Best S+V crisps by miles are Squares

PiratesMam · 14/08/2013 21:58

[goes back to sleep]

Beccadugs · 14/08/2013 22:06

We too have been looking at a new "family" vehicle...
We currently have a C3, but the dog currently travels on the back seat, and there is no room for her and pram in the boot. She can get filthy on walks so I don't really want her continuing on the back seat with a baby.

We are think C4 grand Picasso or Volvo v50, just need to work out if we can afford to finance a bit or not!

Coolhand · 14/08/2013 22:42

Thanks Pram but I'm just head of 6th form, not the entire school so not such a big deal but I'll greedily take your ego boost anyway and run with it

We have a humble Focus and an ancient Golf.

We could probably do with something bigger, more so to accommodate my humongous husband, who is 6ft 10, there's not much room for car seats in the back when he puts the seat fully back. Tried to put our current car seat behind him in a Focus in Spain and it didn't fit. DS currently travels on opposite side. Baby seat will probably be fine and we'll worry about the rest after that when we will def have no money left for new car

Marmitemoomoo · 14/08/2013 23:42

Hello again, just taken me ages to catch up since first post only a few days ago! Will not leave it as long next time. Have gone from craving noodles to crisps and feeling sick all in the space of half an hour. Currently sitting up in bed listening to snoring DH trying to keep the light away from his face as not to wake him up from fear of being moaned at!

We have a mini as a family car, seemed a good idea at the time, mid life crisis of wanting to be a bit trendy, huge 15 year , ever growing lanky 13 year old and two dogs that travel in boxes, one in the boot, one on the middle seat is going to make interesting days out when the bump arrives.
But not going to worry about that for a while.
Too busy trying to get through the day without falling asleep or feeling sick. Still haven't told the children and the eldest keeps giving me odd looks when he sees me lying on the bed, with tummy ache from the 'bread' I have eaten. Why do you eat it then mum if it makes, you feel ill? He asks, he must think I've gone mad. If only he knew what was really going on poor thing :-(

Marmitemoomoo · 14/08/2013 23:43

Silly question... How do you get the smiley faces etc to appear?

MortifiedAdams · 15/08/2013 00:02

do [ followed by grin or smile then ] no spaces.

[ grin ] no spaces is Grin

MortifiedAdams · 15/08/2013 00:03

My random Q - why does one boob feel like it has pins and needles? And it goes under my armpit too.

When I had dd I felt it after the birth for a few weeks and was told it was Let Down - even though I didnt BF. Surely I cant be producing milk yet?!

MortifiedAdams · 15/08/2013 00:18

oooh just thought - I wonder how many of us will discover multiples at our scans!

x0gawjus0x · 15/08/2013 06:29

Is morning sickness more mental and causing it yourself? I am normally sick every morning yellow stuff yumyum then when i get to work i dont feel sick the entire day unless i smell poo or something then as soon as i finish i feel sick in the car and for the rest of the eve and it just repeats daily :/ maybe i just dont pay attention to it when im constantly busy?

x0gawjus0x · 15/08/2013 07:06

frank im due 2nd march got my scan tues :D so nervous I think ill be too scared to go lol.

Hiya magpie my symptoms all went over night was really worried then 4 days later I was being sick again and waking through the night desperate for a weee!

As for cars not too worried we have a mazda 3 and a focus n this is our first so will have enpugh room luckily. Dont think ill have any more with the worry im already going through with this one!! Xx

SoSurprised · 15/08/2013 07:25

Good luck ice with the scan

We are also thinking of about a different car as ours is so old and creaky I think it can drop dead at any second.

SoSurprised · 15/08/2013 07:28

Just read the last page good luck to you too Baldrick and Coolhand.

Rockchick1984 · 15/08/2013 07:37

Cool what about something like a Picasso with 3 proper seats in the back, then you don't need a car seat behind DH?

We have got rid of the car since moving house - DH doesn't drive and I try to walk most places. I'm 10 mins from train station, 30 seconds from bus stop, and prefer having the extra cash rather than the convenience of a car!

Good luck to the scan ladies today!! A week to go til mine, my dad is bringing DS along so they will both come in (as soon as we know everything is ok) then my mum is meeting us for tea after (parents are divorced but still get on ok).

Has anyone thought yet about booking a gender scan at 16/17 weeks?

FrankelInFoal · 15/08/2013 08:00

Good luck for today's scans ladies.

My colleague has just bought a Picasso to ferry her grandchildren around in. It's very nice. We've got a Focus and a Rio, no intention of changing either car in the near future.

MummyPig24 · 15/08/2013 08:02

Good luck to those having scans today!

Had a good day yesterday, but on the way to pick up our wedding album (which is bloody gorgeous) I read an email from my friend who has breast cancer. The cancer has spread to her lymphnodes under her arm, so she needs 12 rounds of chemo after her mastectomy. It's so, so cruel. She has 2 small children. I just can't bear the thought that they could be left without their mother. Feeling really sad today, I just hope I can support her and be there for her. I haven't told her about the baby yet. I'm not sure when would be a good time. I feel like I ought to tell her personally, rather than the generic email I was going to send round that friendship group.

littleABI · 15/08/2013 08:11

Oooh exciting day ahead, thinking of you ladies with your scans today!! So nervous about mine, still got 3 weeks.

As for car, we have a lovely spacious Jazz but doesn't stop DH looking. I think for us, its a question of downsizing what we take with us (eg camping) and getting a trailer. Car will do us till (hopefully) the family expands even more... !

HotCrossPun · 15/08/2013 08:11

I'm so excited for all those of you going for scans today!!!

littleABI · 15/08/2013 08:12

Awww mummy that is so sad. Thinking of you. X

NoMaybeAboutIt · 15/08/2013 08:40

I'm sorry to hear that Mummy

Good luck for all the scans!!

Rock we are going to have a gender scan at 17 weeks!

FrankelInFoal · 15/08/2013 08:44

So sorry to hear your friend's news Mummy.

JustCallMeBaldrick · 15/08/2013 08:46

Thanks for all the scan good wishes! I'm completely crapping myself that something's wrong - haven't felt this way this strongly before any other scans, so I'm really hoping it's just paranoia!
Wishing the day away until 2pm...

MTBMummy · 15/08/2013 09:01

Good Luck Ice, Coolhand and Baldrick - I'm so jealous you've reached your scan dates already Grin

Maybe I commute in from West Berks/South Ox boarders I tend to use the bus if at all possible as it's just that little bit less crowded.

On the car front, we bought an SMax at the end of last year - it's an amazing car and we have so far managed to fit 3 children all in child seats and 4 adults in it comfortably - so I can highly recommend one if you need a spacious car.

MTBMummy · 15/08/2013 09:02

Rock we're not thinking about a gender scan, but we are hoping we get lucky as we did with DD who had her legs wide open at our dating scan, so it was fairly obvious it was a girl, although we may change our mind if this one isn't as clear

rosyryan · 15/08/2013 09:21

It'll be a surprise for us, so no extra scan at 16 weeks.

No car here. We live in zone 3 so no real need.

Good luck to all those with scans today. It's such a nerve wracking time. Surely at least one of us has to be having twins though!
