Congratulations on all the good scan results today. Another set of twins already. Wonder if there are any more to come?!?

Had a rubbish day today, had a v hard couple of days at work & ended up bursting into tears today. Ended up telling 3 very good friends at work & even that has helped take the pressure off immensely & feeling much more positive now. Physical symptoms have also kicked in with a vengeance this week so very pleased its the weekend.

For those of you feeling rubbish, spotting, worrying and generally anxious I'm thinking positive thoughts for you all and don't forget we are all here ready to listen, advise & sympathise.

Soupqueen · 22/02/2013 19:10

Great news, delilah and falcon

roxvox, I feel the same, my scan is scheduled for 12+5 and am wondering whether to get an earlier private scan. I'm not overly uncomfortable with extra, non medically required, scans but it is such a long time to wait, not knowing if there is a heartbeat or not. The stats mainly freaked me out - my age and DH's age seem to increase our risk massively.

roofio87 · 22/02/2013 19:13

roxvox I'm the same as you, won't get a scan until the 12 week mark. the way I see it,there us no point to having one earlier, I have no reason to be concerned and think that anything is wrong. I'm doing everything right so chances are the bean is fine. missed miscarriages.get talked about a lot on here but are really rare. there is nothing else I would do differently if I saw a heatbeat etc so I'm just waiting patiently and letting everything run its course the way it is meant to be. think about what you could buy for your baby with that scan money!!

MrsExcited · 22/02/2013 19:16

I have considered an early scan, the cost is not to great (£100) for the peace of mind

I have to wait till i am 8 weeks to book my scan, but we are also going on holiday for a week when i hit 12 weeks (bang on 12th week) I have decided if next week when i ring up if i can't get a scan in the week before we go away i will go private (the results are transferred to the NHS so i will actually save then an appointment) But it won't be an extra, it will be an instaed of at 11+(2-5)

Though the temptation to go earlier is huge!!

roxvox · 22/02/2013 19:18

I feel the same soupqueen in that I am not keen on the idea of a scan that's not specifically recommended by the midwife. She's coming round next weekend so maybe I will just ask her for her opinion on it all?

Whilst I am 26, my DH is older (late 30's) and that was the first time I'd read about the chance of MC increasing with his age so it has given me the fear too.

Do you have many symptoms of pregnancy soupqueen or is part of your concern the lack of symptoms (like me)?

Natalieand · 22/02/2013 19:18

delilah meant to ask, identical or non identical? Xx

OrangeBlossom2 · 22/02/2013 19:19

Hello again everyone. We went away to the middle of nowhere for half term (it was meant to be a "conception moon" but things happened even quicker than we hoped!) so I have not had Internet access. That was probably a good thing as I am spending far too much time looking up all things baby. Just read through the posts I have missed, congratulations to those having twins and I am really sorry to hear some of you have had bad news.

I am now 5+2 and in terms of symptoms my boobs have been really sore, especially the sides, and have grown from a 30b to a 30d already. Will they ever stop?! I am still bloated and exhausted all the time. I had a bit of queasiness today but that might have just been the long drive back to London, no actual ms yet. Is it a bit weird that I am hoping to feel a little bit more sick so that I know things are working in there? (sorry those who are suffering!) My lovely DH has downloaded a book about pregnancy for dads on his kindle and it has obviously told him to look after me as he is busy making me dinner while I flop.

I am looking forward to my first doctors appointment tomorrow, although from what the rest of you have said I am expecting it to be a bit underwhelming.

Sorry for the long post!

roxvox · 22/02/2013 19:21

Thanks roofio and mrsexcited sorry for the cross post.

I think you're right roofio about not having any reason to be concerned, but I hate the idea of waiting that long only to find out that it was all for nothing!

mrsexcited we are going away during week 12 too so if I can't get a scan on the NHS prior to going I will be looking to get one privately anyway as (all being well) we intend to tell families that weekend.

Soupqueen · 22/02/2013 19:23

I don't have many symptoms. My boobs feel "heavy", I'm tired (but then I often am anyway) and have felt queasy quite a lot - again though, I'm not sure if I'm imagining it!

I have had cramping since before I tested positive but not sure whether that is something to worry about in the absence of spotting?

I'm going to be a nervous wreck by scan time (if I make it that far!)

delilahbelle · 22/02/2013 19:23

Non-identical natalie I had IVF and two embryos transferred - I can't believe they both took. It's early days though... it's going to be a long 6 weeks until my next scan.

roofio87 · 22/02/2013 19:27

I've just been talking to my friends mum who is a fertility and pregnancy nurse, she said that missed miscarriages happen in about 1% of pregnancies. so if there are 55 of us on this thread we have a good chance that it won't happen to any of us!! I know that doesn't mean that it definitely won't and statistics aren't water tight, just thought it was some good perspective!!Smile

JellyCurls · 22/02/2013 19:56

Oh my word what a busy day. Congrats on scans ladies, welcome to new girlies and whoever started bleeding before a car journey I hope you are ok (sorry cant remember who it was).

I have a tender spot at top of my pelvis that my jeans and pants were pressing on today. Couldn't really sit naked in work so just had to put up with it. Jammies on now so jellycurls is a bit comfier

candr · 22/02/2013 20:02

Big congrats Delilah, that is brill news and to others who are doing well. I seem to match many posts on here of symptoms going as was sick with sore boobs and abdominal twinges but all gone today. Cant remember if this happened with DS. Annoyingly DH told his work mates even though I am only just over 4 weeks I think - feels like more pressure but he is so excited which I am lucky to have. He is away a lot at the mo so not sure if tiredness is symptom or due to energetic 17m old. Cant believe I have at least 8 weeks to wait for scan - feels like an eternity! Sending positive vibes out to the bus Grin

JethroTull · 22/02/2013 20:16

Hello. I've been lurking since the start of the last thread. I'm 7 + 5 with a much longed for IVF result Grin.

I've been too scared to post up to now but reading Roofio's post has made me relax a little. We've got our early scan on Monday. I'm terrified there won't be anything there.

Reading this thread everyday makes me feel a bit better so thanks.

Crookie1 · 22/02/2013 20:34

Such wonderful news Delilah! Grin

I was wondering if anyone has been getting very bad cramping? Mine is mild mostly but been having the odd terrible 5 mins here and there. Just had one that felt like previous mc :( but I have no spotting so assuming all is well?
I'm 4+2 thanks

KoalaFace · 22/02/2013 20:34

Thanks for adding me Roxvox Grin

It never even occurred to me to get a private early scan. I didn't last time I was pregnant, I just assumed the midwives knew what they were doing and 12 and 20 week scans would be enough.

I'm wondering now though whether I should be making sure everything is okay. If there is no reason to believe otherwise I would have thought you could be confident in the pregnancy. Am I wrong? Oh dear, what I'd do for a little window into the womb!

KoalaFace · 22/02/2013 20:38

Hi Jethro and congrats Grin

Crookie I had bad cramps when pregnant with DS and it was nothing but normal uterus growth! Keep an eye on it but don't get stressed. Your tummy is very busy in there and is bound to be crampy.

chickieno1 · 22/02/2013 20:39

Hi everyone!
Can I join too? I POAS yesterday but knew it was going to be positive. I am telling my husband tonight (he was working last night) so that will make it all real! I am happy but in shock as wasn't really expecting it right now! We've just moved country and are settling in and I'm job hunting as well....... I know everything works out in the end but I am a liitle stressed and feel a little guilty for feeling this way!
Congrats to delilah and natalie re twins and to everyone who had good news with scans!
Thinking of MrsAF, sending positive vibes.

chickieno1 · 22/02/2013 20:40

Forgot to add, I'm 37 and have a ds almost 2.5yrs

I think my EDD 17th of october

I haven't registered with a GP yet so will be doing that on monday!!!!!

ChocoFrog · 22/02/2013 20:42

Evening everyone.

Great news on the scans today especially to you Delilah on twins. FX for everyone else with their worries.

Still no symptoms here but not too worried.Told my friend today as she is also expecting but is 15 weeks, so a bit ahead of all us. She's felt rough for weeks but it only kicked in at 8 weeks, so still some time to feel rubbish!

Feeling shattered today but is that just chasing a 3 year old...

Crookie1 · 22/02/2013 20:47

Thanks Koala, that does help x

LeenHS · 22/02/2013 20:49

Hello.... Bleeding this morning followed by 7 week scan... Sadly not good news. Very slow heartbeat and its too small. Told to wait for miscarriage. Very sad because it was so wanted for nine months of trying. Masses of luck and love to the rest of you. Xxxx

KoalaFace · 22/02/2013 20:52

I'm so sorry to hear that LeenHS

I'm thinking about you and sending masses of love back.

delilahbelle · 22/02/2013 20:58

So sorry LeenHS it really sucks. Thinking of you.

Crookie1 · 22/02/2013 20:58

So sorry LeenHS, you must be devastated, lots of love back.
