Oooooh Vinegar you are making me tired. I've managed some tidying and have baked some bread. Now I'm having a sit down- bean has hiccups again :-)

Off to school in a mo for photos.

Thinking sorry DS1 is poorly- bet he is loving quality time with mum.

cheek your watermelon comment made me laugh.

Cheeseandbread · 18/06/2013 11:49

Totally hope your last week goes ok!

cheekbyjowl · 18/06/2013 12:08

vinegar my mil had 6. one was on time other 5 were all late. lady at work had three late arrivals too so maybe there is a pattern Hmm

esme80 · 18/06/2013 12:17

Hi everyone!

Congrats beginning and devils!

Dinky your day sounds lovely, am quite jealous! I have definately joined the space hopper category now...

After having nothing organised for ages, it seems everything is done! Hospital bag packed just in case, birth pool arrived and tens machine. All ready for a home birth! Now just need my watermelon (I have same app as cheek) to rsvp to the event!

Thinkingof4 · 18/06/2013 12:35

vinegar mine have been term plus 13 (induced), term plus 3 (waters went but no labour so induced again ) and term plus 3 (spontaneous- yaay!)
So although I'm 38 weeks today too I'm not really expecting anything to happen for another 2 or 3 weeks! You might have your baby this week though- how exciting!!

Ds1 is having a lovely time, it's actually really nice to get some one to one time with him before the baby arrives. I've been sorting out baby journals and he's loving reading about himself as a baby and looking at old photos! He's such a lovely boy Smile

MightBeMad · 18/06/2013 13:58

Congratulations devil and beginning!!!

Wow to those of you baking/shopping/lawn mowing/hoovering etc etc! My pop has kicked in a bit this week so I'm not feeling very enteric around the house! Luckily DH is being a star otherwise chances are the neither I nor dc1 would have had any clean clothes to put on this morning Blush Grin

bigbelly4 · 18/06/2013 14:39

Vinegar - mine were all 38 weekers, the boys were both 10 days early and daughter was 13 days early. More bizzarly is they all weighed exactly the same 6lb 14oz!

VinegarDrinker · 18/06/2013 14:48

Thanks for the gestation anecdotes! Jealous of your weights though bigbelly - DS was 8lb 9oz despite being 9 days early which is another reason I'd like this one out sooner rather than later!

(Also today/tonight would be perfect as it'd get me out of a swimming date with MIL tomorrow - see AIBU!)

TotallyEggFlipped · 18/06/2013 16:48

Vinegar - I would hate to have to go swimming with my MIL. Fortunately for me she lives in Ireland. I found being expected to go over for Sunday family dinner claustrophobic enough when we lived there too without the expectation of one-on-one time. I find my PIL very hard work & I'm dreading their visit after the baby's born. I don't blame you for not wanting to 'be mates'!

Abzs · 18/06/2013 17:12

I did quite well in the PIL stakes, but I'm still not best pleased that dh has told his mum they can stay with us after Small arrives. Depends when it puts in an appearance though as SIL1 is booked for the holiday she has before starting her gp3 placement, so if Small is late she wins.

dinkystinky · 18/06/2013 17:58

Might be - sorry pgp is giving you trouble but glad dh is rising the the challenge.

Vinegar - ds1 induced at 42 weeks,ds2 spontaneous labour at 38 weeks (cant remember number of days past the week). Ds1 just shy of 9 lbs, ds2 8 lbs 6 oz. Hope you got all your chores done OK - sounds like you're nesting with a vengeance!

Thinking - your ds1 sounds lovely. Hope he's feeling better now

photographerlady · 18/06/2013 19:41

Hi ladies, my you talk a lot! so had my scan this morning and feeling better about my overweightness as the LO is perfect size and head down. I still have terrible "kicked in the vagina" pains but MW said its normal. I cant believe how many pain killers she said I could take. I refrained so far from any but might need to start thinking about it at night as my pelvic and kicked vagina are killing me.

Congratulations to Beginning and Devil

36+1

Abzs · 18/06/2013 19:52

photographer same here re pains down below. Mw said to keep taking paracetamol if I need it. She did confirm that I am now being head butted down there, rather than kicked.

elliejjtiny · 18/06/2013 20:01

Vinegar - ds1 arrived at 41+4, ds2 at 40+6 and ds3 at 40+2. Ezekiel broke the trend by arriving at 35+3. He was evicted but as my waters had gone, I would have gone into labour fairly soon after anyway I think.

re inlaws sympathies for those of you struggling. Mine are mostly good although DH asked his step nan to take in some EBM to scbu for Ezekiel without telling me and she went and visited him while she was there. I wasn't happy as it doesn't feel right to have people going to see my baby while I'm not there. Got FIL helping out with heavy lifting for 3 days next week and hoping it goes ok. Could be awkward as I seem to have my boobs exposed rather a lot these days!

Despite me staying away from SCBU for 3 days, Ezekiel has caught my cold anyway Sad. He's doing ok at the moment, just needs a lot of suctioning. Also DH had to take DS2 to a and e last night after he was mucking about with DS3 at bedtime and cut his head. It was my first attempt at putting the boys to bed since my section (DH got DS3 in clean nappy and pjs first so I just had to supervise the older 2 and hear reading books/do stories) and I think they were playing up because they knew I couldn't physically put them back into bed.

Thinkingof4 · 18/06/2013 20:12

dinky that gives me hope that I might not go overdue then! Good sized babies! Ds1 is back to normal now, thanks

vinegar big first baby, I don't blame you for wanting this one to arrive asap. Forgot to add my babies weights, 8lb, 8lb 12, 8lb 11. Midwife reckons I'm due a nine pounder but I'm sure I'm smaller than last time....we'll see soon enough!

photographer yeeouch! I remember having that last time, but not this time so far

Thinkingof4 · 18/06/2013 20:17

Ellie sorry to hear Ezekiel has a cold, at least your ebm will be helping him fight the cold. I'm sure your boys are just enjoying having your attention hence the playing up

dinkystinky · 18/06/2013 20:21

ouch at the headbutts on the cervix/shooting vagina pains - sound super painful.

Ellie - hugs, these things happen. Hope DS2 is ok after his a&e visit. And am sure Ezekiel's cold will pass soon (your bm will help with the antibodies) and in the meantime the nurses will be suctioning away - its not a dead cert he got it from you as there are lots of colds doing the rounds with the changeable weather.

Thinking - DH is 6 foot 2 and was a 9lber at birth. I think his genes are VERY strong as both boys were tall babies as well (and had big feet - ds2's were so big we had to cut the ends off of babygrows for him! At 4 he's only 2 shoe sizes behind his big brother and only a head or so shorter). I suspect this one is another tall one so am resigned to being the shortarse of the family in years to come. Glad ds1 is feeling better.

OhGood · 18/06/2013 20:40

beginning and devil congratulations!!!! Two lovely little boys, and beginning little Theo clearly a fighter. Flowers

MarieKL · 18/06/2013 22:15

Congratulations to Beginning and Devil.

Ellie I hope bedtime is less eventful tonight and Ezekiel recovers from his cold quickly.

Lots of sympathy to all those struggling with in laws. I have my mum staying at the moment and she spent today asking random people in shops whether they thought I was having a boy or a girl and then asking me to tell her the names we thought of, I case she says the wrong thing, ie yuck, when we announce the name. Confused

photographer sorry to hear you're in pain. Have you seen the lovely baby grows on the cafe press website with photographer's assistant on?

Dinky great incentative for sorting out all your paperwork.

Shiv and Phie* lovely to see you back, plus the others I can't remember, sorry!

Sorry wanted to say more but brain entirely scrambled. Hope all those struggling to sleep have a better night tonight.

bigbelly4 · 18/06/2013 22:17

Dinky - my youngest is taller than middle one with huge feet, a size and a half bigger than middle one! dh is 6'2 and I'm 5'11 so how middle one is so titchy is anyone's guess!

evelynj · 18/06/2013 22:50

Hi all

I'm feeling the kicked about below pain lately too, most uncomfortable.

Hope Ezekiel makes a speedy recovery.

In-laws seem to be the pain of the day. My dh says he has to go back to his folks to confirm when they can come visit after baby, (we're Ireland, they're England). Is 3-4 weeks ok? As they'll be staying for a few days I don't want to be first couple of weeks etc & don't know how long they plan to stay. After section I'm just eager that everyone is aware to expect zero hosting from me for at least a month-something I seemingly need to repeatedly hammer home to dh. I don't want to delay them seeing their grandchild too long but also have fear of longer hospital stay or any health complications etc.

I've had crazy tiredness today also but kind of dread going o bed lately as it's such an effort to organise pillows and get comfy etc.

Sorry for all the whingeing, hope I catch some of that energy some of you others have soon :)

P.s. My DS was elcs at 39 weeks & 10lb 1oz-dh is ober 6ft-dont think this one is as big!

TotallyEggFlipped · 19/06/2013 05:19

evelyn - my PIL arrived from Ireland the day after DD was born, when we were still in the hospital. It was much too soon for me & I felt trapped & exposed - I was in my PJs, trying to BF, couldn't go to the loo without them sat right outside etc. They came every day to see the baby & mostly just ignored me unless they wanted me to take their photo with DD. They're coming 2 weeks after due date this time, which I still think is a bit too soon, but we don't get any say in the matter. I think 3-4 weeks sounds much better.

TotallyEggFlipped · 19/06/2013 05:25

eek at everyone's ginormo-babies! DD was just under 5lb. This one was over 5lb at growth scan last week, so at least I know I don't need to wash the 'tiny baby' clothes, but it doesn't have the genes to be very big - we're a family of short arses (mostly from DH's side, my family are fairly tall except me) Grin.

dinkystinky · 19/06/2013 06:25

I love that babies, like people, come in all different sizes and with different little personalities from day one - and reading about peoples babies on here just reinforces that. Look at little Oliver with the biggest personality of all running rings around his medics with hi us shenanigans :-)

Evelyn - 4 weeks sounds a good point for visitors provided they'll look after themselves, help out with Ds and make life easier rather than harder for you.

Totally - grr at your in laws. I think I'm super lucky in having in laws I get on with (not bossom buddies but like and respect each other and accept each other as we are) and that my parents and sister get on with my in laws too - some of the stories I read in mn about in laws make my blood boil!
