Wonderful news for today as we welcome babycandy and little Charlotte and hoping that this thread sees little Alex and Evan home very soon.

How many more babies will this thread see?

Came into hospital and I'm 4cm so in birth centre, today's the day-my due date Grin

usernamegoeshere · 06/04/2013 13:39

ooooooh on your due date! what a punctual baby, you must be so excited

LikeCandy · 06/04/2013 17:55

Hi all, I am reading and keeping up, just not posting!
Congrats to all the new arrivals - and pending arrivals; Essex!!

BabyCandy doing well, she is truly gorgeous, 2 weeks old today!
I am on antibiotics for an infection in my c section scar (ouch!) but it's not stopping me doing anything!
Still another week until DH starts paternity leave but my Mum is here until Wednesday to help out.

xx

SneezySnatcher · 06/04/2013 18:26

Essex I am Envy that you are in labour on our shared due date when I am showing zero signs - good luck!

wishfulthinking1 · 06/04/2013 18:29

Ooooh essex - how exciting! I'm also very Envy - due date tomorrow and so far no sign of anything!!!

Hope you'll be soon sneezy!
I've done some gardening today- thought lots of bending and stretching might get things going- but nothing yet- fingers crossed something happens tonight- we're out at a party so I'm hoping I don't have any sort of spectacular public breaking of waters (but then atleast baby would be on the way!!!)

39+6!

SneezySnatcher · 06/04/2013 19:01

wishful I really wasn't expecting anything today - if only 4% of babies arrive on their DD then it stands to reason that 96% don't.

What's annoying me is the blooming texts from people saying "Any news?", like babies just magically think 'Right. It's my due date. Time to get out!'

And to top it all off, I've just vomited everywhere in the middle of writing this!

EmpressMatilda · 06/04/2013 19:57

Sneezy Oh yes -I totally agree! I've had loads of texts and facebook messages yesterday and today asking whether there's any news. I didn't realise I'd actually told that many people my due date!

Every day since the middle of last week my sister has sent me a text asking how I am when normally she isn't in the slightest bit interested. What she really means is 'any signs of my nephew yet?'.

I am starting to chill out a bit more about it today. If I am still pregnant by the end of the week then I will panic but odds are in favour of him coming in the next 5 days.

40+1

EssexWelsh · 06/04/2013 21:10

Well bang on time, 17.15 today after 13 hours of labour, baby boy is here, no name, 7lb10oz, great labour in water birth, just need to get some sleep if only I could stop staring at him!! Grin

40+0!!

KelleStar · 06/04/2013 21:15

ok, just updated the stats thread here I've added the few arrivals from FB [hope you don't mind] that haven't yet posted here.

Haven't seen a post from 3 posters whose waters went but didn't see a baby update, I've moved them to a new section [so I remember] if that's okay as well.

DH is knackered and has gone to be early and has asked me to stay downstairs to give him a reverse lie in. He likes morning snuggles with DD too much to care for a lie in, in the morning.

I've done tons of gardening in this sunshine, no sign of things happening. Though I'm feeling bump has moved/is moving into a back to back position as I can feel the bum on the rightside, legs on the left, with punches low down on the left too.

HavingALittleFaithBaby · 06/04/2013 21:48

Congratulations Essex! He's gorgeous :) Get some rest!!!

Is anyone else feeling a bit befuddled right now? I feel a weird mix of emotions. I am so tired of being pregnant, I'm nervous about having a baby, I'm quite nervous about looking after her when she does arrive?! I think I almost want to go into labour so I can stop thinking about it all and just get on with it!

birdbrain17 · 06/04/2013 21:59

congrats to all the new mums this is so exciting can't believe after all those anxious months of waiting so many people have met their healthy little bundles!Grin

faith I know what you mean about mixed emotions, one min I'm desperate to go into labour the next I'm busy crying that I don't want a baby yet...poor DH doesn't know how to respond!and all the stupid comments from friends and family really don't help the mood swings every time I phone a family member to ask them something I can hear in their voice as they answer the phone they think I've had the baby and friends keep on giving really unhelpful stories of when they were waiting and went over etc I think I'm having a want the baby out now mood Wink

p.s just 2 hours till I hit my due date, any due date buddies still around to wait with me?!

KelleStar · 06/04/2013 23:02

I've not told family my exact due date as it drove me nuts last time, 6 days overdue. This time I've said it'll be here by the end of the month. Thought that would be a good thing, but instead, they still call me. I've told them all that I'm really uncomfortable and tetchy and don't bother popping in as I'm wearing pants and an old t-shirt and I am not putting clothes on to entertain them. I'll come and see them if I am in the mood for socialising. They are all local and don't think it's fair that I don't pop in weekly to have a coffee/chat, but there are lots of them, if I did that I'd be in and out of houses all week long, with no time for DD's activities. As it is, I try to see everyone once a month and those that aren't so pleasant, well I don't feel guilty if DD isn't in the mood for socialising either.

Typically sent a bulk text message to all family to say baby arrived and all was well, but most of them forgot to check for messages and were waiting for a phone call. Three days later, when I finally got home and had a chance to do some calls, they were most not impressed. Yet they can all use a mobile phone and answered it when I rang them.

Fell asleep on the sofa dreaming about stodgy puddings and now that's all I fancy. no milk or eggs for home made custard, and no instant packets to be found.

Going to head to bed now.

wishfulthinking1 · 06/04/2013 23:41

Big congratulations essex!

birdbrain - I'm here- due tomorrow (well 20 minutes from now!) no sign of anything going on yet! Just back from party- tried to 'dance the baby out' - but I think I wore the wrong shoes- now have very sore feet!!

Anyway- let's hope we both have some spectacular waters breaking in the night- good luck!!

Xxxx

wishfulthinking1 · 07/04/2013 00:01

Eeek- check out the time! I'm officially 40+0!

Eventful day here Grin Grin Grin

Celeste Elizabeth arrived safely at 20.15 today and we are snuggling as I type this on my phone. She weighed in at a respectable 7 lb 8 but looks tiny to me as DD1 was 8 lb 8!

I had some period type cramps, well 'tightenings' last night and didn't sleep well but was fine this morning. Went out for lunch today at pizza empress and walked up steep hill in Lincoln (faith will know the one!) them DH went to Ikea 1.5 hrs away leaving me alone with DD. Felt just a bit 'crampy' had a blissful shower at 1845 got out and realised I needed to push. DH just home thank god. Ended up with a 999 ambulance and transfer & DD2 was born 9 minutes after arriving on labour ward. Transition wasn't great (think rolling around screaming at DH!) but the rest was fine tbh. Actually pushing and crowning didn't hurt.

I have had a bath, tea and toast and am tucked up on PN ward. Midwives were AMAZING I had 3 as she was born! Do have a few stitches after a second degree tear just from the speed and she passed lots of meconium so is being closely monitored for 24 hrs. I sadly look like a witch as I bit the gas and air so hard I chipped my front tooth!! (first done aged 11, knocked cap off)

essex huge congrats to you! Our babies share a birthday how lovely.

faith so much praise for Lincoln, they were amazing.

OP posts:
HavingALittleFaithBaby · 07/04/2013 06:08

too I can't believe you walked up Steep Hill at 40 weeks pregnant! No wonder you went into labour! I can't believe how quick it was for you! Shock I'm glad you got to the hospital ok and they were good - always nice to have positive feedback about somewhere you're off to! Sorry about your tooth!

Kelle I have told people 'end of the month' to hopefully give me a week or so after my due date (23rd) but found out while DH is ridiculously secretive about the name, he's been telling everyone my due date! PITA!

Wide awake now with some cramps and a ridiculous thirst. I dunno what's going on with my body?! May as well get up and see how I go...

wishfulthinking1 · 07/04/2013 09:21

Well, isn't it just all go here! Massive congratulations toobreathless!

I've made a list of jobs to do today, otherwise I'm going to go out of my mind with excitement! We're going to down tools after lunch and go for a long walk too to see if it helps. Would really love baby to arrive ASAP. DH is a teacher and has this week off as Easter hols- he's going to take 1 week off as paternity leave, but the sooner baby is here, to more time we'll have as a threesome!

40+0!!!

I wonder if anyone will be today! let it be me, let it be me!!

(To be honest, I don't imagine for a second baby will come today- not a sign of anything and I always imagined I'd just feel a bit different on the day!

EmpressMatilda · 07/04/2013 09:40

Wow too that's great news and sounds like the labour was pretty good. I think you were the last of my due date buddies left to go! Sigh. I have been out and about, keeping busy, walking a lot but still nothing. Maybe I need to find a steep hill!

Congrats to essex as well. It's all go on this thread!

40+2

Teapig · 07/04/2013 10:42

Congratulations essex and too!!

too, it sounds like it all happened very quickly thank goodness you made it to the delivery suite in time.

Part of me wants baby to arrive now and part of me feels so unprepared and clueless about looking after a newborn that I want her to stay put a bit longer.

11 days until my due date and have a feeling I'll go over.

Um, sorry what does this have to do with our ante-natal thread? There's plenty of threads on MN about this already and if people want to contribute, we will...?! Most of us are just focusing on having our babies or looking after them if they've already arrived!

birdbrain17 · 07/04/2013 11:02

wishful I also made a list of things to do today mostly cleaning stuff, anything to keep me active and try get the baby out Wink I do have a bit of a crampy tummy ache at the moment but I've had it on and off for about a week already so not getting too excited, it's probably just from my iron supplements. On the bright side at least we both made it to our due dates without any scary premature stories...

bunnygirl80 · 07/04/2013 12:10

Congrats essex and too

Hope everyone else isn't kept waiting too long. I told very few people my actual due date so I could avoid texts etc. DD ended up being 2 wks early, so it wasn't an issue in the end. I actually only told my parents and the pils the date of my cs, so we wouldn't have people texting all day if the surgery was delayed for any reason.

Can't believe DD is already 2 weeks old. DH is back at work tomorrow, and I'm dreading being on my own with two children. DS is at daycare on Mon and Tues so Weds will be d day. Bedtime is what worries me as dd likes to cluster feed in the evenings and DS won't contemplate her being in the room when I put him to bed.

JaquelineHyde · 07/04/2013 12:54

Hello everyone...I'm home!! Grin Grin

After lots of hunting and research the microbiology department found an antibiotic I could take orally so I could get home. Hurrah!

The drip anti-bs weren't working at all and the pain killers were having no effect and they couldn't give me anything more powerful for obvious reasons.

I am in loads of pain as these new anti-bs won't kick in for a few days but I'm at home and in pain instead of in hospital and in pain and it's amazing what a difference that makes.

Loving reading through and catching up. A huge CONGRATULATIONS to all of the new arrivals that have just been popping out all over the place while I have been gone.

No signs here of anything happening but it would be nice to get over this infection first anyway.

Hope everyone is enjoying the first signs of spring.
