So I used the magic 1000th post in the last thread... ooops Grin

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
CubanoHabana · 17/09/2013 20:30

I was thinking Mia or Mae as a middle name for henrietta shropshire ps I love it, I've not come across one and as a teacher I really do (unfortunately) associate certain names with the 'bad' kids.

I've also been thinking about those who are no longer posting with us, as been told at work by someone that she has had 2 miscarriages within 3 months, although she is actually upbeat because she was originally told she was unlikely to fall pregnant at all, so fingers crossed for her.

I've been feeling very sick today and been carrying a bin around with me in case I need to sprint for the toilets... At least the kids have been lovely about it! However I'm not overly sure it's pregnancy related... Not had any queasiness since very beginning and its been all day, also just feeling dreadful. There is a sickness bug going around the school so not sure whether it may be that...

I've also had a fair amount of random sharp pains but still no movement yet! Scan not until 3rd :-(

CubanoHabana · 17/09/2013 20:33

sugar that was going to be my next question - those who have bought the new look coat, is it wearable after pregnancy without bump, as I am loathe to buy it when I have a perfectly acceptable coat I could wear open, as realistically, I go everywhere in the car!

Also, congrats on all the scans!

Sassy20 · 17/09/2013 20:39

Cubano - my personal feeling is that it's not really wearable after as will look a bit lopsided with length at front longer due to space for growing bump. X

Somanychanges · 17/09/2013 20:44

Ooh Tiny I really like that navy quilted jacket, I might have to get that one. That's if my husband ever decides to admit I need maternity clothes and parts with some money.

Milkandtwo · 17/09/2013 20:44

oh my god - Zara baby clothes: Someone needs to stage an intervention. Hide my credit card. THIS IS A CRY FOR HELP.

Sassy20 · 17/09/2013 20:45

Congrats on your scans and team blue and team pink news Laura and Sugar! Very exciting. I have till 1st October before I can find out. Seems ages but I guess it's only two more weeks - I just want to know everything's ok with the baby since I've felt so rubbish and tired compared to last preg. X

misskatamari · 17/09/2013 21:01

Awwww congratulations on all the scans Grin

I'm loving the name suggestions too - Henrietta is lovely Shropshire!

Cubano - I hope you feel better soon. I've got the new look coat and it seems like it would be okay for after pregnancy too but also has room for a bump. Such a bargain too!

Ahhhh I'm in bed ready for a good nights sleep (fingers crossed) as its a long day with open evening tomorrow. Lol one of my year 11s asked the TA if I was pregnant today. It is definitely getting pretty obvious - seem to be getting bigger by the day. Still not much definite movement tho - but my placenta is at the front so is kind of blocking it Hmm. I do feel some things on my left side but nothing super obvious. It's a bit annoying as I really want to feel proper kicks but at least it's not keeping me up at night some shall be thankful for now.

Are you guys still sleeping on your backs okay? I seem fine in both sides and my back - hope its okay to sleep any which was until it becomes uncomfortable.

Awwww DH and i just had fun putting a baby grow on one if the cats Grin she wasn't very impressed but did look very cute!

misskatamari · 17/09/2013 21:06

On my god how bloody creepy are these - toys made with milk teeth so kid can keep them! horrid

tinypolkadot · 17/09/2013 21:07

There's a 15% code on the net somewhere somany if you do go for it.

I was also thinking of those who no longer post this morning when I got up, and was thinking about the lady with the twins. Hope she's ok and just started posting elsewhere.

Hope Champagne is ok, I don't think I've seen her about for a while.

And congrats to all those who've had scans today!

Littleen · 17/09/2013 21:11

Congrats to everyone on finding out their team! :)
I have a problem with food - I can't seem to fit in enough O.o
Basically, I try to be balanced and put lots of veg on my plate (half the plate) but after finishing them, I can barely fit in anything else! So baby is currently fed on bread and small amounts of fruit during the day, and broccoli for dinner. I'm not a huge fruit person, and can't afford them, so using that for snacks doesn't really work - I normally rely on veg, but surely I must fit some protein in too somewhere. Wut, wut.

LittlePandaBear · 17/09/2013 21:31

Anyone else watching midwives? My heart rate doubles just watching the screaming women but I can't look away!

tinypolkadot · 17/09/2013 21:34

I'm watching, glad her baby came out finally!

LittlePandaBear · 17/09/2013 21:41

I'm always amazed that these women don't mind the cameras on them and being more of less naked on tv. It's such a private and difficult time, sharing it with the world is not what I'll be doing!

But seeing the babies come out gets me all emotional.

tinypolkadot · 17/09/2013 21:45

I couldn't do it. I wonder if they get paid?

LittlePandaBear · 17/09/2013 21:49

They must do. But they couldn't pay me enough!

It is still confirming with me that I don't want to try the 'natural' way, and want another c-section again! Quick jab in the back, cut open my scar, out baby comes, stitch me up, done! in real life I was a mess going through this but suddenly it seems the simpler option!

tinypolkadot · 17/09/2013 22:05

I have no idea. I'd like to be one of the calm serene women where the baby just emerges, although I'm sure it will be very different in RL!

Shropshiremummy2B · 17/09/2013 22:23

DH and I laughed at Griff being a girl, then DH told me he'd like a water birth. He is a big swimmer and an even bigger fisherman so I can see that, but he reckons he can do it all on pethedine. Whatever. I saw him on Sunday with a jippy tummy and he was ready for an epidural then. Pathetic. But it's good to know he's put some thought into his birth plan incase the time comes.

Night preggos, congrats on blues, pinks, yellows and general healthy pregnancies and a happy bunch of girls x

laura0007 · 17/09/2013 22:33

Congrats on team pink sugar. That's one of each today, pink, blue and yellow!

Shropshire... He will be Leo Elliot and you are welcome to my girls names although I don't think they are posh enough for you!

The sonographer said she should have known he was a boy as when she first looked he had one hand behind his head chillaxing and the other between his legs having a play! Typical!

Littlebear10 · 17/09/2013 22:41

Shropshire - I think Henrietta's a great name, it was on my list. I also like Hettie and Hattie.

We are having real problems with the name issue, DP doesn't like any of my choices and vice versa. I like Edward, Sebastian and Jacob he wants an anglo saxon name like Wulfgar or Fairfax! This is what I am up against.

Has anyone done any pram research? I haven't had the chance yet but this seems like a good deal:
www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00BDHZJZA/ref=nosim
But don't want to rush into buying something blind.

Have just noticed the time, why am I not asleep?

pettyprudence · 17/09/2013 22:55

ooh I am going to have to watch this episode of midwives as its in Cardiff! I have zero intention of using the mlu but heard Tatiana is in it and I have met her a few times at a bf clinic and she was amazing. I'm going to keep my fingers crossed that she does community rotation and that it coincides with Feb and that she just so happens to be on call the day i give birth (I am needing a LOT of coincidences here Grin)

lyndsey90 · 18/09/2013 00:21

little.. Have also noticed the time.... LOL
I finished work at 9pm.. That's my excuse ;) x

sunflowered · 18/09/2013 06:42

petty Tatiana was great! If I get a mw who can deal with me like she did the panicking and very distressed lady they showed her with I will be a very happy lady.

On a completely unrelated note, I booked onto a lazy daisy course yesterday and tried to explain it to dh (ante natal yoga with elements of tai chi and hypnobirthing??) I think he understood, because he then sent me an internet pic of a panda with short legs and a round tummy doing a roly poly... I explained forcefully that he should respect and admire my panda-like body Angry because if he thinks its like that now he should wait until christmas

Milkandtwo · 18/09/2013 07:36

On midwives last night - was anyone else shocked when, on TWO of the births, the fellas whipped out a camera phone and snapped away mid, erm...extrusion? Is this normal and I am woefully out of touch? If my DH tried to take a photo of me legs akimbo with a head hanging out of my tuppence I would ram it up his arse in a fit of rage. Was Shock

Thingymajigs · 18/09/2013 07:48

I would be horrified if DP got out his phone mid pushing. Especially considering his penchant for uploading every insignificant event straught to FB without asking. Fortunately DP says he will completely avoid the business end. Although if he thinks this will avoid seeing any blood and grossness he's got a shock coming. I suppose I should prepare/terrify him with some OBEM or Midwives episodes.
