Paracetamol. That's it!

They don't really seem to know much about it. Extra scans (which I was having anyway) and that's all they keep saying. According to google, hopefully the pain and ctrx should subside in a couple of weeks.

Until then it's pretty much bedrest :(

TobyLerone · 07/09/2013 21:19

Shock sarahl! How awful :(
Your poor family. I hope she makes a full and quick recovery.

MrsGSR · 07/09/2013 21:22

Your poor family Sarah :( keeping fx for your niece Flowers

That doesn't sound like fun toby :( I hope the pain stops soon.

Frizz1986 · 07/09/2013 21:29

Omg guys.....

sarahl how awful. Hope everything is ok. Got my fingers crossed that all is well.

toby fx for you too. That must be horrible and exhausting. Hope they go away soon and you are able to have some good rest.

AnotherStitchInTime · 07/09/2013 21:30

Sarah, how terrible, my stomach lurched when I read your news :( I will keep your niece and family in my thoughts and prayers Thanks

Toby have you tried hot water bottles and back massages? Paracetamol does nothing for bloody contractions, I don't know why they bother suggesting it. Have you got lots of things to keep you occupied during your confinement?

MrsVDB · 07/09/2013 21:36

Thanks another this is the 1 I found 2 and they have a couple near me but £10 a time plus need £60 ish membership too

MrsVDB · 07/09/2013 21:42

Oh goodness sarah what awful news. I hope she is ok. Your poor family

TobyLerone · 07/09/2013 21:42

Most of the pain is at the bottom of my bump. When I have period pain, a boiling hot hot water bottle is the best thing ever. But that doesn't seem like a good idea now, and just warm would irritate me.

Back massages, and DH rubbing my belly firmly through ctrx does help though. Top labour tip, ladies!

We have a huge home server with loads of tv and films on, so I won't be too bored.

Sarah, please keep us updated if you can Flowers

Sultanajo · 07/09/2013 21:56

omg sarah. Thats just horrendous! Keeping everything firmly crossed! Sad

toby bless ya. Glad you are finding something that helps at least. Really hope it eases off soon. Biscuit

sarahleanne · 07/09/2013 22:38

Thankyou everyone. I feel so bloody useless.shes so tiny and has so many tubes coming out of her .She has a collapsed lung , torn liver and broken spleen and internal bleeding but they have managed to stop the bleeding earlier today .Literally have been in tears all day and hoping she makes it through the next few days ok. My sister in law is also 4 months pregnant so I can't imagine the stress and worry she is going through.
Really puts life into perspective when awful things happen. But DH and I are trying to stay positive and be strong for his sister. No doubt it will be in the papers soon too !
Sorry to put a downer on everyone . I feel so lucky to have 2 kids tucked up in their beds tonight safe and sound.

Whoever made the comment about not knowing why they suggest paracetamol for contractions, amen to that!!!! It does bugger all. It's like offering a boiled sweet to suck on to take their mind off it for someone who's just had their leg chopped off :-/ ok slight exaggeration but anyway it is total bollocks IMO .

TobyLerone · 07/09/2013 23:00

Oh, the poor little thing :( That's so sad. I would be heartbroken if that happened to my toddler nephew.

BuntCadger · 07/09/2013 23:06

Sarah :( hoping that your niece is ok, very terrifying. I fell out of my bedroom window onto concrete at similar age (tho not 5 story's) and fractured my skull. They said because I was so young (just under 2) I'd not tensed up which was why I survived. Praying the same for your niece. Xxx

Sarah how awful. Thinking of your family and especially your niece x

sarahleanne · 08/09/2013 08:11

Thanks guys! And bunt, we have been told the same thing, basically they said if it was her 3 year old brother or an adult then it most probably would of been instant but she is very light and small even for her age and her bones are still soft. Going up to take her a little teddy this morning as she is being transferred to Bristol hospital at some point.

Sultanajo · 08/09/2013 08:51

sarah great they managed to stop the bleeding. Unbelievable how quickly something so traumatic! Your poor rellies. Really hope for more positive news.

TobyLerone · 08/09/2013 08:55

God, it just doesn't bear thinking about, does it?

Toothfairy78 · 08/09/2013 08:57

sarah sorry to hear this. Really hoping she makes a full recovery and that everyone will be OK.

Penny31 · 08/09/2013 09:50

I'm so sorry sarah what a shock for everyone. Thoughts are with your family. I'm sure she is a little fighter xx

Sultanajo · 08/09/2013 10:56

How are u doing this morning toby?

TobyLerone · 08/09/2013 11:20

I'm ok thanks. Still contracting but feel better for some sleep.

BookTart · 08/09/2013 11:38

Oh sarah, what a nightmare for you all. I hope things start to look up for the little one soon.

Hope the contractions stop soon toby, glad you got some sleep.

Mythreeknights · 08/09/2013 12:59

Hi all, just back from two weeks holiday and seen this alarming news from Sarah and Toby...crossing my fingers for your niece Sarah and Toby, that your contraptions end soon and you can resume normal life insofar as that's possible on bed rest! Thinking of you both, big love x

flowersfortea · 08/09/2013 13:28

Sarah and Toby so sorry to hear what you're both going through. Sending lots of love and both wishes your way.

Puts my weekend into a huge perspective - was going to come on and have a big moan about my unsuccessful maternity wear shopping trip yesterday (hate bra and jeans shopping at the best of times). Have now ordered a range of jeans in various sizes from Next online and will book in for a bra fitting for the first time in my life.

Sultanajo · 08/09/2013 15:00

Glad u got some sleep toby. Really hope the contractions stop soon. Brew

mythree welcome back! Hope u had a good holiday!

flowers sounds like the only way forward - welcome to the annoying world of clothes shopping online.....Confused

Not really felt bubs kicking today - tried chocolate and cold drinks. Got the doppler out and did manage to find the heartbeat thankfully - although now he is growing and moving around its becoming quite a challenge to find it! It was well over to the right today which was different. Still not felt any kicks so sitting here trying not to stress. Little monkey! Had tons of kicks yesterday so perhaps he is just napping today.....Confused

Mac2014 · 08/09/2013 15:15

sarah thinking about you and your family - sounds awful. Massive hugs.

toby you poor thing, hope it sorts itself out.

Ladies hope all are ok.
