I gained 9lbs with my last pregnancy and got stretchmarks from head to toe! No rhyme nor reason to it.

PramQueen1971 · 14/08/2013 09:49

Hottie, that Emma sounds like an utter twat. What patronising nonsense. I'll bet you any money Emma's husband is shagging her best mate.

Edamame · 14/08/2013 09:51

My pregnancy symptoms went away for a week but now I'm feeling sick again. I had no idea that they could come and go like that until seeking the wisdom of MN. So I am feeling better in one respect. And extremely lucky to be working from home at the moment.

Now I'm worried because:

  • relationship is suffering due to hideous and never-ending grumpy mood
  • I am or will be depressed since ditching the medication (I tapered and it was planned but still feel totally crap)
  • I will turn into my mother

I really didn't want to tell RL friends about being pg yet but might have to because I think I need some support.

LyraSilvertongue · 14/08/2013 09:56

Thanks Rosy and Pram. I decided not to go, given that I had some nausea yesterday and also would have had to drag my reluctant boys along to sit in the waiting room for god knows how long till I would be seen.

Instead we're meeting up with a friend and her children soon for a play and picnic lunch in the park.

Only one more week till my 12-week scan. I'm trying to be patient Smile

SoSurprised · 14/08/2013 10:02

Mortified I hadn't even thought of the stretch marks yet! Just barely getting better with the nausea.

x0gawjus0x · 14/08/2013 10:06

I made a facebook acc for the group how do i go about joining it

IceNoSlice · 14/08/2013 10:10

I thought I'd escaped stretch marks with DS. I was diligently applying the bio oil, feeling pretty smug, then at week 38... BAM! All over my tummy. Grim. Mostly faded now though.

I'm not convinced the creams/oils work really. No more than a decent body lotion would, anyway. But I'll probably use them again just in case they do help! Cusson's mum and bump range are quite nice.

rescoonetwothree · 14/08/2013 10:11

mtb is it bad that i plan on being perfectly tanned etc at all times when labor is imminent (I'm sure it will remain just a plan)

gawjus I'm using bio oil but apparently its genetic anyway in which case i am fucked either way! also to join the fb just pm me the link to your page and i'll get you added!

edamame hope you start to feel better soon, i think those are natural worries especially with all the hormones flying around!!

Writerwannabe83 · 14/08/2013 10:12

Writerwannabe83 · 14/08/2013 10:22

I don't know who you trying to PM but whomever it is, you don't click on their name you click on the 'message poster' option which is to the right of their name (on the same blue strip) Smile

x0gawjus0x · 14/08/2013 10:30

I dont have that either maybe cos im on my phone

rescoonetwothree · 14/08/2013 10:32

x0gawjus0x · 14/08/2013 11:30

Im on there just waiting on email to verify my account so i cant post yet!

im so scared about telling my parents dad especially i really think he will hit the roof aggghhh why oh why cant i have supportive parents!

rescoonetwothree · 14/08/2013 11:47

gawjus they might surprise you, I thought my mum was going to go ballistic but she came around, you're still their daughter they're going to love you no matter what! Why do you think they won't be supportive?

x0gawjus0x · 14/08/2013 12:00

My mum has bipolar and manic depression so she could absolutely flip shit or he over the moon ad my nan/dad are so traditional marriage career first (they dont like my oh either) my dad found out i had a boyfriend at 17 and he tried keeping me indoors every second of every day he is so so over protective i was brought up by my dad

rescoonetwothree · 14/08/2013 12:19

gawjus that could be tough but ultimately I'm sure it'll work out it, might just be a case of everyone getting used to it, it'll probably be a lot of shock! with your dad you're always going to be his baby, i know a lot of people whose dads have gone a bit cray when they've found out but gone on to be brilliant grandfathers !

MummyPig24 · 14/08/2013 12:21

Messy play was good. They had jelly, kids loved that and obviously ate some. There was cold spaghetti, goo, veg in paint, sand and water. They didn't get too filthy, just rather sandy and sticky. Then I had to go and buy a frijj milkshake. This is why I'm fat.

I gained weight after having ds, having barely gained anything in pregnancy. I gained a stone when I was expecting dd and lost it after, but I'm still 3 stone heavier than when I had ds. Not good. But I just can't motivate myself to lose weight, I feel happy as I am, although I know I'm not at a healthy weight.

PramQueen1971 · 14/08/2013 12:23

Nice one, Lyra, stay cool, yeah?

commsgirl · 14/08/2013 12:23

It sounds like a tough situation gawjus but like grey said, they might surprise you! Even if you don't get the reaction you'd hope for, they've got plenty of time for the news to settle in and I'm sure by the time your baby is here they'll be excited to meet him/her.

x0gawjus0x · 14/08/2013 12:28

Lets hope so !! Like you both said after the initial shock im sure things will settle down. All of oh family know they are so excited none of mine do! Waiting till scan to avoid any uneseccary corruption haha :)

faithfulandtruthful · 14/08/2013 12:28

Hot I snorted when I read about the sexy bra, Emma clearly lives on an alternative planet, perhaps Emma would like to explain where she has been finding all this sexy underwear. Its not subliminal advertising for a certain smelly high street company is it? The bath bomb was what?
