toby really?! Wow. I spose, but still - it seems harsh. Our place has an AMAZING sickness policy - 6 months full pay, 6 months half pay if needed.
It makes me almost wish I were going off sick instead of mat leave Grin

EAPM · 19/08/2013 21:49

Hi,

I'm new to the forum so wanted to say Hello!

I'm due on the 12th Jan and I have my 20week scan on the 29th August, can't wait to find out if its a boy or girl!

Hope everyone's pregnancy is going well looking forward to talking to you all.

Em xx

Sultanajo · 19/08/2013 21:51

Thats really interesting. We dont get any sickness allowance - it would just be SSP.

I'm with you penny. No good reason to think they would prefer someone else and be gutted when I am back, but cant help thinking that way - think its partly that I am really comfortable with how I run things now and so much will have potentially changed when I go back, I will feel a bit of a crash in confidence as I try to pick things back up. Am sure all will work out in the end....it will be totally worth it to have a healthy happy little boy running around! Grin

Sultanajo · 19/08/2013 21:52

Welcome eapm! Grin

Monty99 · 19/08/2013 21:53

Hello Smile

Thought I would say hello, am 17 weeks and thought it might be nice to join in! But, have a couple of questions, what is DH, dp, dd, dd2? I get what they are in the context of the sentence but can't figure out what they actually stand for!

Thanks!

Naturegirl82 · 19/08/2013 22:18

Wow humpty six months full pay! I get two weeks full pay! Sad

Welcome to everyone new Smile

FidgetPie · 19/08/2013 22:58

Hi all

We had our 20 week scan today. It was fantastic to see the little one. We had wanted to find out the gender, but baby had other ideas - so it will be a surprise instead!

Monty - welcome - the 'D' stands for dear / darling so 'darling husband' is DH. There is a link to acronyms guide at the top of the page.

Naturegirl82 · 19/08/2013 23:14

Just woke up and started vomming! Really don't know what's up with me today Sad

Spacefrog35 · 20/08/2013 07:06

Ohh poor Nature, hope you feel better today. Flowers

MrsVDB · 20/08/2013 07:06

Was a bridesmaid on Sunday and just about managed to fit into it! Was a lovely but very long couple of days. Couldn't stop being sick for last hour of evening do but made it worse that lots of drunk people with beer breath kept trying to ask if I was ok/ offer me water etc.

Also my bump looked huge which was nice as people kept touching it but it was huge and hard so I didn't really mind. Not even 18 weeks yet but pretty big.

I did notice when I was rubbing my tummy there is a small bump/ nodule on both sides about 1/2 way between belly button (also shallower!) and boobs a few inches from centre line each side. Worried me a bit but all my drunk friends said it was the foot/ hand etc which obviously it can't be

TobyLerone · 20/08/2013 08:12

At 18 weeks it can't be anything baby-related that high up, MrsV. Don't panic :) Maybe mention it to your MW next time you see her.

Welcome, newbies :)

Are you feeling any better today, nature? Flowers

Naturegirl82 · 20/08/2013 08:21

Still feeling rough, very queasy and a headache so it's a day trying to do as much as I can from the comfort of the sofa today.

TobyLerone · 20/08/2013 08:42

Must be a bug, then, Nature. Hope you feel better soon.

Naturegirl82 · 20/08/2013 08:59

Thanks toby more vomming this morning so good decision not to go in. Curled up on the sofa with a sleeping pup. Just going to take it easy today.

TobyLerone · 20/08/2013 09:15

You poor thing :(

enjoyingscience · 20/08/2013 10:17

:( nature

Hope the rest does you some good.

I'm so looking forward to the 20 week scan now. Seems like an age away!

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 20/08/2013 11:10

nature feel better, poor you.

Hello to monty and EAPM

20 week scan this afternoon for me - probably I am just a worrywart, but I am as scared as I was before the 12 week scan. That whole 'we don't listen for heartbeat at 16 weeks' thing has freaked me out.
Actually, I'm not as bad as I was on 12 week scan day. I didn't vomit breakfast straight back up Grin [looking on the bright side]

TobyLerone · 20/08/2013 11:17

Good luck, Humpty :o

Mythreeknights · 20/08/2013 12:30

Good luck Smile are you finding out the sex?

Frizz1986 · 20/08/2013 12:40

Am very jealous!! Got mine on Friday first thing and I am wishing the days away!!

Sorry for poorlyness nature

MrsVDB · 20/08/2013 12:46

Good luck humpty still 2 weeks to wait until mine

MrsGSR · 20/08/2013 12:47

Good luck humpty!

We've got our private gender scan this evening, I'm also pretty scared! I'm glad DH is able to come to this scan though.

I hope you start feeling better soon nature :(

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 20/08/2013 12:48

Ta all - am just about to set off (oh the joy of London travel, where it takes 45 mins to go 2.6 miles).

Mythree we're in the surprise flavour camp. Just as long as there's a heartbeat, and no huge problems, I'll be happy. Fingers and toeses crossed.

Penny31 · 20/08/2013 13:40

Good luck humpty!

TobyLerone · 20/08/2013 15:30

Good luck tonight, MrsG!
