Kit is awesome Bohemond Grin
My online name has been Kit for years... it's the coolest name for a girl or a boy.. but DH won't let me use it.....

Bohemond · 04/10/2013 10:22

Bummer!
Perhaps you can hold on and hope he/she looks like a Kit when they come out...

Chip86 · 04/10/2013 11:06

Oh moomin that made me laugh

I have tonsillitas yay go me and some antibiotics nervouse about taking them though

Oh i cant spell today sorry all

And i love all the names im going to but ours in a bit all the names mean somthing Smile

AliOh · 04/10/2013 11:13

Knew I would jinx myself last night when I said ms was tailing off. Had to do a radio interview this morning (luckily recorded not live) and had to get radio man to phone me back whilst I went and threw up - whoops. Don't know why they thought it a good idea to nominate me to do it - hard to sound enthusiastic about anything when sick and tired :(

Chip86 · 04/10/2013 11:16

I put them in stats thread please let me know if i have missed somthing e.g dodgy nick name or spells somthing strange or has a bad meaning in another lanuguage

Thanks everyone for your help Thanks

And i love everyone else ideas

Spirael · 04/10/2013 11:43

I've added the possible name ideas we're considering to the thread. Interesting to see everyones ideas! Lots of lovely names suggested so far. :)

We have some naming issues as our surname is a nightmare. It's quite long and begins with a common vowel followed by lots of L's, which rules out an awful lot of names as you either end up with a tongue twister, a pantomime name or unwanted words appearing if you have initial(s) followed by surname.

DH and I also share the same first name initial, so we vowed not to give any of our DC the same initial as us - it's confusing enough for post already!

impatientlywaiting · 04/10/2013 11:46

Liking the additions of the names column.

Chip you know how you have Spare in the boys and girls column? Is that as in no first name at the moment but middle name option? Or do you mean you might call the baby Spare? I've never heard that name before?

OP posts:
Chip86 · 04/10/2013 11:50

Hehehe spare as in incase baby pops out and does not look like our top two choices or a friend beats us to it Grin

Chip86 · 04/10/2013 12:06

Also the spare ones are there to help any of the lovely ladies struggling to come up with names Smile

impatientlywaiting · 04/10/2013 12:10

Haha that makes sense Chips you never can tell with mumsnet though.

One of my favourite things is looking through the baby naming forum. It really skews your opinion though. I love the name Ottilie for a girl, but not sure if it's a bit unusual for me. Started seeing it in loads of threads, one person even said they thought it was getting really common, checked online and it's 850th most used girls name last year. So far from overused. But mumsnet can have you totally thinking the opposite.

Spirael LOVE your names. Leonidas and Artemis would make good twins. Is Leonidas the main geezer in 300?

AliOh · 04/10/2013 12:12

Added mine - they will be changing constantly as I have a long list for both boy and girl stored on my phone and keep which I keep adding to and deleting some every week!

impatientlywaiting · 04/10/2013 12:12

Oh someone mentioned this website on a baby name thread and I love it

{{http://names.darkgreener.com/}}

You type in your chosen name and it shows you a graph of how popular it's been in the last 16 years.

OP posts:
Bohemond · 04/10/2013 12:13

Not that I am suggesting you would name your child after a Gerard Butler character of course.

impatientlywaiting · 04/10/2013 12:13

Oh sorry I used the wrong brackets for the link.

It's names.darkgreener.com/

AliOh - I think I would be sick doing a radio interview without ms! Hope it went ok in the end.

It's Friday girls! Few hours to go until we can get back on the sofa :)

shanks313 · 04/10/2013 12:22

Hi everyone

Been feeling so tired this week...nausea only occasionally.
Been eating salmon and cucumber sandwich every day for lunch...even went to M and S and Tesco this morning looking for something I want and still no luck. I love spicy food.. don't want at moment.
Got a little tickly throat so been drinking hot lemon.. don't want it to get any worse.
Names we have for DC3 is Callen for a boy and maybe Cote for a girl.

7+3

AliOh · 04/10/2013 12:25

Thanks minions went ok eventually, mr radio man was very sympathetic - have to another one next month so hopefully will be feeling better by then!

After sickness episode this morning I am now scoffing through two very large sausage rolls and contemplating another one. Friday morning in work means coffee morning so always lots of very tasty home made treats :) yum!

Thanks for the link to the website impatiently will be working my way through my name list over the weekend Grin

impatientlywaiting · 04/10/2013 12:26

AliOh I love Finian. I have a nephew Finlay so too close to that for me to go for it, but I do love it.

Spirael · 04/10/2013 12:56

I'm not sure Bohemond, I've never seen 300! Those two names would go nicely for twins... But we're not having twins. Or, at least, we'd better not be!! We can barely afford another one. Wink

DH and I prefer our DC to have a long pretentious name (especially when combined with our behemoth surname!) to wheel out when they're in biiig trouble, or at graduation, or when they get married, or knighted, etc. Grin

But, for day to day, we'd need a cute nickname that still goes ok with our surname. So the names we've currently got shortlisted would become Cas, Leo(n), Penny, Vivi or Arty/i/ie respectively.

SkipandTink · 04/10/2013 13:10

Hi everyone, just had a brief look through the previous messages, and I really hope everything is ok for those of you who have had scares?
I love that some of you are thinking of the name Dylan, as my little boy is called Dylan and he's adorable lol he was named after Bob Dylan though.
Yesterday I felt worse than ever, constant sickness, not able to keep anything down. Today is slightly better. I can just about keep plain crackers down! I really hope I am over the worst of it! Definitely looking forward to the second trimester anyway :)

Bohemond · 04/10/2013 13:14

Worth a look - I loved it and possibly some new names to choose from!
The plot revolves around King Leonidas (Gerard Butler), who leads 300 Spartans into battle against Persian "god-King" Xerxes (Rodrigo Santoro) and his army of more than 300,000 soldiers. As the battle rages, Queen Gorgo (Lena Headey) attempts to rally support in Sparta for her husband. The story is framed by a voice-over narrative by the Spartan soldier Dilios (David Wenham).

I have the exact opposite problem - very down to earth surname (Coronation St link as noted above, also cricket if one were to want to emphasise the mc aspect); would love interesting name such as Artemis, Leonidas etc but am not sure would go AT ALL. Hence Poppy or Tom. Am now concerned that there may be a character currently in Corrie with those names but don't dare to watch it and have to start again!

ThePFJ · 04/10/2013 13:20

Chip Meadow is a beautiful name. River is gorgeous too me thinks....

snoozysleeper · 04/10/2013 13:28

Liking lots of the names on the stats page Smile

DH and I haven't got a names list yet Confused every time one of us broaches a name, the other disagrees.... Hopefully we'll start compiling a list in second trimester!! I don't think it'll be anytime soon otherwise!

JessicaTheWereRRRabbit · 04/10/2013 13:56

Afternoon! Just added our names to the stats page - there are some gorgeous names on there. Chip we both have Mariannes Grin
