I was worried that I had been imagining things but clearly not!

harverina · 28/02/2013 07:35

I haven't got really obvious symptoms yet - is that something to worry about?

With my first pregnancy my boobs were very very sore early on. This time they are a little sore. I am really tired too. During my last pregnancy I felt sick a lot but was never actually sick. I suppose I might not feel the same this time round?

I am seeing the midwife on Monday, not sure when my scan will be...where is everyone else roughly? I'm on the west of Scotland and get 2 scans in total if everything goes to plan Grin

honey86 · 28/02/2013 07:47

Theicingontop · 28/02/2013 08:01

No symptoms here either apart from feeling a bit tired, in fact if we weren't ttc I'd probably be oblivious right now!

Happy to share lexib

I'm planning to make this but with a different canvas outer fabric, I can't pull off animal prints at all Grin

RubyWindsor · 28/02/2013 08:11

So tired this morning, I keep waking up way too early, 5.15 this morning with no getting back off. It must be that I've got so many new things going on in my head, but when all you read is get some rest your body is going through lots of changes, it's not that easy to do!!

Fairydogmother · 28/02/2013 08:13

some (lucky) people dont get any symptoms! My friend didnt know until she was 14 weeks gone as she had absolutely no side effects and didnt show at all.

dreading this needing to vom feeling and i've a rotten taste of metal in my mouth too - yuck

ginger biscuits at the ready!

getoffthecoffeetable · 28/02/2013 08:19

honey am totally with you in the weird dreams, they're always so vivid too, had the same when I was pregnant with DS.
It's DS's second birthday on Monday so we've got family round all weekend. Am normally a big drinker so I have no idea how I'm going to dodge this one without it being glaringly obvious...

Exciting that you've got your scan date! Can't wait to get mine all sorted.
How're you feeling Suffolk?
I might go for the antibiotics excuse. Have had an awful cough recently and the family have all been nagging me to go to the GP.
DH has said he'll just make me gin and tonics but leave out the gin lol

Diege · 28/02/2013 08:45

Morning! Woke at 3am and had to rush to bathroom - vomiting and diarrhea (sp?),lovely. Didn't know where to put myself, literally Blush. Think it might have something to do with then filet o' fish McDonalds meal I convinced myself would make me feel better Hmm.
I'm not telling work for as long as possible, dreading it actually. This will be my 3rd mat leave in 6 years with them (3 others with previous work) and I kn ow they'll be lots of tutting, albeit behind my back.
Must think about contacting gp/mw but may wait a few more weeks as very early days and my mc rate is pretty scary for my age.
Welcome to the new peeps. Oh and I'm located in NW England (though Welsh!).

Theicingontop · 28/02/2013 08:53

Oh ok, well that happened fast. Just threw up my breakfast.

heartonsleeve · 28/02/2013 09:01

Morning all!

Feeling a bit sick this morning - but it's not too hard to cope with as I'm at home this week. However, next week I'm starting a new job (temp) and I'm kind of dreading having to be out of the house at 7:45 dressed, functioning with lunch made and breakfast eaten. And how to cope all day long in an office...

On the plus side, I've not actually puked yet, so here's hoping it will all be okay!

Anybody got any tips on surviving at work?

getoffthecoffeetable · 28/02/2013 09:27

Sorry to hear about those of you who are feeling sick. There's nothing worse. Hopefully after a good puke you feel better.
My work will be totally expecting it from me. Have always said I want more than one child so it was inevitable although took seven cycles this time!

MTB82 · 28/02/2013 10:01

Blimey you poor things sorry you're all struggling, I'm actually feeling ok but weirdly I kind of wish I felt more sick so i know there's stuff going on in there. I'm a lecturer and a bit concerned how that will work. Not teaching this week but got a big class next week and lessons are seriously time pressured so really hoping it doesn't kick in next week. Don't think the students would appreciate being kept late due to me having breaks with the toilet.

Hope nobody traumatised themselves last night with OBEM, I tried to put it on and my DH told me I was going to scare myself and turned it off.

MTB82 · 28/02/2013 10:04

Ps I only started my job 8 months ago and had a month of that off to get married so not sure they'll be too impressed!

Equally sure they wouldn't be too impressed by the fact I have been totally unproductive this week I just cannot concentrate. Anyone else finding that?

RubyWindsor · 28/02/2013 10:45

I can't think about anything else, I keep going off in my mind, people must think I've become so ignorant!

TheSperminator · 28/02/2013 11:03

Thanks for accepting me.

I'm sorry for all that are getting the sickness. Not nice.

DW and I both had broken sleep last night but I think that was just from the excitement. So far her symptoms seem to be mild. She suffers from IBS so is used to feeling dodgy in the morning.

Got our gp appt on Tuesday

Ordered half a library worth of books last night from Amazon to give us some reading to look forward to.

honey86 · 28/02/2013 11:18

arr hope your dw gets better soon Thanks i do like reading up on it myself even though ive read it a dozen times already ive bought 2 mags so far Grin x

MTB82 · 28/02/2013 11:29

Great minds sperminator I've got a book winging its way to me too the drs told me the "what to expect...." range are quite good and it seemed to have pretty good reviews. Guess that's one for home reading, can't really whip that one out on the daily train commute.

Theicingontop · 28/02/2013 11:31

When is everyone planning to announce their news?

I'm getting impatient. A couple of friends on facebook have announced they're expecting around the same time as me!! But OH and I have agreed to wait until the 3 month mark. I kinda want to get in on the early announcement action Blush

honey86 · 28/02/2013 11:53

ive bought a top for dd (3.9yrs old) a pink one with 'this princess is now a big sister' on it. after my docs appt me n dp are goin to see my mum n sisters and casually send her in to show them her new princess top Grin cant wait to see their faces lol x

getoffthecoffeetable · 28/02/2013 12:10

We're hoping to wait until the scan has all been done and we know everything's ok although last time, we had a scan at nine weeks as the nuchal scan wasn't offered on the NHS at the time. We then told family and waited until three month scan to tell work but they'd already guessed because I was showing by then and the hospital appointments gave it away.
Don't you show earlier with your second? Have got serious bloat belly at the moment, my body 's very good with water retention, nice!

getoffthecoffeetable · 28/02/2013 12:12

honey love your idea mught have to do something similar with DS, not princess though obviously

Fairydogmother · 28/02/2013 12:12

i have a midwife appt next wed and got bloods taken this morning. i assume the midwife will tell me about scans etc.

i also bought a seaband acupressure band for my wrist and lo and behold my nausea has stopped!
