PS currently living in top shop/seraphine leggings or seraphine under bump jeans, slouchy asos tops with tank tops underneath and top shop mat jumpers at the weekend as have to be much smarter for work during the week (love my seraphine grey dress, 29.50 in sale, black under bump trousers and smart Isabella Oliver tops and Isabella Oliver wrap dresses for work - lots available on eBay).

New look has NOTHING in stock - no under bump jeans under a 14 at all so frustrating
Check out dotty p website? Weird

TotallyEggFlipped · 17/03/2013 04:54

iclaudius that is weird. Why bother with a maternity range if that's all the effort you're going to make?

dinkystinky · 17/03/2013 07:32

How odd - new look must be moving to new season stuff. Didn't even know Dorothy Perkins did maternity wear (well I say did, but it doesn't really does it!)

dinkystinky · 17/03/2013 07:43

Iclaudius - just checked new look site and showing skinny under bump jeans, boot cut under bumps and another type in stock in all sizes. Didnt try to put anything in basket though. Maybe they have had an overnight restock - possibly worth a look.

Loving the sound of the lemon cake dinky I might need to do done baking in a mo... Maybe cookies Smile

Shiv your bargains sound good!

Can't remember who was asking about mat west but I like new look and h&m for basic wear- good trousers in h&m! I also got a nice wrap dress for work/just looking a bit smarter from jojo- good for breast feeding after bean is born too- I had a little giggle at the gaps in the boob area very immature Blush

On other news I bought some nipple cream at the weekend (boots own- don't know if it's any good yet). My nipples have been a bit dry lately and I don't know if my mind has been playing tricks on me but I thought they also felt moist... Dry yet moist- strange I know... Looked like they were glistening with water the other day... Anyone else had this?

Also can you ask for mat b1 forms to be sent to you? My school seem to think they need it by Easter. But I texted my midwife and she said I would get it at my 25 week appointment (which is during the Easter hols so I'm confused...

esme80 · 17/03/2013 08:23

Dorothy perkins had good variety mat clothes when i was pg w ds 2 years ago, maybe they are stopping range or something? Does seem strange...

cheese my mw had no prob sending me mat b1 a few weeks ago, when I was 22 weeks i think. They are not to be given out before 20 weeks I seem to remember reading, but most workplaces want them by 25 the lastest so shes not giving you much time?

Pancakes for breakfast now...

Devilforasideboard · 17/03/2013 08:48

Morning all!

Totally DH and I braved an NCT sale yesterday and it was great! We're members (as we're booked in for their birth & beyond course in a couple of months) so got in early which was a huge bonus. It wasn't manic but it helped that I knew the main thing I wanted was a bouncy/vibrating chair so made a beeline for those. Got a chair, baby bath (was swithering about bothering with one but for £2 it doesn't matter if it's barely used), baby gym and teddy bear for £30 so very happy with that.

Cheese To my slight horror there was white discharge stuff in my black bra when I took it off last night and my nipples feel a bit funny having been fine for a few weeks so I think something may be going on.

Bobble sems to have turned round as I'm feeling kicks and movement round the back and in my bladder. Feels very odd!

I've now got pains at the bottom of my bump when I stand on one leg/walk a lot/turn over in bed. I'm trying to decide whether to wait til I see the midwife a week on Monday or make a doc's appt this week as I'm scared it might be the start of SPD. Does anyone have any advice?

23+4

iclaudius · 17/03/2013 12:28

Dinky thanks for that but NOTHING in under size 14-16 on new look for weeks now - I'm ten ish and currently struggling in normal clothes till places stock up
I even wrote to new look to ask why but no reply

TotallyEggFlipped · 17/03/2013 12:54

iclaudius I got my size 8 maternity jeans from H&M. They had loads of smaller sizes in store.

Abzs · 17/03/2013 13:03

iclaudius Nothing I ordered last week is on the site now. Odd, because 3 of 4 were basic black jersey full price items - the kind I'd expect to be continuous stock.

dinkystinky · 17/03/2013 14:08

Iclaudius I think its a badly set up sir. If you go to trousers section it says precisely what you are saying. But if you go to view all, it beings up the under bump jeans I mentioned earlier in all sizes including 8 and 10 - and have just done a beta test and you can add them to your basket. So try that way. My bil works in IT setting up websites for companies - and redoing them - and is constantly amazed at how crap some sites are through not even updating stock availability through the subsections properly, so I always try different ways to get to items if the site seems clunky.

Cheese - I think you can ask for a copy to be faxed/posted if needed. Some people get milk in their boobs early - some don't get it till after the birth. Breast pads are your friend if you are producing milk - I like tommee tippee ones (super thin, absorbent and disposable). Do not go for tesco basic ones - awful, scritcht, stick to your skin. Ouch!

Devil - great bargains there. If at bottom of bump and into hips does sound like SPD/pgp - you need a physio referral to figure out what moves to avoid (basically advice seems to boil down to keep everything parallel to the women with SPD in my yoga class).

Since posting this morning, I have been emitting from both ends and have awful nausea and gripey tummy pains so suspect am down with another bloody bug. Trying to sleep it off and starve it out by sticking to water only. Amazingly for once I'm not hungry so must be the right thing to do. Dh and the boys are being stars - bringing me water, toys and story books to cheer me up in between their rainy day schedule of homework, science experiments and DVDs (can hear them giggling away at Madagascar 2 as I type).

First line of last post meant to say badly set up SITE! Love my nexus but hate the autocorrect it has built in to it.

Hey everyone, will need to catch up when I have a bit of time.

No toddler free weekend for me, SIL had to bring DS back as he was ill on Fri, he got worse and we took him to OOH yesterday after noticing lots of discharge from his ear. Poor thing apparently has a viral infection that has turned into an ear infection and a probable perforated ear drum. :( She thought it was perforated but couldn't tell as there is so much in his ear. :(

I still feel rotten too and have taken an anti emetic today and have a bad stomach (TMI!).

AMA You're right, the SW had her head screwed on and obviously was experienced enough to know when there actually was a problem and when it was a complete over reaction. That MW made me feel like shit though, she made it out as if I would harm my child and he wasn't even born yet! Angry

RE: New Look. I think it must be a seasonal thing, I have a pair of size 10 over bump jeans from there. Very comfy but massive for a 10 (I'm normally a 12 and they are quite loose on me).

Best bargains are at the second hand baby sales! I have a snuggle baby zip up swaddle wrap from one, still in the packet and I bought it for £1.

We bought a Hercules twin raptor. It's huge but I bought it as I already have the single and it is by far the best buggy/pram we have had and we've went through just about every make there is. Very sturdy, very comfy and has loads of space. You can fit a decent sized couple of bags of shopping underneath and it has a changing bag built in to the hood, the hood covers the entire seat so is great in summer and winter when they want a sleep and it practically floats up and down stairs. It even has a hand break!

Hope everyone is well. x

I ordered some jeans from NL last week, added them to my basket, paid for them only to be refunded a few days later when they realised they were out of stock! I'm going to buy another pair of Mamas and Papas boot cut, £30 but lovely. They size them up a little though so I'm going to order the next size down now.

SchroSawMargeryDaw · 17/03/2013 14:31

Dinky That sounds like the bug I have! I hope you're okay, it's bloody horrid.

Cheese I always get my milk very early and have had it this time since 16 weeksish. I can spray from about 10 different holes a couple of metres across the room. Very sexy, eh? I even managed to squirt myself in my right eye with my left boob! Shock Last pg I first found my milk by squirting it half way across the room on to DP's laptop screen while he was using it, think that gave him a shock!

Lansinoh breast pads and nipple cream are your friend, expensive but you wont regret it. Last thing you need is dry cracked and sore nipples before the baby is even here. Last time I ended up with an infection because I was engorged at around 22/23 weeks, so watch out for them filling up a lot, lots of pain, heat or discharge.

cheekbyjowl · 17/03/2013 14:40

Oh my goodness schro.that must be annoying to put up with but thats pretty funny. Super soaker boobs!

dinkystinky · 17/03/2013 14:44

Hmm sounds like NL have major supply issues then.

Sorry you didn't get a child free weekend Schro - ear infections are horrible. Hot water bottle against effected side seems to help - as does alternating calpol and nurofen infants for the pain. Ds1 - who is part fish I think given his love of swimming - gets them a lot. Yep, virus is gross - haven't been sick or emptied myself for a couple of hours so am hoping I can stave it off as have busy work week ahead and my partners on deals I am on are on holiday. I second the lansinoh cream (if going in to deliver first timers, take it with you) and breastpad recommendations - they were my favourites too last time but abit more pricey than the tommee tippee ones which I found to be just as good.

Cheek Think I'm used to it now, must have given DS a bit of a shock when he first went on the breast though! :o

Dinky I think my DS is a fish too, he's a lover of water and goes mad for it. He's been getting the calpol and nurofen (love the new bottles and syringes!) and he's on yucky banana tasting anti biotics. I really feel for you having to go through it all the time with yours, it's horrible. :(

Hope your virus settles down, very annoying that we aren't allowed anything like immodium. :(

The lansinoh is pricey but very worth it and lasts ages, I never tried the tommee tippee ones so I probably will this time as money as tight, thanks for the tip.

TotallyEggFlipped · 17/03/2013 15:28

dinky I hope your getting better & it's just a quick bug.

DD has had a fever for the last couple of days. No idea why, probably 'just a virus' but she's very clingy & couldn't sleep last night. I was up with her from midnight to six, so currently reading the papers and MNing in bed while she naps and I think my mum is going yo take her out for a bit this afternoon if she's not too cranky. (DD, not my mum!)

Cheeseandbread · 17/03/2013 16:48

Schro you just had me laughing out loud! The boots cream I bought I don't like... It smells fine- bit like E45 but has lumpy bits in it... It was only about £3 though so maybe I'll go for the more expensive stuff.

Dinky you seem to know about everything... I hope I'll have the knowledge you posses one day. Glad you are feeling a bit better. Bugs are horrid!

Devil it seems we may be in the same boat...

Esme and Dinky thanks for mat b1 advice- I've text the MW and asked if it can be sent to me, so I'll have to wait and see.

I made some cookies earlier and am munching now Smile

SchroSawMargeryDaw · 17/03/2013 16:51

Always glad to give a laugh. :o

I'm sitting munching a full pack of cream cheese and a box of breadsticks... Think the anti-emetic helped.

Cheeseandbread · 17/03/2013 17:18

Schro just realised you've been poorly too- poor you! Glad you are munching now. I felt like cream cheese earlier too- and phillidelphia is half price in tescos st the mo- whoop whoop!

I might need some toast and cheese again now...

SchroSawMargeryDaw · 17/03/2013 17:20

Haha, it's okay. :) More worried about DS than me but he's seeming better and has been sleeping for 2 hours!

Ohhh, cheese on toast...

I've just ^finished an entire tub of cream cheese> and half a packet of breadsticks. Blush
