Well, here's hoping!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Also, had another massive and really acidic vomit this evening. I'm now thinking I should have titled this thread: Not Blooming, but Blooming Marvellous!

Yeah I was also worried about cat-baby suffocation, though I suspect they will avoid baby like the plague. Just in case I'll be getting a net to put over cot and will let you know how I get on with foil/tape aversion training!

misskatamari · 21/08/2013 20:18

No weird weeing from our cats luckily. Apparently they do get really affectionate due to pregnancy hormones or something. When my heavily pregnant best friend came to stay we went out to ikea and got home to a trail of feathers up the stairs and a dead bird in the middle of the futon shed been sleeping in - like a thoughtful present from the cats! Hope they don't decide to be as nice to me!

One of ours has long hair and keeps getting poo caught in it at the moment - bloody nightmare! I don't wanna go near her incase she's carrying pooey germs around but she's the one who likes me and always wants cuddles. DH has bathed her this evening and keeps trying to trim her fur in the area but she's not having any of it. Might need to take her to the vets for a trim bless her.

Milkandtwo · 21/08/2013 20:22

Haha yes that reminded me of the time I shaved the (fairly feral) cat's arse with DH's beard trimmers (subsequently binned) She's not had dangle berries since - I think it was so traumatic she's specifically worked out a new method! Poor cat. So undignified.

misskatamari · 21/08/2013 20:29

Lol I know - I feel so bad for her! We've got a special pet trimmer but she just won't let us do it! Must persevere (whilst wearing body armour!)

CubanoHabana · 21/08/2013 20:34

Both of my are huge Maine coons so very long fur...

lyndsey90 · 21/08/2013 20:40

I love my Doppler so much... Is there a limit on how much they should be used?? I love listening to the movement noises!!

Milkandtwo · 21/08/2013 20:45

Yes it took DH to wrestle with her with her swaddled in a towel and I was wearing firemans gauntlets! We still got shredded. Like I say - traumatic.

CubanoHabana · 21/08/2013 20:50

I have a nice scar on my arm from last time I tried that with my girl cat, luckily she doesn't seem to get the poo crumbs now, just wet feet (yuck), my boy does but is such a huge softy that you can literally do anything with him eg wear him round your neck like a scarf...

misskatamari · 21/08/2013 20:55

Awww sounds so cute cubano! Milkandtwo I think well need to try the swaddling! She's normally so placid but anything like this she goes mental - I had to get her sedated at the vets when she needed a blood test as two of them couldn't manage it!

My dopplers not working today Hmm think I must have left it on by accident and the battery has run down - either that or it's super shoddy!

Zazou1 · 21/08/2013 21:08

Crikey, new thread already! Must do better with keeping up and posting....by the time I get round to checking in the pm am so exhausted I just want to sleep Smile

Congrats mrscookie that's fab news!!

Re celebrities- I am also sadly obsessed....am quite pleased that the Cowell woman looks pretty preggo for about 10 weeks or whatever so feel better about my spate tyre Smile daily mail online Blush is good for spying on preggo celebs!

Also having major vivid dreams-prob because I'm sleeping so light due to multiple nighttime toilet trips. Joy.

jazzcat28 · 21/08/2013 21:09

We have 2 male cats and 1 female. All normal behaviour so far. Ours only have access to the garden, kitchen and dining room all with tiles/ laminate floor. So am cleaning with dettol twice a week. No way are they going near Moses basket/cot - one is the size of a small dog and would definitely flatten a baby!

Thanks for all the maternity tights suggestions!

After getting this far with virtually zero symptoms, tonight I hit a real low. DH cooked steak and chips and I couldn't eat even a third of it without retching. Haven't actually been sick but felt horrid. Generally feel more hungry during the day than evenings so perhaps bean was trying to tell me to cut down!

CubanoHabana · 21/08/2013 21:17

I seem to be eating a lot less than usual, no sickness or feeling sick (only was nauseous at very beginning) but just not eating as much... Have actually lost 1 pound from pre-pregnancy weight...

Not sure what's going on! I normally snack all day on junk, although I have started having cereal for breakfast and never used to have breakfast, so maybe this is the reason?

sunflowered · 21/08/2013 21:38

Dh has just told me he might not be able to get out of work for my scan tomorrow - things have come up that he needs to be in the office for Sad iI know it's not the end of the world, and the outcome of the scan won't be changed by him being there or not, and it's not a job you can always plan for, but I can't help thinking they'd manage to cover it if he was sick or on holiday. He's so harsh about other people changing just social plans because of work, but because 'this is really critical' it's fine for him to pull out and not even apologise Sad

sorry for the rant. I don't have a peeing cat to tell stories about but my neighbour's is sitting at the back door watching me stew!

HarlemWobble · 21/08/2013 21:58

Evening! Just popping in quickly to let you know our offer on the house was accepted! Grin

Keeping everything crossed all is ok with the valuations and survey and that we don't get guzumped, but am quietly optimisitic we will soon be in our family home!

Hope your all doing ok. Sorry to those still feeling ill. I threw up this evening with absolutely no warning. Luckily I was right by the kitchen sink.

LittlePandaBear · 21/08/2013 22:08

Zazou - pleased to have a fellow daily mail celeb 'news' fan to chat to! I've been on my own reading heat in the corner as the rest are talking cats and I don't have one.

Although if you think a cat weeing on your carpets are bad, wait until you start potty training a child...

Great news Harlem about your house! Fingers crossed for you!

HarlemWobble · 21/08/2013 22:10

Sunflowered that's so frustrating about your DH's work. Fingers crossed for you that it's not essential of him to be in the office.

HarlemWobble · 21/08/2013 22:31

Thanks Panda x-post!

I'm off to google celeb baby bumps...

CubanoHabana · 21/08/2013 22:53

Congrats harlem that's fantastic news!

Shropshiremummy2bLaFay · 21/08/2013 23:05

zazou & panda I'm with you on the celeb thing too. When I found out I was pregnant Frankie Sandford had just come out, and out and out. Jeeeeesus, talk about blooming!

Sadly the Daily Mail and Facebook apps are checked hourly and occasionally jazzed up with a look at my seven million pregnancy apps. This week I'm an avocado and a turnip. Wonder if il still be checking them when it's a watermelon. I'm pretty sure that il be well award of its size by then.

Shropshiremummy2bLaFay · 21/08/2013 23:06

Award=aware. Obvs.

vix206 · 22/08/2013 07:16

Lyndsey my gp told me to limit doppler use to once a week for 20 minutes.

Since I've felt movement at 12 weeks mine has been sat in the drawer Smile

18+2 and still (impatiently) waiting for scan date Grin

DS is 3 in just over a week and potty trained 6 months ago. Also have 2 cats. DS hasn't once wee'd on the carpets but my cats are an absolute nightmare!!! Confused

Milkandtwo · 22/08/2013 07:48

I'm getting bleach cleanable carpets fitted next week. Seemed like a good call... Cats don't wee on carpets but the'yre quite pukey and that stuff stains!

Sassy20 · 22/08/2013 07:49

Congratulations on your offer been accepted Harlem - great news. Just don't do what we did and move the day after your due date! That was dh's suggestion when dd hadn't arrived on time - she then arrived 6 days after we moved in so amazingly had most things ready! Smile

Milkandtwo · 22/08/2013 07:50

Also I use my Doppler daily but only for about 30 seconds at a time just to find the heart beat, listen for a tic, say hello then away it goes. I love it!
