Well, here's hoping!

OP posts:

Milkandtwo · 28/08/2013 05:59

zazou are you in Bristol too then? I had a choice between St Michael's or Southmead and chose the former after hearing they were filming at the latter! (didn't know what time of year) Can't imagine anything worse than my sweaty moo-ing being aired to the nation.

Awake at 5.30 today. Brilliant.

Shropshiremummy2bLaFay · 28/08/2013 07:17

No way zazou!!! That's annoying though, if they're filming on November we won't get to see it til January. Boooooo.

HarlemWobble · 28/08/2013 07:57

Thanks for adding me to the FB group MissKat

Zazou in my notes I have a list of what to expect at each MW appointment, and for my 16 week one it says in big bold letters, 'No fetal auscultation'. So no hearing a heartbeat for me either. Guess i'll be waiting till the 20 week scan to hear this little one then!

Champagne was yesterday your first day back at work since being signed off? Hope it went well and you're taking it easy. Can't believe people ignored your baby on board badge though!

BTW, the outfit links posted yesterday were too cute. I'll definitely be picking up bits from H&M after my 20 week scan!

jazzcat28 · 28/08/2013 07:58

I think obem is usually on in January anyway... not sure if that's a good or bad thing only weeks before its our turn. Found the first bbc midwife episode a bit awkward to watch - cried a little when the twins started crying!

Zazou1 · 28/08/2013 08:19

Milk yes am in Bristol too! Chose St Michaels too but the OBEM spies are everywhere!!

Harlem-at least it's not just me-rubbish we can't hear heartbeat for another few weeks Sad

Am sooooo exhausted today and have developed a constant headache. Great.

Have a good day preggos!

EeyoreIsh · 28/08/2013 08:41

I'd be very upset if I don't get to hear baby's heartbeat at my appointment today.

I'm working from home today, so lovely to have a lie in Smile

Thisisfreakingmeout · 28/08/2013 08:48

In case anyone struggled like me: to PM you scroll to the top and click inbox. Then there is an option to message.

I am banned from watching MWs and OBEM and I am quite sure that is the right choice for me! DH is enforcing the rule.

Milkandtwo · 28/08/2013 08:55

How funny zazou! Are you going for the new MLU there? You seen what it's like yet?
At clinic waiting for the midwife. Arrived to lots of shrieking nurses - DH had to catch a (admittedly huge) spider for them. Knight in shining armour and that... Smile

misskatamari · 28/08/2013 09:15

I watched one OBEM a while ago and decided I should not watch them! At the moment I am quite chilled and unworried about labour but that just made me shit myself!

What I think is baby bubbles is happening really frequently at the moment - it's so weird - it feels like the baby is farting or something (takes after its mummy lol!)

LittlePandaBear · 28/08/2013 09:22

Morning all,

Been catching up on this thread - it was my birthday yesterday so I've been busy this weekend. Had a lovely day off work, and although DH had to work I left my DD with her childminder for a few hours whilst I had lunch and a shopping trip with a friend - something you just can't do properly with a 2 year old! I bought a few tops that weren't maternity but have plenty of tummy room for me to expand!

I also saw Midwives yesterday and got all emotional everytime I saw a newborn. What surprised me was that DH didn't tell me to turn it off, and even started cooing at the newborns too (and he hadn't been drinking Grin). I think he's finally realising that we're going to have another one - he's always Mr Cautious and gets worried that things won't work out but we have no reason to think it won't. But I agree that I would never be on one of those programmes in a million years! I wonder if they offer to pay the people featured? They could never pay me enough!

There is a picture of Michael Buble and his model wife on the daily mail site today, they've just had a baby boy called Noah. She must have just given birth in the picture and she looks amazing.

I have my 16 week appointment today, although I'm 15+6 (well I'm nearly 16 weeks!) Have to bring DD with me so I hope it doesn't take too long, but I do want to hear the heartbeat!

I've been struggling to sleep too - I wake up around 3.30/4 for a wee in the night and just can't get myself back to sleep for hours. I don't think it's my body being uncomfortable, I just seem to have rubbish running through my mind. Hopefully I can relax more soon!

I'll pm someone about the facebook group.

EeyoreIsh · 28/08/2013 09:39

my bump is feeling very lonely on the fb page! I'd love to see other bumps!

Malteaser1982 · 28/08/2013 09:44

I watched 2 episodes of OBEM yesterday too! It was a first as we don't get it here. I loved it though wouldn't dream of being on it BlushShock.

Insomnia has struck here as well - get up at around 1am daily for a pee and it takes me over an hour to drift back to sleep. Last night DD woke me up again with a cough just as I fell asleep again and then woke up for another pee at 5am. When I finally managed to get some more sleep I had a very stupid dream which had me almost having a panic attack! Aargh now I can't keep my eyes open!

Milkandtwo · 28/08/2013 09:45

Eeyorish I have a bump pic but I can't seem to upload on mobile so need to wait until I'm in front of a laptop

Malteaser1982 · 28/08/2013 09:46

Oh and good morning! yawn ...

Eyeorish I'd put a pic up ... it's just that there's no bump yet! And no scanner for scan pic too Sad (scanner only for scan pic not for bump Grin)

vix206 · 28/08/2013 10:04

Ok Ive been v brave and posted a bump pic Grin

Bearfrills · 28/08/2013 10:13

I think some areas don't listen to the heartbeat at 16wks now as it can sometimes be hard to find and it'd be worrying for mums if they couldn't find it. One of my friends wasn't offered a listen in to the baby at 16wks and the MW told her it was to avoid unnecessary worry. They do listen in where I live but DD they couldn't find her (she was a hider) and I actually cried because I'd had a mmc at 15wks in my previous pregnancy and was scared it had happened again. The MW sent me for a walk and tried again, although she wouldn't usually do that, and we got a fleeting listen before she hid again.

Bearfrills · 28/08/2013 10:13

I'll put one up later today, DD is poorly so she's Velcro'd to me.

EeyoreIsh · 28/08/2013 10:14

Good bump pics, except of course now I'm worried mine is to small Grin !

But then I am tall and wide of hips, so plenty of space for baby.

littlestgirlguide · 28/08/2013 10:29

Your bump is bigger than mine was at that stage in my first pregnancy Eeyore, and I think we are about the same size and height. I had no bump, at all, til 20 weeks, and it remained tiny till at least 26-30 weeks when suddenly it went massive.

jazzcat28 · 28/08/2013 10:41

Have posted my fatty bump pic... feeling huge!

EeyoreIsh · 28/08/2013 10:58

Thanks for the reassurance littlest. I'm in my new maternity jeans today and I'm worried the midwife will laugh when she sees the size of my bump!

Shropshiremummy2B · 28/08/2013 11:02

I'n not overly concerened about my bump, but I am about my mammoth arse. My mother says it's where i'm storing my breast milk?!?! How much frikkin milk does this baby need? Confused Sad Confused Sad

On another note, does anyone else have an itchy tummy button?!

sunflowered · 28/08/2013 12:12

Insomnia here too - off on holiday Friday and a million and one things still left to do that are buzzing round my head.

Midwives last night prompted full on.argument with moody dh. The one bit of screaming was 'disgusting,' 'too loud' and he 'didn't want to listen to that' (volume was down and he was in another room). He has some important lessons to learn before february I think [evil knowing smiley face]. I think I might ply him with wine on holiday and give him a lesson on all the gory details useful info I've learnt here.

Will pm about the facebook group soon - though might be when I hit the departure lounge and can finally leave work behind! Everyone else is back from their holidays and inventing urgent things to be done which keep coming my way Sad

jazzcat28 · 28/08/2013 12:50

Am doing a friend a favour this afternoon by looking after his 3.5yr old... sudden realisation I have nothing to entertain a child with except a few DVDs with a U rating! I guess footy in the garden will kill a few mins...

Misskat saw your Avent pics on fb - did you manage to get them at the amazing boots price? I tried but it says they are out of stock
