Hi Can i join too please. I'm another technically October (28th) but October thread was overwhelming. Got my bfp on saturday and went to gp on monday. This is my first and (quietly v excited - feeling ready to burst not being able to tell anyone!). Was quite surprised they did nothing at gp to check. Started to get worried about.... what if test was wrong.

Diege · 26/02/2013 19:37

while I have 15mths between dd1and dd2and I can say, hand on heart, that it was my favourite age gap. They are very close, still hold hands when out ( age 11 and 10) and insist on bunkbeds. They also struggle to sleep if one is away Hmm.
Oh a top for the sicklies - belvitta breakfast biscuits really settled my stomach on morning commute - milk and cereal variety - may be worth a try?

stuffthenonsense · 26/02/2013 19:38

Theicingontop...for my last birth I had a towel to keep me and baby warm in the pool. One to dry us off and one to sit on for any mess. There were just three teeny drops of blood on the rug. The neighbours had no idea I'd birthed despite roaring like at a tiger at almost midnight.
Who was asking about age gaps? My son is 11 months but I got bfp for no3 when no2 was 6 months. It was surprisingly easy have virtually no gap.

On home births, my heart says yes, my pain receptors say no Grin. I had a successful vbac with dc 5 so am hoping for one again in hospital.
Welcome MTB!

Diege · 26/02/2013 19:41

Ooh snap stuff with 15mth gap!
Right, off out to choir practice...would far rather have a nice warm bath and bed..

whilewildeisonmine · 26/02/2013 20:01

Stuff and Diege - thanks for the positive comments regarding small age gaps, whilst we're delighted at the news, I think the realisation set in today and I mostly spent today thinking 'what have we done?!'

Wibblypiglikesbananas · 26/02/2013 20:04

Wow, this thread has filled up loads! Congratulations to all the newcomers :o) So exciting!
Is anyone else not in the UK? I had my DD back home but we're now in the US with my DH's job so I'm having to work through the joys of health insurance protocol and have heard on the grapevine they're keen on loads of internal exams :o( Have my first ob/gyn appointment next Weds so will see how that goes. Will be very different from DD, where I took my green notes down to the local surgery every few weeks.
Not too many symptoms just yet, just a rather rumbly tummy and sore boobs, but that might be cos I'm trying to wean DD from her last feed (17months). Very tired - also not too good as DD likes her early morning wake ups.
Hope those of you feeling sick are doing ok, such a horrible feeling xx

honey86 · 26/02/2013 20:04

ok ill try haha Grin my gp actually had a go at me for peeing on sticks too much when i had my mc Blush

with my DCs i was always induced. ds1 was overdue 10 days and ds2 and dd stopped moving and made the docs paranoid lol x

Wibblypiglikesbananas · 26/02/2013 20:05

Oh my! That was not meant to be a happy smiley after the internal exams! Dreading that bit!

RubyWindsor · 26/02/2013 20:12

MTB I was surprised gp didn't do any sort of test, so I'm also slightly panicking about tests being wrong! Confused although sore boobs and cramps then make me believe again!! Grin

Suffolk, I know! That's what I'm dreading!

MTB82 · 26/02/2013 20:28

RubyWindsor - Glad it's not just me. Tempted to do another test this weekend to check it's still there and that the conception date has moved along by a week - or is that just asking for trouble...?

RubyWindsor · 26/02/2013 20:41

I thought about doing the same, in moments of clarity I know I'm just being paranoid, I just thought gp would have done a test to make sure? Just took my word and booked me in with mw!

Although like I say symptoms then kick in (headaches galore) and puts my wandering mind at ease!

Yes, I am looking forward to the first midwife appointment, I think that will make it seem very real! Roll on mid march!

MTB82 · 26/02/2013 21:05

I think paranoid definitely sums me up right now. If no symptoms are rearing their head I'm worried; if I get stomach cramps or feel a bit ikky I worry. Haven't had many symptoms really aside from a few stomach cramps, not really getting the whole sore bbs thing really either - aghhhhh! I def need to chill out. Can't wait for first midwife appointment to get some sort of nod that all is ok.

Asked my GP surgery what I need to do re telling them about pregnancy. Receptionist told me to I need to drop off a urine sample at the surgery Confused.

Still really paranoid about this pregnancy. The nausea has been replaced with a massive appetite and I am peeing all the time.
