Welcome back all June-ers, just realised we were about to run out of space on the old thread.

I used all my holiday allowance and worked back from when I wanted to go back -end of Jan- and then figured when I could go off from, im glad I did with how big he is and this pgp and the fact I do 9 hours in a call centre with silly annoyed people who very nearly got told to eff off, other half was getting a little worried about me

learnermummy · 09/05/2013 16:19

Yes it is windy pinkapples, the roof felt has blown off one of our sheds. DH will be pleased!

AlohaMama · 09/05/2013 16:32

Knomski glad you're little one is staying put for the moment. Are you still staying in hospital? How long have you been there now?

Had productive evening last night sorting/packing boxes and de-cluttering. I know we're not moving for 3 months but it feels good to make progress. More of the same today, then steam cleaning the carpet tomorrow. Its all fun and games here!

Knomski, good news re your little one. :-)

Devil, you did the right thing getting checked out. I know they'd prefer you to go in and everything be fine than the alternative.

Aloha, how productive you've been and it is still early yet!

I've done loads of cross stitch over the last couple of days, so have just had time out ordering some Lamaze toys (3 for 2 at Tesco) and stuff from Boots (£15 off if you spend £60, plus the 10 points per £ with the Parenting Club). Not entirely productive but a nice break.

Having a little lie down for now. Really rather tired.

Oh, and I'm glad I finished last week. Work was far too much physical and mental effort!

AlohaMama · 09/05/2013 16:47

Hmm trying to plan the weeks meals but so far have only managed to write down desserts. This week I'll be mostly eating strawberry cheesecake, coffee cake and caremelized oranges. I think that counts as healthy pregnancy diet, right?

MrsBri · 09/05/2013 16:49

There's fruit in there, so I'd say it is fine!

arlandria666 · 09/05/2013 17:01

Midwife been to see me today got to go back in to maternity assessment blood pressure sky high and stupid swelling :-(
She told me to take an overnight bag as she doubts they will send me home even spoke about inducing me i just hope she is being dramatic! Got a bag packed just in case just gutted its my last day at work tomorrow and meant to be getting my hair cut tonight...best laid plans and all that :-(
Hopefully everything will be okay once i get there x x
Congratulations cycle :-D x x

MrsBri · 09/05/2013 17:07

I hope all is OK, arlandria. How far along are you now? They may induce if they think that's the safest option for baby. Good luck! Xx

AmIGoingMad · 09/05/2013 17:25

Aw arlandria sorry your plans have been scuppered and that evil high blood pressure has struck. Maybe it'll be treatable when you get there and if they do induce you'll know its best for you both. And a bonus would be maybe having more of mat leave with baby. Rest up as much as you can and take care.

Devil glad to hear that all was fine! Like mrsbri said- much better to get checked and all be fine than to ignore and risk it not being. And its a massive weight off your mind too which can only be a good thing.

Aloha I've been doing our menu plan before the food shop too and I'm struggling to stick to nutritious stuff! Ben and jerrys and real crisps roast ox are probably not the nutrients that the baby's after!

arlandria666 · 09/05/2013 17:50

36 weeks today mrsbri but he is breech so not sure what they will do still waiting to be seen will update once i know what's happening its very busy in assessment tonight makes it all a bit real! Eeeeek!x x

SunnyL · 09/05/2013 17:55

Just been given my first free pass for being pregnant. Pooch has been very ill today all over the utility room floor. DH declared I shouldn't be cleaning up liquid poo in my condition and took over. Of course we'll all be dealing with liquid poo in a few weeks but it was nice to get a pass.

Anyway I survived my 3 day meeting. More to the point the witch survived the 3 day meeting because I didn't kill her. Yay to no jail time for murder!!

Oh and cycle many many congrats. Jealous of your baby but grateful I have a few more weeks to get used to the idea.

Knomski · 09/05/2013 18:43

I'm out of hospital now, was in for jus over a week so very glad to b home with my other kiddies :) on bed rest and have to keep a close eye for any scar tenderness as still tightening but much less now. That and pgp is keeping me practically housebound but hey ho whatever keeps her in there!

Hope everything settles down for you arlandria:) hope everyone else's baby's are behaving x

redwellybluewelly · 09/05/2013 19:35

Was my turn to have a naughty baby today, no movements between waking up this morning and even after lunch so went in to be checked. Horrible experience. Reminds me just how much I loathe and detest our hospital and also just how much I hate the idea of this CS.

Baby welly is ok, but the MW was erring on the side of caution and I got a serious bollocking for not having my notes with me. Sigh.

MrsBri · 09/05/2013 19:47

Sunny, a) no, you shouldn't be cleaning liquid poo and b) it would involve getting onto the floor. Neither is great when heavily pregnant!

Knomski, Baby B decided that a good place to drop further into the pelvis was Sainsburys. Ouch. So not really behaving!

Arlandria, I hope you get seen soon and get a better idea as to what's happening. Keep us updated. Xx

cyclecamper · 09/05/2013 19:48

Thank you everybody. No idea what we are going to call him! I realised just how much I've been in denial about actually having the baby - I'm totally in shock. There are lots of things I have been avoiding even contemplating since I have been in hospital for the last week.

He is keeping his temp up and beginning to get the hang of feeding which is brill. He only has to go to the neonatal unit to have his antibiotics and apart from that he's in with me. What a star! If he manages to avoid an infection, we should be able to escape at the weekend.

One bright idea I did have, that has totally turned out to be genius, if I do say so myself, is to bring a shewee to hospital. You can direct your wee away from the stitches - it is such a relief - not even a tiny bit of stinging! I'm not sure how I am going to manage the other problem Confused.

learnermummy · 09/05/2013 19:50

Actually Mrsbri i find myself crawling around the floor a lot - seems easier than bending down all the time to tidy up toys etc! Not cleaning up poo though!

MrsBri · 09/05/2013 19:56

I can get down to the floor. Getting up is a real challenge though! I'm impressed you're managing both!!

And that is a genius idea, cycle. And what an utter champ baby cycle is too!

AlohaMama · 09/05/2013 20:02

Cycle eat lots of prunes then it won't be so bad!

Squeezie water bottle with warm water works well too, squeeze water on yourself while you pee. Plus means you don't have to wipe you can just gently dab dry.

Glad they let you out knomski, much nicer to be home with the family I would think.

learnermummy · 09/05/2013 20:16

Fab idea cycle, must find my shewee. See if midwives can give you lactulose to help with the other too.

Steffanoid · 09/05/2013 20:21

re the floor thing I just nearly got stuck, the dog rolled the ball under the tv unit and looked at me with his puppy dog eyes, que me on tge floor on my back so.im not on my belly getting the ball for him took me about 15 minutes to get myself off the floor, the dog has now deserted the favourite ball because my oh is home, shows where his alliances lie

pinkapples · 09/05/2013 21:14

Hehe I can still get on the floor it's getting up that's the problem Grin

Having some odd feelings today sometimes like sharp feelings down there and then the others are like when I move to quick not comfortable at all but not really painful got midwife apt on Monday when ill be 36 weeks so will see what she says

arlandria666 · 09/05/2013 21:22

after 3 hours of monitoring and checks blood pressure checks doctors checking reflexes etc they finally let me home phew!
while i was there they gave me a scan to check position and he is now head down :-D
so although today started off quite traumatic its ended on a positive note :-) early nite for me and time to start enjoying my maternity leave! goin to pop into work to say goodbye tomorrow then its feet up til little man comes!x x

AmIGoingMad · 09/05/2013 21:53

Cycle that's great news that baby cycle is doing so well!Smile I'll second that lactulose suggestion. If they don't give it to you, get DH to go to boots to pick some up for you.

Arlandria- I'm glad that all was good when they checked you over! And great that baby is now head down! Have a nice relax now Smile

Steffanoid · 09/05/2013 21:55

my OH just very nonchalantly said it's ok if you eat a little more cause the baby is growing exponentially ! aca-scuse me but he is not the one carrying this large baby around, he's lucky I've got no energy else id have hurt him!

thedevilisinthedetail · 09/05/2013 21:55

learnermummy the baby is measuring small for dates and as it doesn't move much generally they seem to just want to work on the side of caution. My other children were 10lbs and 9lbs so small will be a change!
