Hi it's Catch here, you've all reminded me about the whooping cough jab, I had forgotten all about it. I'll say to my midwife today.

I'm glad to hear Alice is doing so well Smile.

Good luck seven's dh!

ng1412 · 08/04/2013 18:18

Been to the Swiss hospital today as transferred care from France. It appears I am a week behind what I was initially told by my French gyne, how very depressing! So I am 33+1 and not 34+1. Gutted!

Anyway C section booked in for 15 May. 5 weeks and counting!

maybe so glad to hear how Alice is progressing.

Boodstress · 09/04/2013 09:16

Hi all,
Another week of Easter hols for my boys ... Started off wonderfully yesterday with diarrhoea all day and griping pains into the night. I'm still griping a bit now. I hadn't eaten anything since Sunday lunch as I felt full & couldn't face it so I don't think it's anything I ate. I was so drained and falling asleep on the sofa so had to get my DH home, which he will do but will stress about later so it's not ideal. My DH kept worrying the griping pain shrieks were labour calls Grin think its given him a bit of a kick up the arse..and me...I need to actually pack a bag. I have everything but I need to get a bit organised. Getting section date on Wednesday, feels very strange and exciting ...36&4

DXBMermaid · 09/04/2013 09:49

ng that must really be disappointing to find out you are a week behind. Won't make that much of a difference as your having a section, right?

Do you think the care is better in Switzerland then in France?

Bood hope you are feeling much better again.

I am getting organised, but slowly. My SPD seriously prevents me from doing a lot in one go. Need to pack bag, write birth plan and rearrange spare room. Ideally I'd also like to clear out all of kitchen cabinets, but might have to get someone to give me hand with that as I can't bend down properly.

Visiting a friend today who had an early section due to high blood pressure. So excited to meet her little one :)

Ellypoo · 09/04/2013 10:31

So glad to hear Alice is still doing well maybe, I hope her wind settles down xx

Well, just 1 more sleep for me - had last MW appt yesterday, bp was high so she had to recheck it 5 times and mde me lie down before she was happy!!

Ng that's rubbish - how come your dates have changed? I thought that they didn't change them after 12 wks because babies grow at diff rates then.

Will of course let you know how we get on after xxx

TigerSwallowtail · 09/04/2013 10:46

ng the same thing happened to me, I changed hospitals at the start of my pregnancy around 12wks, the first hospital put my due date at 22nd and the next hospital put my due date a week later at the 29th. The first date matches up with my own dates though and DS was tiny when he was born too so I think I'll probably go closer to the 22nd than the 29th.

I'm not sure if I'm just being hormonal and over protective, could anyone offer any advice? DP has relatives from Swansea who will be coming to visit the baby when she arrives. I'm worried about the measles issue as obviously she won't be vaccinated, what do you all think, overcautious or is it reasonable to be concerned?

BeauticianNotMagician · 09/04/2013 10:52

Wirra Your Wedding sounds amazing. We have ours booked for August next year.Have organised most of it now its mainly the dress left as obviously I can't try any on.

Rachy I know how you feel about the driving.I had a mock test the other day and failed miserably. Keep it up it will be worth it when we can get out and about with our newborns. When's your test?

Maybe Great to hear about you and Alice. What was the outcome of the weigh in? I know it seems like a long process but you will eventually have her home. Hugs.

Bood SadHope you feel better soon. Its awful being ill when pregnant but with not eating and such a bad bug you must be drained.Hope you get some rest.

Elly Good luck for tomorrow.I hope you don't have to wait too long to be seen.

I have terrible heartburn. I couldn't sleep with it last night. It just seems to have come on all of a sudden as I haven't suffered too bad this time. Strange as I have a low bump.I always tend to carry low well for boys. I have a midwife appt tomorrow. We are moving Sunday so its all go here at the moment.

34+5

BeauticianNotMagician · 09/04/2013 10:56

Ng Sorry forgot to say is rubbish that your dates have changed. My dates were given as due 10th May from gp then at 12 week scan I was given the 16 th May. I'm sure 10th is my due date. I don't mind when baby arrives. I don't look forward to going over as first two were born a day either side of due date. I just don't want him to arrive on ds2 birthday (May 13th).

Sorry to anyone else Ive forgotten

SevenReasonsToSmile · 09/04/2013 11:07

tiger no idea about the measles but I think it's perfectly acceptable for you to be concerned. Maybe ask what your MW thinks? I would try to find out how it's spread, whether they would need to have measles or just come into contact with the measles bacteria to be able to pass it on, and then base a decision on that tbh.

elly best of luck for tomorrow, very jealous of you being 36 weeks and getting to meet your LO already!

beaut hope the move goes well, have you done much packing yet?

Asda have a baby event starting on the 22nd if anyone wants to stock up on nappies and wipes. They also have a highchair for £27!

BeauticianNotMagician · 09/04/2013 11:14

Seven Thanks. I'm getting there slowly but surely packing wise. Good to know about the Asda event I'm going to make sure I stock up as will be all moved in by then

SevenReasonsToSmile · 09/04/2013 11:36

We always stock up when they're cheap. They've got 12 packs of pampers wipes for £10, I've never paid more than £1 per packet. Surely no one actually pays over £3 a packet when they're not on offer?!

It's so strange listening to you all talking about pregnancy! When I arrived at the hospital this morning there was a poor woman having contractions in the carpark. I'm not sure if I'm glad or sad I missed out this time.

ng I've heard of dates changing at 12 week scan, but not this late on. Did they explain why?

I'd be concerned about Swansea visitors too. Have you had measles (who was it? Sorry.) if you have and your breastfeeding, baby should be passively immunised. But please check.

Alice is now 2lbs 11 (so frustratingly slow). We were trained how to tube feed this morning, but I'm hoping we won't need it. She had a full bottle feed last night! I couldn't believe it when DH said. He had no idea what a major break through it was. She's only had one bottle before, and took a couple of mls. If she was bigger we'd be talking home very soon. The nurses were giving him a hard time over giving her my milk via a bottle and me breastfeeding. But I don't care. I just want her home. Besides, I did the same with dd1 (bottle for weeks before she took to the breast) and we did fine.
Wonder if Seb's getting close?

Good luck for tomorrow Elly. You'll be fine, and can't wait to hear about it! And your baby!

lollypopsicle · 09/04/2013 11:58

Just checking in to wish elly luck tomorrow. You must be running through the whole spectrum of human emotions after what you've been through previously. I'll be looking forward to hearing the good news of the next may thread arrival Smile

Boodstress · 09/04/2013 12:40

good luck Elly. Hopefully I'll be just a couple of weeks ahead of you. You must be beyond excited. X

ng1412 · 09/04/2013 12:54

I just typed a long explanation on my due date changes and my DD got hold of the ipad and wiped it!!

Anyway, the reason is that the gyne in France gave me a due date of 26 May but they work to a 41week gestation, so I have always worked on it being due a week earler, ie 19 May.

However the Swiss gyne yesterday said that the scan photo I have from 12 weeks shows the measurements do in fact correspond with 26 May working on a 40 week gestation. I tried to explain that my French gyne had specifially advised me throughout that it was 26 May on a 41 week basis but she was having none of it so I have been put back a week.

Funny thing is that baby's approx weight has always been in line with the week I initially thought it was so baby may be a little bigger than average and my DD was below average.

Oh well, nothing I can do now...

Elly best of luck for tomorrow, very exciting for you!

scooby26 · 09/04/2013 13:50

Hi ladies!

Elly- best of luck for tomorrow!

Sorry for the short and infrequent posts... Despite finally moving early feb we still do not have the Internet connected..... Hmmm ... Thanks Mr Openreach!

Saw my GP yesterday who very keenly wrote a sick note for 2 weeks which takes me up til my leave starts 23rd April so no more work for me and these achy old hips ;-)

Good luck to all those mad enough to be planning house moves at this late stage.. I thought was hard enough two mths ago!

So... Nursery pretty much ready, enough baby clothes washed if he/she were to arrive....so I'm gonna ignore the fact I haven't packed a bag yet and watch tv while DS at grandparents for couple of hours.. Figure in theory I have anthother 6 weeks yet.... 33w 4d. Though still convinced/hope it'll be couple weeks early......pleeeeese! ;-)

aberjen · 09/04/2013 17:45

Just popping on quickly to say good luck elly! Will be thinking of you tomorrow

BeauticianNotMagician · 09/04/2013 18:28

Anyone with a super itchy bump. I've never suffered with it before. I'm applying my sanctuary oil about 3 times a day

Boodstress · 09/04/2013 18:44

I've had it in the past Beaut .. I stretched right out massively in front the last two pregnancies and I think the itching was the actual stretching. I'm using that sanctuary oil too, it lovely. I'm also using my husbands emollient in the bath which is great.

roastpotatoes · 09/04/2013 18:58

Good luck tomorrow elly - hope it goes really well. How exciting that you will meet your baby so soon.

Came home from work at lunchtime as I was so tired and spent the afternoon in bed. It's going to be a long 2.5 weeks until mat leave, I fear...

MammaBrussels · 09/04/2013 19:00

Good luck for tomorrow Elly. Hope it all goes well and that you're well looked after by the hospital. Enjoy the fruits of the last 9 months toil!

TigerSwallowtail · 09/04/2013 19:06

I've never had measles before maybe (you'll need to change your nn now to definitelyAnAprilBaby :o), but will be formula feeding this time too. I spoke to DP about it and he's on the same page as me too luckily, I'll speak to my midwife about it then when I see her next to see what she says about it.

What bags will you all be bringing in? I've been wracking my brain but can't remember what I used last time, but was thinking about maybe this; www.argos.co.uk/m/static/Product/partNumber/2869964/c_1/1|category_root|Sports+and+leisure|33006346/c_2/2|33006346|Bags%2C+luggage+and+travel|33008228/c_3/3|cat_33008228|Suitcases|33009213.htm with the small bag for my labour stuff and big one for baby and my stuff if we need to stay in. Is this too much or are you all bringing in suitcase type bags too?

Boodstress · 09/04/2013 19:24

I know im having a section so ill bring a weekender and a smaller bag just for ease of access to the stuff I need straight away. The first time I had a huge bag with all sorts of optimistic things like tens machines etc. Grin

shelly81 · 09/04/2013 20:23

all the best for tomorrow ellie Grin xx

cuppateaandagingersnap · 09/04/2013 22:19

Good luck for tomorrow elly Grin can't wait to hear all about your new baby, hope the wait tomorrow is bearable, xx
