Natalie it doesn't sound like she is a very close friend, you could still have the same name.

roofio87 · 22/07/2013 21:49

my bump has definitely changed shape and dropped lower today. I'm pretty sure he's moved round from being breech so that's probably why, but it seems so odd. sound normal to you ladies?!

Tarlia · 22/07/2013 22:01

It's a boy! Someone said on FB it was called Prince Albert, I googled to see if it were true. Errrr, I really hope they don't call him that...Go ask Wiki Shock who knew!? Fingers crossed out boys names are safe.

Regarding having a second of the same sex, I will be honest, I'd have liked a girl before I found out and thought I'd be disappointed, but I was please as I will have another scrummy DS who will hopefully be close friends. My mum upset me by saying she was disappointed - I knew she would be as she was when I had DS too :(. For ever spitting her dummy out. My labour was so quick I didn't have chance to tell her (3hours intensts start to finish) I called her once born, she still tells me after she got off the phone she cried, not because she was happy but because she was sad she had not been allowed to be excitedly waiting (she knew I was on try 3 of induction!!).

Legally good to hear. Yep, I have a bp monitor home with me as have to chart. Can tell when I've done more than rest all day from my BP. Left side for blood flow as when bp is very high for a long period of time, we are talking days not just a few resdings, the blood flow is reduced to babies which is the reason why PIH and PE babies can be smaller. Sounds like yours are a fantastic size! My little one at 28 weeks was under 3lb according to a growth scan.

orange glad you are laughing. Rediculous! I know HS would find that hilarious. Reduced physical activity in such heat should be on your risk assessment anyway. Not as if it was something you really HAD to move to do properly. I'd ask for a note to be put in your file with a print out of the days weather report if that will be put in!

sisteroutlaw · 22/07/2013 22:03

Hi everyone! just checking in umpteen threads down the line Grin.
Not sure if I've added successfully to the EDD and name spreadsheet. I fancy joining in. Roxvox are you admin...? Don't want to hassle if it's a reluctant mantle.

Oh and BridgetandtheHairyBrigands I feel your anguish. You may think it's a bit silly but I read these positive affirmations about the driving test to change my mindset and it helped. Had an ace examiner who said the best thing, "I want you to drive they way you would tomorrow if you had your license" or something like that. I still messed up bits but that's OK. Minors are fine. Passed last week having put it off for 19 years...

Not managed to read the entire thread but wishing everyone all the best in the heat and finding something comfy to wear and a cool spot to hang out in. Simply cannot believe that there are only three months to go Shock!!!

Tarlia · 22/07/2013 22:04

Cross posted with just about everyone! Ha!

Nat you def should go with it, she is only a friend of a friend. If we thought like that there would be no names left!

Roo I think my bump has dropped too, I was only saying it today to DP.

PseudoBadger · 22/07/2013 22:07

I have a bp monitor too and take it about twice a week. I then show my consultant. I was put on aspirin at 18 weeks and my readings have gone from 119/81 at that time, down to the lowest of 99/54 just over a month later, and are now on the way back up (110/66 yesterday). I find it fascinating!

TheFalconsmistress · 22/07/2013 22:08

roofio my bump is very low now as is she i get bumps and kicks low down.

Crown Well i never expected it to be a boy it think they might call him george..

natalie Its your name you want it what does it matter if every boy in the school was called theo? If its your boys name in your heart go for it Flowers

Haylebop12 · 22/07/2013 22:11

legally I'm only working until 34 weeks and that's one baby so I totally think you should finish earlier, if that's what you want. If it didn't affect my time once baby is here I'd be going at 29 weeks! (And that would make this week my last!)

nat it wouldn't bother me naming my child that of a distant friend. I kinda did with dd. we hasn't spoken for around 2 years when u had her although we're fb friends now. I'd avoid those of close friends mind. My cousin is actually called zak and were still having Isaac :-)

roofio I too think my bump has dropped and kicks are higher although he's still pushing out here there n everywhere so god knows what position he's in!

Ellie15 · 22/07/2013 22:19

Wow the thread has moved fast today, I've just caught up fr this morning. Glad to hear your being monitored closely legally and hope everyone is coping in this heat.
Natalie sounds like you have been very thorough with your flea attack. Fleas are a reality of having pets and it is much more common in this heat, you may find the spot on isn't very effective this time as it uses the skins natural oils to spread over the rest of the coat and as you gave her a bath before hand it won't be able to work as well. I recommend the vet only products like advocate and frontline, after working with animals for almost 14 years they are the most effective spot ons. The supermarket and pet shop ones generally aren't as good (if you do choose to use these make extra sure they are for cats, the dog ones are toxic to cats. Yes people do this, it can be fatal). Sorry for long post

Natalieand · 22/07/2013 22:28

Thanks ellie I only washed her cos the pets at home woman said that If I did it with warm water then it would kill the fleas currently on her? Do u think I should get another one for the back of the neck then? Or will it overdose her? i really do not want the hassle of treating my entire house again lol

I worry that ppl in the toddler group will think I only chose theo cos the other girl did or cos they will have heard that name before it wil be like 'oh right another theo' maybe ill get it out there now that I like theo so it looks like she's copied me lol

Ellie15 · 22/07/2013 22:41

natalie what product was the spot on? it depends on the product as whats best to do now. I doubt you'll have to clean the whole house again, it doesnt sound like a big infestation. What were the tablets too?

Natalieand · 22/07/2013 22:43

Johnsons 4 fleas cat tablets and I think the drops were bob Martin but I don't have the box now to check x

PseudoBadger · 22/07/2013 22:48

I'm just running cold water into the bath for my feet before bed...

favellio · 22/07/2013 22:51

Argh!!! It's a boy!! Please don't call him George!! Or if they do, then let me have a girl coz both me and DH love the name George!

roxvox · 22/07/2013 22:59

natalieand DH works for a veterinary medicine company... Bathing is fine as an immediate measure, but your cat will just collect them again straight away. Frontline is the best and you'll need to apply it once a month for 3 months. Nothing will get rid of the problem immediately as most of a fleas life takes place off your cat which is why you'll continue to see fleas for a while. Also, with the change forecast in the weather it's very likely the problem will appear worse before it gets better but stick with it and you're cat will be happy again in no time. No need to re-dose just yet after the collar incident, but after application don't bath your cat with shampoo as it strips the product from the cat.

sisteroutlaw I am not official admin, but I have just moved you up the list so it's in EDD order. Welcome to the list Smile

PsuedoBadger might copy you - I had a cold foot bath a few days back and was Shock how the water around my feet heated so quickly. Had to keep swishing to get the coolth back!

Is there a thread on here about the best fans? I'm now keen on those monstrous ceiling fans... might do a quick search with my feet submerged... x

Ellie15 · 22/07/2013 23:09

natalie I agree you don't need to redo the spot on at the moment. The tablets you are giving will help to break the flea life cycle. I'd avoid Bob Martins as from experience it's not very effective. I recommend Advocate or Frontline which you can get from your vet, definitely worth the slight price increase and continue using it once a month in the summer.

sisteroutlaw · 22/07/2013 23:14

Cheers roxvox!

GTbaby · 22/07/2013 23:19

I hope they don't take your name. But think king Hugo has a nice ring to it. Not a "modern" name but not major traditional either. Prince Hugo king Hugo???!?? Well like it. Lol

Natalieand · 23/07/2013 04:14

Thanks roxvox and ellie I just washed her in warm water no soaps chemicals etc then let her thoroughly dry before apply the spot on, ill let it a fortnight or so then and then do front line drops on a continual basis xxx

Slippysnow · 23/07/2013 06:44

Good morning all, I hope they call the baby Tyler to get one over on the bitch Katy Hopkins. Would be good for a more obscure name like Danger or River.

I got my antenatal classes through from st Thomas' and was really confused as the letter just stated outpatient appointments have been made for you, and on two days in September I was told to come in one from 10-1, the other 10-4!! It was only after I called to check that I was told they deff were the classes, is it me or does that seem ridiculously long , especially for a group of heavily pregnant women.

Tarlia · 23/07/2013 06:50

My bump is clicking again! Had the same thing with DS too and MW's and Dr's thought I was mad when I asked, so no explanation. Haha. Anyone else? It might be joint hyper mobility related as DS also has it and showed signs from the start, but no idea!

How are you all on this beautiful morning?Flowers Crown

OrangeBlossom2 · 23/07/2013 07:07

Hot and sticky here Tarlia. Is the weather meant to break today? I didn't sleep much at all.

And I didn't get my cooled moisturiser bump rub, we had an argument instead because MIL called and was asking DH what our short list of names was (he was trying to be vague). He did admirably saying he had forgotten them, but was the upset that he can't share things with his mum/shut her out. I don't want to tell anyone in RL names we are thinking of and think that is perfectly reasonable. Especially MIL as her track record means she would probably ruin them for us or pick one she liked and force us to have it by buying lots of things with that name on or something. I told him the "I don't like any of those, how about heather?" Story from here.

PseudoBadger · 23/07/2013 07:11

We had a storm overnight, quite impressive but not too major. Poor smallest dog went catatonic with fear though :(

I have sore, hot, mildly itchy hands and feet today. Do I need to worry?

PseudoBadger · 23/07/2013 07:11

Sorry you didn't get your massage Orange :(
