · 10/10/2013 14:47

Hello all :)

Tooth your work are cuntpuffins, seriously grrrr.

Toby hope you get to relax and put your feet up tomorrow. Stock up on that frozen yoghurt to see you through :)

Glad GTT was ok book

blue so sorry you are having a difficult time, have you thought of asking him if he would go to Relate. A neutral forum for airing issues could be useful?

Hugs choco, a good cry always makes me feel better along with chocolate and a Brew.

I have found local children's centre pre-schooler and baby groups quite good for meeting other mums. I have also made a few more mum friends since dd1 started school. My local churches also often have baby and toddler groups where you can have a chat and a tea and biscuit (not allowed in children's centres due to health and safety). I am in London too.

AnotherStitchInTime · 10/10/2013 14:48

Oh no, no frozen yoghurt toby :( At least you can relax now for a bit.

MrsGSR · 10/10/2013 14:55

Thank goodness he realised in time toby! DH has done similar, when he was stationed in Germany I drove him to the train station so he could fly back after leave. Halfway there he looked at his train ticket and realised it terminated in Gatwick not Heathrow as he'd thought. Turns out not only was he flying out of Gatwick, that was also where he had flown to, he was convinced it had been Heathrow!

TobyLerone · 10/10/2013 15:01

The thing is, he doesn't even want the job! It's no more money than he's on currently and it might have been worth it because there would be no tube travel if it were at Stratford, therefore less travelling time and cheaper fares. But to get to the other side of London every day would cost more and take much longer than where he currently works, for no more money.
He was headhunted by another company with whom he had a telephone interview yesterday, and he wants that job much more. So I've just texted him asking him if it's worth busting a gut to get to an interview for a job he won't even take if they offer it to him. But no answer, so I'm guessing he's already on the way there.

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 10/10/2013 15:40

fly hello! Sorry you too are having job stress. Bloody work.

toby your OH! No frozen yoghurt - but at least you get a rest. I once went to Gatwick a full DAY early for a flight. The Easyjet woman did this face ---> Hmm and told me to 'go home and check carefully in future'...Grin

altered how was the GTT? Glad book's went well, mine was fine (I should really have gone into work, but having said I'd work from home, i thought sod it.

Instead I went to visit DH who was at our NEW HOUSE (squeeee!!) doing inventory and having a chunk of the furniture my lovely MIL has donated delivered. She is batty, we have three gorgeous armchairs (one is leather Chesterfield style, which I have mentally appropriated as mine), a beautiful walnut occasional table, a full on sideboard (with felt lined cutlery drawer that our BHS cutlery is going to look lovely in), two single beds which are saggy beyond anything, a gorgeous Louis XIV style dressing table, a wardrobe, and a fireguard. For a house with no working chimneys.

I love most of it though - oh, and she donated her old piano to us! We have to get it tuned and replace the cloth at the back, but it's in good nick. Hurrah!

Now to buy useful things - like a bed for us, a sofa, bookcases etc... Grin

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 10/10/2013 15:41

Oh, meant to say, I think I've PM'd loulou and MrsV, but shout if not.
