Yes icing am definitely going to be playing the fat card a lot hehe Wink

SterlingS · 08/03/2013 10:19

I'm taking the pregnacare ones - other half went out and bought them for me, had already been taking folic anyway when we'd officially decided to ttc, little did we know I was already a few weeks pregnant!!

Am worried I am becoming obsessed with cheese and onion crisps - anyone else got any food cravings??

Fairydogmother · 08/03/2013 10:35

i had a bad allergic reaction to the pregnacare tablets. they do seem wildly expensive for no reason too!

i'm just in the mood for more starchy foods like bread and potatoes at the min but its cold over here so maybe thats why!

MummaPanda · 08/03/2013 11:08

I use santogen, they r only like £3! N have same stuff in all the others do

GinSling82 · 08/03/2013 11:19

I'm taking the pregnacare ones, I ordered off amazon and got 3 months for about £6 so I thought that was pretty good. I know your supposed to get quite a bit of calcium too which isn't in the vits so I've been buying yoghurt and its been a good excuse for a little extra cheese!Wink

Yes I'm also getting the very glamorous white discharge! I'm also incredibly bloated, I look like I'm showing already and it's all probably wind and not baby!! Think I'm constipated too. Oh what fun!

CheeseandGherkins · 08/03/2013 11:21

Tentative hello, I'm due on Nov 7th based on lmp. Disabled my profile for now just in case anyone I know sees!

MotherOfCleo · 08/03/2013 11:22

I had a bad reaction to the pregnacare ones too Sad I was on vitaboitics immunecare plus but they had vit A which I discovered was bad so I'm just on tescos ones which are good value.

I am so tired today, dont know if it's just after a long week or if its pregnancy related. Hmm I could actually nap at my desk zzzzzzzz

Fakebook · 08/03/2013 11:25

Vitamin-wise, I'm taking 100ug of vitamin D (have vitamin D deficiency so increase my dose to keep at normal levels), 5mg folic acid (was prescribed this by doctor) and co-enzyme Q10, Magnesium and omega 3.

I also am a big believer in taking vitamin D. It's such an important vitamin and it takes part in a lot of reproductive hormone pathways. I wish the doctors/midwives would recommend it more to women of child bearing age.

I've just remembered I'm rhesus negative so will be offered anti D injections. I hate needles and hyperventilate when faced with them so I may decline the anti D, seeing as this is our last baby.

Theicingontop · 08/03/2013 11:34

My GP said prenatal vitamins were a load of nonsense and was only concerned with iron and folic acid, and wanted to make sure I was getting enough calcium. I'll be lucky to even see my GP this time though but I'm still following that same advice and only supplementing with folic acid and iron. I found pregnacare gave me awful constipation Blush

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHopeful · 08/03/2013 11:36

I totally agree with the importance of vit d. My midwife gave me a prescription for folic acid I was surprised she didn't give me vit d too.

I take Sanatogen too so haven't bothered with the nurses folic acid.

I'm really tired too motherof the pregnancy insomnia has kicked in, I hate lying in bed shattered but wide awake.

MrsTwinks · 08/03/2013 11:45

I'm out :( bad cramps last night and nasty surprise in the bed this morning. Good luck for the rest of you ladies

Fairydogmother · 08/03/2013 12:05

vitamins are notorious for causing constipation! i take folic acid one day and a vitamin with folic acid the next and alternate it. seems to stop that problem!

Fakebook · 08/03/2013 12:14

MrsTwinks, I'm so sorry :(.

Fairydogmother · 08/03/2013 12:19

vix206 · 08/03/2013 12:20

So sorry Mrs Twinks :(

getoffthecoffeetable · 08/03/2013 12:31

My best friend just rang to tell me she's twelve weeks and everything went well with the scan. Am so pleased for her and her DH. Was almost bursting to tell her that we're pregnant too. Didn't though. Her DH was on the phone to mine at the same time and he didn't cave either last time he told them both when I was barely five weeks and we'd only just found out ourselves
Just praying that this one sticks and that we'll be st our twelve week scan soon enough

getoffthecoffeetable · 08/03/2013 12:33

mrs twinks I'm so sorry, didn't see your message. So so sorry. Have you been to get checked out? Sending lots of hugs your way

pegster · 08/03/2013 12:35

Welcome to all the new ones, great to see some old friends here too now.

Mrstwinks, how very sad, take good care of yourself, and if you can bear it, keep in touch.

With regards to the vitamins I take a food-source prenatal as it contains folate instead of folic acid, high strength vitc, high strength vitd3 and an antioxidant. I try to get as many nutrients as I can from diet but I'm still breastfeeding 2 children and sometimes I just don't get the chance to fill those needs so this tops up anything lacking. As a result some days my pee is almost luminous as the extras are discarded.

It's my baby boys birthday tomorrow and I've got a list of jobs to do that fills both sides of an a4, so I'm really hoping that Mother's Day brings a lie-in.

Has anyone seen anything of Diege lately? She's not been here for a while so I hope everything's ok.

Just coming on to post stuff!! Grin. I'm fine, but very very sick and just about managing to keep the cyclizine tabs down between throwing up. Today is a 'good' day though, so making the most of it. 7 weeks today and have some on-off pinkish discharge, just on wiping but a bit unnerving all the same.I am reassured by my symptons (plus very dark line on hpt coming upo in secinds, before control) so will sit it out until 8 weeks and then get a referral just to check things out for scan before contacting mw.
So sorry mrstwinks - have been there x3 and it is such a sad and difficult time. Thinking of you x
Welcome to all the newbies - the party is swinging now Grin

suprisepitstop · 08/03/2013 13:40

Hi Ladies, can I join too? Im 37YO and this is my first pregnancy. Im 6 weeks, due 2nd November. I tested last Friday and have pretty much been walking around in a state of disbelief and shock as I had told myself it would take ages. Twas the first month I had gone off the pill (and Id been on it for years), so massive suprise. Over the shock now and am delighted and anxious and all those things. I think the worst is not being able to tell anyone (oh and Im going to miss wine flowing nights with my gfs). DH is being really supportive, but has low boredom threshold for discussing, so I am so glad!!! you are all here. its been so helpful already reading through all your posts and experiences, and not feeling alone in this.

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHopeful · 08/03/2013 13:43

Sad I'm so sorry mrstwinks. Look after yourself.

MTB82 · 08/03/2013 13:58

So sorry mrs twinks wouldn't wish that upon anyone. Take care of yourself!!

Re vits I'm taking the basic pregnacare ones which were about £3.50 and on 3 for 2 at supermarket.

Talking of missing people....ruby are you ok??! Haven't noticed any posts for a while.
