F&T it's such a tough time. If you have symptoms, you feel crap. If you don't have symptoms, you feel crap. It's a lose-lose Wink

We only agree on boys names too!! Girls names are a minefield!! I love some slightly different ones, Elodie for example, but MrM only likes straightforward ones, such as Ruby. Which I also love, but it's so high up in the popular names that I have gone off it a bit. He is very anti any name that isn't English. So annoying. I love Amalie and Anaïs, but they're 'too French' apparently. Would it be wrong to torture him into submission?!

I also managed to bring my scan forward by 4 days! Hurrah! Friday 13th!

9+2

MortifiedAdams · 20/08/2013 10:20

Saw the nurse this morning and she was so nice to me. Has got me a scan for 11am tomorrow. Said there is nothing I can do to help, so try not to worry too.much.

Im supposed to be at work at 3 tomorrow and obviously need to ring and update my boss. I.dont want to be in a situation where I have to ring tomorrow after the scan to tell her the outcome - wpuld it be unreasonable to say I cant work the shift at all? Obviously if the scan is good, great, but if it confirms the worst, I really dont want to have tp ring her after it.

MTBMummy · 20/08/2013 10:25

Thank you to those who made me feel like less of a pathetic mess this morning. I'm overly emotional as my symptoms have let up today so I'm panicking and I also had some really bad cramps last night.

My logical side keeps telling me that I fell better as I had almost 9 hours sleep and only had to get up once to pee, but the emotional side has me worrying that something has gone wrong -I know it sounds stupid, but I look and feel less pregnant today :-(

Mort I'd call off the whole shift if I was you - either way tomorrow is going ot be an emotional day for you.

So glad you had a nice nurse and you've managed to get an appointment tomorrow so that you don't have too long to wait

Maybe Elodie is our front runner at the moment, I won DP over :). Love Anais.

commsgirl · 20/08/2013 10:52

Mort I'd explain the situation and not do your shift. Either way, it's going to be an emotional day and the last thing you need to be worrying about is sorting work out.

MTB being emotional is a symptom! Try not to worry (easier said than done I know). It's okay to have a bad day.

MortifiedAdams · 20/08/2013 11:44

Boss was totally understanding.

Pains worsening. Have took paraceramol and have a hot water bottle. Feel all shivvery and cold. Dh took dd to the pool earlier and osnt back yet but when they do return it.will be her nap.time

rescoonetwothree · 20/08/2013 11:50

happy birthday cool and good luck to everyone heading to the epu and with scans today!

Beccadugs · 20/08/2013 11:57

Morning all, thanks again for all your messages yesterday.

Spoke to the EPU this morning, spectacularly unhelpful once again, basically their line is if the worst is going to happen, a scan now won't help. I have my 12 week scan next tuesday, so might as well wait til then. Then once again lots of info on what to do if bleeding gets heavier.

Ho hum - will just have to hang on til next tuesday and try to get on with it. It's just so hard as I don't want to be too excited, and another week seems such a trial.

Jolleigh · 20/08/2013 11:57

Mort - don't go to your shift. Whichever outcome, you won't be able to concentrate. Sending lots of good luck hugs your way.

Beccadugs · 20/08/2013 11:58

P.S. Thinking of you Mort, and definitely have the whole day sick tomorrow.

faithfulandtruthful · 20/08/2013 11:58

Mort I cannot imagine what it must be like for you right now. Just wanted to let you know I'm thinking of you. Hope things look up. Take good care of yourself.

F&T

NoMaybeAboutIt · 20/08/2013 12:05

Am thinking of you too Mort. Glad your boss was understanding. Hope tomorrow comes quickly for you x

Becca what a nightmare. Could you maybe have a word win a GP and see if they could get you in?

Comms MrM thinks Anaïs is too like anus. Yep. That's what I married

PramQueen1971 · 20/08/2013 12:09

Blimey, Mort & Becca, not frightfully good news, then. The waiting is torturous and I'm sorry you're suffering like this.

Happy Birthday, Coolhand Thanks

I think I like Elodie a little but it's all over mumsnet now which puts me off. Isla is becoming ridiculously common...where did that name come from all of a sudden? Ruby is just beautiful, but, again; it's everywhere.

I had my scan and was told off for having an entirely empty bladder. She took ages to locate baby but there he was, looking very blurry and un-photograph-able. All I cared about was seeing the heartbeat, which was strong Smile

I salute all you ladies who get up at daft o'clock and go to work. I don't normally rise before 10.30am but I was up with the alarm at 7.30 this morning and, oh boy! the morning sickness was just horrid. How you all drag yourselves out of the shower and onto trains is a mystery to me. You are all heroes.

rosyryan · 20/08/2013 12:09

I'm glad your boss is being supportive Mort.

I'm never sure how to pronounce Anais Maybe. I say Ann-aye-ees but I've met one Ann- A (like the letter A)-iss and one Annay Hmm

rosyryan · 20/08/2013 12:11

That's fab news Prammy. Ps, I was on the train at 0736 this morning Grin

Jolleigh · 20/08/2013 12:23

PramQueen - it's not every day we make it there! Today is officially my first day off with pregnancy related sickness and I feel proper pathetic. After only managing to sleep at about 4am, was up at 6, managed to shower, then slipped on the way downstairs due to sheer exhaustion and the sudden motion caused me to hurl up the wall.

I was back in bed before 7. Luckily my boss laughed and showed sympathy when I told him this.

(No real injuries!)

NoMaybeAboutIt · 20/08/2013 12:28

So chuffed Prambo! The early wake up def makes things worse. I'm working from home today, so didnt need to get up till 8. Was sheer bliss!!

Jol that does not sound good. Lack of sleep is a killer. Up 3 times for a wee last night. I don't know where it comes from!!

Rosy I too say anay-is. But I won't be allowed it Sad

Prammy I too loved Isla until it became crazy popular. I bought a name book. 8000 names I've been through and compiled a list. Most got snorted at. So I farted at him.

MortifiedAdams · 20/08/2013 12:35

Hi everyone. My time.on this thread has come to an end.

DH was a star, EPAU still want to see me and the baby (which DH managed to recover), tomorrow morning. DD is going to Nannas overnight once she wakes from her nap, amd I will mainly be spending the rest of the day in bed.

My parents (who we are incredibly close to), are away til Thurs, so it wont be nice to have to break it to them when they get back - I really hope they havent got a gift for the baby (sort of thing theyd do!)

Good luck Becca, and I look forward to reading lots of lovely live birth threads in March.

Brew & Thanks to all.

Jolleigh · 20/08/2013 12:35

NoMaybe - wasn't great but I'm now cozy in bed doing a box set binge Wink

rescoonetwothree · 20/08/2013 12:39

Jolleigh · 20/08/2013 12:41

NoMaybeAboutIt · 20/08/2013 12:46

Oh Mort I'm so, so sorry. My thoughts are with you x

commsgirl · 20/08/2013 12:47

Mort I am so sorry. Look after yourself Flowers Brew

MTBMummy · 20/08/2013 12:48

LOL Pram you do make me chuckle. I catch the 6:30 train every morning, I have to be up at 5:20 at the latest to get there in time - yawn...
