MummaPanda · 05/03/2013 13:37

Well hopefully its a boy this time and I can tell them when we find out the sex. They had 2 girls so rly want a boy in the family.

honey86 · 05/03/2013 13:46

Fakebook · 05/03/2013 13:49

Hi everyone, can I join? Congratulations to everyone, I got a positive yesterday and will be due on 6th November. A bit scared because I had recurrent miscarriages after Dd and then had my DS in January 2012. I'll be having early reassurance scans at my EPU starting at 7 weeks. Not feeling any symptoms yet and I'm 5 weeks tomorrow; anyone else have any symptoms?

I'm also keeping it a secret until I'm around 20 weeks. I'm such a worry wart, I don't want to jinx anything. This will be our last baby.

SterlingS · 05/03/2013 14:00

Eurgh am feeling rotten today - nausea, tiredness and complete lack of concentration. Slightly concerned that I might be sick at some point this afternoon. Thankfully (I suppose) a few people at work have been off ill recently so I can make out I've got a stomach bug or something...

MummaPanda · 05/03/2013 14:04

Honey that's brilliant!! I will definitly use that! Grin

I'm glad there are a few of us trying to keep it secret, we can share bump hiding tricks hehe Wink

MotherOfCleo · 05/03/2013 14:10

good thinking honey

Nope fake im pretty much symptom free too and my edd is the day before you. Smile Boobs are bigger, back has a mild ache which I wouldnt notice otherwise tiny bit constipated apart from that nada, nothing, nowt....I kind of want symptoms but I guess I should be careful what I wish for. Blush

Fakebook · 05/03/2013 14:19

Motherofcleo, I agree about being careful what you wish for! Luckily I've had 2 morning sickness free pregnancies and only suffer intense nausea, so hoping this one will be the same. Not weeing as much either yet. I had a few sharp pains this morning which felt like round ligament pains. And now I'm certain I had implantation bleeding over a week ago. Really strange thing, I always read about it but never thought I'd experience it.

I'm also breastfeeding at night, which is something I need to stop! Don't know what I'm going to do about that. May have to make DS go cold turkey soon!

Sterling, hope your nausea dies down. I'm not going to recommend ginger biscuits because they do F all for me!

Theicingontop · 05/03/2013 14:44

Congrats fakebook. DS is also breastfeeding at night, I've read that pregnancy sometimes changes your milk and puts them off, I'm hoping for that...

My brother came over this morning for a cup of tea, used the loo and must have spotted my box of unused pregnancy test strips. He didn't say anything but I realised I'd left them out when I used the loo after him. Crap. Well if he's guessed he's being discreet about it. Won't come as a surprise when I announce the news Grin

GinSling82 · 05/03/2013 14:46

Hey ladies! I was hoping I could join this group. I'm 4 weeks and 5 days into my first pregnancy - so I'm very excited but worrying about all that could go wrong! EDD 7th November.

Already taken a million tests and considering booking a private early scan - pregnancy is making me neurotic!! its been really helpful reading this thred and realising that others are going through the same things!

Fairydogmother · 05/03/2013 14:48

hi there fakebook and congrats!

i dont have many symptoms either - just a bit more tired at times and sore boobs. but def not wishing to to feel sick! i've been using an acupressure band and that seems to ward off any wee nausea feelings

GinSling82 · 05/03/2013 15:17

I'm like you Fairydogmother, just feel very tired and have sore boobs. Had the occasional cramps but these seem to be settling down. I'm starting 3 night shifts tonight and I'm dreading it with this pregnancy tiredness.

Anyone else do nights during pregnancy and have any tips on how to survive?

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHopeful · 05/03/2013 15:42

Hi fakebook and ginsling congrats. Pregnancy makes me neurotic too, dh is fed up of my paranoia that something will go wrong.

mumma I think honey's right say you had a light period. I would lie through my teeth.

Well done to those of you bf in the night while pregnant, you must be shattered.

I've already told my mum and my boss. They both knew I was ttc and with me burping all over them both and nearly throwing up on them it was kind of obvious. Feeling good today though.

Theicingontop · 05/03/2013 15:53

I did 11 hour nightshifts until I was 8 months pregnant, Ginsling. I won't lie, it was absolutely exhausting. By the end of my pregnancy I was drinking two 80mg caffeine energy drinks a night, and that was it for my caffeine limit. I timed them around my usual slumps which were between 2-3am.

Take in lots of snacks and water, keep yourself hydrated. I found that if I ate anything sugary it would make me feel worse later on when I crashed, so I just kept a bag of nuts and fruit on my desk to keep me going all night. And when you get home in the morning, even though you probably won't feel like it, sleep!! Its always tempting to stay up and unwind, but don't, you'll regret it later when you've had less sleep than you should. It's fine when you're not pregnant but I found it impossible to function on less sleep than I should be having.

Fakebook · 05/03/2013 15:55

Theicingontop, funny you should say that. DS hasn't been sucking with full vigour in the past week or so and when he does he just takes a few gulps and then cries. He also isn't drinking and going back to sleep so maybe my milk tastes crap?! Hopefully it does!

Congratulations GinSling, you're allowed to be a little neurotic during pregnancy! Wink.

Fairydog, yes I must admit, I'm feeling more tired towards the end of the day than usual.

I still can't believe I'm pregnant. It doesn't feel very real right now. It's funny because Dd's birthday is in November too, so we're going to have a busy month with two birthdays!

Fairydogmother · 05/03/2013 16:12

I just walked the dogs - not for horse and then I can sit down! Bit headachey at the mo for some reason.

Picked up a sample pot from the Gp as apparently the midwife will want some pee! Lovely!

Theicingontop · 05/03/2013 16:18

Here's hoping for crap-tasting milk Grin

MummaPanda · 05/03/2013 16:32

Yup midwives love the pee, be ready with some everytime u see them!

Fairydogmother · 05/03/2013 16:41

What else happens at your first appt? Or do different areas have varying rules?

Fakebook · 05/03/2013 17:08

Fairydog, at first midwife appointments they normally just ask about your medical history and fill out the first section of your blue maternity notes. It takes ages and is really boring. Then they take your blood! Oh and they normally weigh you too. Where I live they only see you at 10 weeks and not before.

MummaPanda · 05/03/2013 17:10

Depends if its home visit or at a clinic. But thers lots of filling in forms about family history, medical history, etc. U get ur first bounty pack with ur notes in it tha u take to every appointment. Possible blood test n they may weigh u or atleast ask how much u weigh. Stuff like that Smile

MTB82 · 05/03/2013 17:20

Is anyone else finding it a bit boring? I was so excited and now just finding it frustrating not being able to tell anyone and not hearing from midwife as to when I have appointment- I really just want something to happen so it feels more real !!! Fingers crossed will get my letter through from midwife soon. Lol maybe this is one of my mood swings!!!

SterlingS · 05/03/2013 17:34

I hear you MTB82 - I just want to get the appointments done and get to the scan, ideally if I could hibernate until then that would be ace.

Wibblypiglikesbananas · 05/03/2013 17:58

Thank you mummapanda for your lifting advice yesterday, will try to!

Re telling people - we will hold off until the 12 week scan. So, there's just DH and one close friend here who knows, and that was because I felt really ill when we were out one day last week and I'm a rubbish liar so I told her. As we're overseas, it's quite easy to keep it a secret from family etc.

Have got my first Dr's appt tomorrow, and received a huge form in the post to complete yesterday, similar to the UK green notes. Being the US, they expect you to go for an epidural straight away and there's a section for previous births etc which includes anaesthesia used. I had to put 'none' for DD - no doubt that will raise eyebrows!

Dreams, not weird crazy sex ones but just loads of wacky ones, quite entertaining at times!

MrsTwinks · 05/03/2013 17:58

Can I stick a foot in? I'm 4+5, edd nov 8th and very nervous, had a mc at 7+4 last year (with accompanying awful a&e visit) & totally petrified this tiny human wont stick either. Its taken since Sunday for it to sink in we managed to catch this time.

DH knows but no one else not even gp yet as I'm totally dr phobic after a&e experience. Anyone else?

Also anyone else with sickness random not morning times? Always in bed and always about 3/4pm.
