Hi all, just checking in on new thread, you guys have been busy! Had family staying last week so not been online, but have just had a minor thread catch up session!

20 week scan was fine, pictures rubbish tho and its our trust policy not to tell you the sex so we're going to get a private gender scan in a couple of weeks (i've got to know, ha ha!). due date changed back to 8th July, so I'll update the list when I'm on laptop.

Can anyone else not stop eating? I am majorly craving carbs. I feel so blobby at the minute, 'bump' is quite pronounced but still mostly fat I think!

mightbemad I had anterior placenta with ds & didn't really feel movement til 24 weeks ish. All through pregnancy movement felt v muffled too - and he was a wriggler! This time I have only felt occasional movements but it is MUCH stronger than last time.

ellie that must have been a shock at the scan, but sounds like the drs are on the ball & all can be sorted quite quickly. Glad you are getting lots of support. Thanks

photographer glad the move went ok & hope the commuting continues to be not too bad too :)

Welcome newbies and a big wave for everyone else!

emblosion · 18/02/2013 23:53

Oh and 20+5 today!

emblosion · 18/02/2013 23:57

PPS (!) Can't remember who was asking about pushchairs, but my friend has a bugaboo chameleon and its gorgeous!

We've pretty much decided on the Out n About 360 double, I need to measure my car boot tho and check it will fit, (I have an ancient Clio)...

notprincesskate · 19/02/2013 08:40

ellie pleased to hear the NHS are sorting you quickly and providing the advice and support you need.
20 week scan for me too yesterday, all looks good (despite her commenting on the sheet, views were reduced due to high BMI blush) hmmm I'm lighter by quite a bit than I was last time AND my BMI was just acceptable on booking, still must try to cut down on all things sweet. I have got a low lying placenta so they booked me for another scan at 32 weeks to check, the decision re vbac or elcs may still be taken out of my hands, which actually I wouldn't mind at all.
20+2

Hai1988 · 19/02/2013 09:49

Hi all hope were all okay :)

19+4 now got my 20 wk scan exactly a week today :)

Feeling jellybean moving alot more now last night was the most active so far.

MightBeMad · 19/02/2013 10:14

Morning all. Thank you for reassuring thoughts on movement and anterior placentas. DH suggested last night that we get another private scan to reassure me but I think I'm just going to try and hold out for my NHS scan given it's unlikely to make any difference to the outcome and is just more money. 'Only' 13 days to go! Fingers crossed I'm just being neurotic!

Dinky, I seem to have escapoed your bug thank goodness, so I guess it must have just been the walk/late lunch. I'll try and be more careful now to keep to regular mealtimes as clearly this baby dooes not like being messed with on that score! I do feel like I'm constantly eating though and I'm going to be a whale by the end. I'm more bothered this time around as I know how hard I had to work to shift the baby weight last time...

Ellie, sorry to hear you had such a shock at the scan but it sounds as if your hospital team are really on the ball, which is great news. The repairs they do are absolutely phenomenal now so a few months on from the op I imagine there will be very little evidence that there was ever anything done! Did you find out if the bean is pink or blue??

Congrats to all others on good scans.

Good luck for the rescan vinegar and anyone else being scanned today x

BadMissM · 19/02/2013 10:42

Yep, I've been worrying a bit about not much movement (DD was a wiggly baby), but midwife did say I have an anterior placenta as well.

Ellie sounds like they have everything well in hand xxx

I have anomaly scan on 06 March now, they brought it forward two days to see me in clinic at the same time.... seems forever when you are waiting! Would really like to know the sex, but don't know if our trust let you!

BadMissM · 19/02/2013 10:43

Oh yes... forgot... 18+1 today!

Persuasion · 19/02/2013 11:20

ellie that must have been a shock, I guess we never expect it to happen to us, but it sounds like you're being well looked after which is the most important thing.

vinegar good luck for your rescan tomorrow, and I hope you get some rest in before then.

Congratulations to those with good scans. I had mine this morning, all looks good, and baby was quite wiggly! We're having a girl, and I've already been on mamas and papas looking at the cute baby dresses (although my good ness the prices, I think we'll have to hope for presents!). They couldn't get the doppler fully, so I have to go back to have that redone in 2 weeks, but hopefully all is fine.

Cutandstick · 19/02/2013 12:31

Just read Hillary Mantel's criticism of duchess Kate on the news - that's all you need when you're pregnant and hormonal, someone bad mouthing you - never mind in the press!

Hai1988 · 19/02/2013 13:41

ooo hearing you all talk about your scans is getting me excited although am a tad nervous incase something wrong is picked up.

Congratz on finding out about your lil girl persuasion

Thinkingof4 · 19/02/2013 14:11

Ellie hope you are feeling ok re scan, I'm sure it was a real shock to hear. I know a wee girl born with cleft lip and palate recently and she's doing really well x

cut I know, what's that all about! I don't understand why people think it's ok to pick on her, especially when she's pregnant!

Good to hear about all the good scans, and good luck to anyone who has theirs this week
Another warm sunny day here (well not that warm but at least it's not icy!), will hopefully take boys to park after school/ nursery pick ups to let them blow off some steam

Gingerpanther27 · 19/02/2013 14:42

Is it normal for midwives to ask you to come in for checks ASAP? Confused really worried now....

MightBeMad · 19/02/2013 14:59

Ginger I had one of those and it as just because some protein had showed up in my urine tests and they wanted to do a repeat test and check my blood pressure. All was absolutely fine, nothing to worry about at all. Yours could easily be something equally innocuous. Try not to worry. when are you seeing her?

VinegarDrinker · 19/02/2013 16:20

Just had scan - all well and it's a girl :)

Devilforasideboard · 19/02/2013 16:26

Aaaw congratulations Vinegar! And everybody else with the scans, we are coming along Smile

Gingerpanther27 · 19/02/2013 16:28

All was fine they just wanted to see me as they'd forgotten to reschedule my appointment that and I have white blood cells in my pee....so very relieved emoticon, congrats on the pink bump vinegar

dinkystinky · 19/02/2013 16:37

Hello all - congrats on recent scans (and girls on the way!) And glad all is OK Ginger.

flyingsprocket · 19/02/2013 16:40

Congrats on the girls persuasion & vineager my scan seems so far away!!

Ellie glad to hear you're being well looked after

17 weeks today

dinkystinky · 19/02/2013 16:45

Notprincesskate my friend had a note on her notes that sonographer couldn't see anything due to maternal adiposity - she asked her doctor dh what it meant and he told her it was a fat tummy! Charming...

OP posts:
MightBeMad · 19/02/2013 17:01

Yey on the good scans!!

Princess and dinky Grin I'm sure they don't mean any offence. Much like my grandmother's: "gosh, you've filled out in your face' comment to me at 37 weeks last time around. Just what a pg hormonal woman wanted to hear! HmmGrin

Calmisthemantra · 19/02/2013 17:55

hai we're scan date buddiesGrin

Hai1988 · 19/02/2013 18:02

Yey calm what time is urs? Mines at 2.00pm wud rather a morning one as i know the days gonna drag being in the afternoon.

When you due?

specialknickers · 19/02/2013 18:07

Marking my place... Just come back from the scan and all is well, thankfully. Held my breath through most of it I think and didn't look much but the sonographer was delighted (she was having a bad day and i was her last scanee) and so am I. We didn't want to know the sex but I'm thinking boy now, for some reason.

Something strange though: we got a really good look at the babies face and he looked sooooo different to ds it was amazing. He / she is going to be a brand new person, that blows my mind!

Persuasion · 19/02/2013 18:15

vinegar congratulations! I'm not sure hwy I thought it was tomorrow when you clearly said today Confused

ginger I'm glad all is ok, it's a bit off of them to worry you like that though.

I also saw the DoC stuff on the news, think there must be a degree of envy in there driving it? It's Kate's job to look/be perfect for goodness sake, and there's really no way of knowing what she's like as a person. I think the way the media is really makes some people feel like they 'own' celebrities, and forget they are people underneath like the rest of us.

Ok, rant over...
