Congrats chaos and hellington, and anyone else if I've missed you!

QQ: when (and how) are you ladies planning on breaking the news? Or have you already spilled the bean Wink

harverina · 04/03/2013 23:43

Hello to the new folk! Congratulations! There are so many of us now and honey, yes a few with the same dates as us!

I had my midwife appointment this afternoon, she was lovely and spoke with me about my birth options. I had a c section last time so have to be consultant led this time which disappoints me a little as I would have loved a water birth. However I also had oc last time too so have to be careful this time. Anyway she was lovely and reassuring. My next appointment is end of march for bloods then the 12 week scan Grin

harverina · 04/03/2013 23:48

Oh and mumma I have told a few close friends and immediate family - same as last time. With my dd I sent out a group pic message of the scan to close friends and family who I had waited until 12 weeks to tell.

Feeling very sick tonight but feel like I should eat too!!! It's the weirdest feeling. Licked a bag of salt and vinegar crisps earlier While I had a nice warm bath and this helped a bit. My tummy is soooo upset!

Re. The hot bath. I love hot baths like some of you guys - my midwife last time told me its because they are concerned that the mum to be may get too hot and feel unwell and possibly faint, rather than it being linked to harming the baby. Not sure this is true though?

getoffthecoffeetable · 05/03/2013 06:33

Hi to all the newbies, lovely to meet you.
fairy if this woman at work is making it so awful for you at work that you want to leave then you should put in a grievance about her if you haven't done it already. She sounds awful xx

getoffthecoffeetable · 05/03/2013 06:35

harvina - licking the flavouring, love it! Am also starting to feel sick.
Excited about GP appointment on Friday!

SterlingS · 05/03/2013 06:41

harverina the salt and vinegar crisps thing really works doesn't it!

I've woken up with an upset stomach (sorry for tmi) and am forcing down a bowl of cereal before work, along with another cup of lemon and ginger tea. The thought of normal tea makes me feel sick at the mo and coffee and I was previously a coffee fiend!

Fairydogmother · 05/03/2013 06:43

Hi to everyone just joined!

getoff working on getting out to a new job - just doesn't go as fast as I'd like it! Think she's a classic jealous type - late 30's, unmarried and no partner etc. least that's how she comes across. I also think she doesn't have a clue at times what she's doing so when I ask questions she gets uncomfortable!

getoffthecoffeetable · 05/03/2013 07:34

Fairy You'll have to pick up some of those classic mn retorts that I always read about and wished I dared say
DS kindly slept til six this morning, feel like a new woman (albeit a bloated one!)

MotherOfCleo · 05/03/2013 09:46

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHopeful · 05/03/2013 10:32

I've been having odd sex dreams too. My sex drive has disappeared when I am awake so it's all a big odd.

MotherOfCleo · 05/03/2013 11:03

congrats okavango everything crossed for you.

MummaPanda · 05/03/2013 11:16

Ok so I rly dont want anyone to know yet, but I know my mum will ask me if I've had my period yet (had to wait for it before starting pill) so im thinking im gna have to fake a period lol. Maybe ask her to borrow a tampon for swimming or something? Any better ideas? Is anyone else planning on keeping it completely secret? I wna keep it secret til 20weeks if I can!

MotherOfCleo · 05/03/2013 11:28

humm tricky mumma will she be upset if she finds out later that you lied? Currently I just want to get to 14 weeks. I hope to tell our parents before then and our best friends but not anyone else till 14 weeks. At 14 weeks I would like to tell close friends and workmates.
I may not announce on FB until I know the sex at 20 weeks though.Hmm My OH is away for 10 days and I'm finding it lonely not being able to talk to anyone about it, I wouldnt cope waiting till 20 weeks Wink

MummaPanda · 05/03/2013 11:36

Well the thing is iv just had a baby, my daughter is 15 weeks! N my mum said to me 'don't get pregnant again, wait a few years' ..... Oops! I don't want to lie, so I thought if I ask to borrow a tampon, she will just assume, didn't say I was going to use it! Lol

Wow mummapanda, that's really quick! Won't your mum just assume your periods haven't returned after your last baby?

getoffthecoffeetable · 05/03/2013 11:57

Fingers crossed for you suffolk it really does sound like you suffer terribly.
mumma any chance you can just change the subject when she asks rather than lying? She might be upset if you lie and it sounds as though you're close.
mother I'll be really impressed if you can keep it quiet until 20 weeks. I was already showing before my twelve week scan with DS so am expecting it'll be even worse with second pregnancy.

MotherOfCleo · 05/03/2013 12:07

oh wow mumma what a quandry.

Huh true ladies, I thought I'd tell people I see but not the wider fb universe till 20 weeks, I will no doubt scream it from the rooftops at 14 weeks though Grin

MummaPanda · 05/03/2013 12:34

She knows iv had a period alredy lol. N if I just change the subject she will know!! Aarrrggghhh ill just have to wing it haha.
