Quite envious of the scans - I'd love another peek. Someone said they didn't post too often cause they didn't want to be always moaning - I should take a leaf out of their books. Sorry!! All I do is moan at the moment. Sinus problems/ conjestion is now full blown sinusitis and they will give me nothing but a nasel wash vomitty thing ( not good when you have no gag reflex) dragging my self out to do the school run now ... Hate this flippin trimester.

BeauticianNotMagician · 05/03/2013 16:29

Bood Dont be silly.Im the same I even drive myself mad with the moaning.I have so many aches and pains and I'm constantly out of breath.Cant believe I still have 10 weeks left.I wasn't like this with the first two all I can think is that's its because I'm older this time around and I walk more

MammaBrussels · 05/03/2013 17:43

Just catching up. Glad things looked OK on your scan Maybe, hope everyone else is OK not too achy & tired. Good luck with your driving test Beaut, have you told them you're PG? Hope they take that into account when deciding the route. You wouldn't want to have to go over loads of cobbles and bumps at 37 weeks!

I've just realised I've forgotten to go for my GTT, have Dr tomorrow so think I'll get a ticking off. Is 30 weeks too late? I'll have to go on Thursday.

TerracottaPie · 05/03/2013 18:03

bood I said about not always posting because I would feel i was moaning constantly. Don't take a leaf out of my book at all! I've been holding it all in and ended up having a big emotional meltdown in the supermarket last week. Then sat in the car sobbing whilst waiting for DP and his dad to finish shopping. Not good :( Please moan as much as you need to!

roast thank you for that. You made me smile with those words :)

Oops mamma about your GTT. I don't think 30 weeks should be too late. I never went to mine either. Although I did cancel mine first Grin.

31 weeks today. Thank god. Being on single figures for the number of weeks left feels good.

MammaBrussels · 05/03/2013 20:40

I didn't have an appointment Terra, they just expect you to turn up when you can make it. Smile

SeaSalt1 · 05/03/2013 23:43

Hello everyone, just thought I'd check in for a quick catch up, lovely to hear all your news and sorry to hear so many of you are uncomfortable. I'm doing a bit better these days - physio seems to have helped my back and I'm eating a lot better than before. Overall I've still only put on about 2 or 3 pounds, but I lost so much in the first trimester that it sounds much worse than it is.

My other news is that I'm flying home tomorrow night. I know quite a few of you are abroad and would love to be going home so I won't bang on about it (promise) but just wanted to mention it - six months of pregnancy on the other side of the world has been pretty challenging (it's hard to set up any sort of meaningful support network in such a short time) and I can't wait to get back and see my family. DH flew back about 10 days ago so I'm missing him and the time change has made it tricky to talk much.

So, it's time for some third trimester long-haul flying, have any of you got any experience of this? Fifteen or so hours in a plane wouldn't be my preferred activity at this point but I'm going to have to do it. Any tips would be great.

WestieMamma · 06/03/2013 08:58

I had a bath yesterday instead of a shower to try and ease a few aches and pains. I haven't had a bath in years. Ever since I've had discomfort in my ear, especially when swallowing, burping or yawning. Anyone know what it may be and how to get rid?

Catchingmockingbirds · 06/03/2013 09:39

I've the same thing with my ears, have had it for about 2 months now. I assumed it was pregnancy related somehow.

Is Kitty still here?

Wirrawoo · 06/03/2013 10:03

Hi seasalt so happy for you coming home :) the tips I've been given were mostly: wear flight socks to help stop your feet and ankles swelling too much, keep walking around the cabin and massaging your legs to keep circulation going, drink lots of water, do all you can to score an upgrade! Happy flying, hope there's good movies, have done that singapore to london flight sooo many times, hope it will be nice and empty for you so you can stretch out. Ooh and on that note, make sure you have a nice squishy pillow to help you get comfortable :)

ng1412 · 06/03/2013 10:32

Wow seasalt very jealous of you coming home. Hope the trip is ok, I have done that journey a few times and at least you have a nice load of leg room and nice (ish) food! And just think what awaits you when you arrive, wonderful!

Maybe hope everything is ok, thinking of you x

I had a scan yesterday, all fine. Baby has a big head apparently, but the gyne was not bothered, said it was better to be big, not sure what that means...anyway baby is still breach so that explains why I am feeling so breathless and my lungs feel like they are being crushed all the time. Also have a lot of fluid which apparently explains the weight gain that I have suddenly had since second trimester.

Transfer my care in 5 weeks to Switzerland and then hopefully the C Section in 8 or 9 weeks. Can't wait now!

Bood I am whinging and moaning all the time about different ailments. This week it is backache, last week it was heartburn. Can't wait to see what next week's ailment could be. DH just ignores me now....

SevenReasonsToSmile · 06/03/2013 12:30

maybe hope you're ok, we'll all be thinking of you tomorrow.

seasalt it doesn't seem 5 minutes since you were saying how many weeks you had left there. Hope the flight isn't too uncomfortable.

ng glad the scan went ok. At least you don't need to worry about the baby being breach if you're having a CS.

I can't remember who wanted me to let them know how we got on with starting reusable nappies but its going great. We're now on our 3rd day of using them and no leaks so far, haven't tried them at night yet though. The ones we're using are Mother-ease one size with tots bots flexi-wraps. I'll definitely be using them for DD2 as well, they're suitable from 8lbs though DS and DD were both prem so we'll probably just use disposables until she's big enough rather than pay an extra £200 for enough small ones.

The nursery is almost painted, its lavender and looks really pretty. we just need to find a carpet then DH can build the furniture. There's still an old wardrobe in there which the charity shop are collecting next week so we're at a bit of a standstill until then. I want to find some vintage style wallpaper to make some fancy unique artwork for the wall in there not that I have time.

Hope everyone else is doing ok.

Hello, Is anyone taking any iron supplements? Just seen the Dr who said that my Hb levels are at the low end of the normal range (about 10.5) and so I was thinking about starting to take Floradix. As far as I can tell this is a plant based iron supplement and less likely to give you nasty side effects (constipation). Has anyone used this or anything else before? I would really like to feel less tired and am hoping this might help!

Seasalt, so so great that you are homeward bound. Finally! I do hope that the flight goes well.

Maybe - good luck for tomorrow. I do hope that everything goes well and that you quickly get some clarity about where you are going to be. Thanks

aberjen · 06/03/2013 13:11

maybe fingers crossed for you Thanks

roast Have been taking floradix on top of pregnacare at recommendation of midwife for about 12 weeks now (she suggested it wven though iron was already in normal range). Have been getting on fine with it, although you're meant to take twice a day and I always forget to take it in the morning. Fingers crossed a little extra iron sorts your tiredness Smile

seven how exciting about your nursery! Must be so nice seeing it all come together

seasalt hope your journey home is suitably uneventful - wow, seems like time is really flying now, can't believe your time in Singapore is nearly finished!

bood so sorry you're poorly Sad I've found it extra specially miserable being ill when pg. Def think MN should be considered a safe haven for all of us to vent when we need to!

Struggling today. Wake up during the night every night and taking an hour or so to get back to sleep is really starting to take its toll. No motivation whatsoever at work but v long list of things to do. Oh well, 7 weeks until mat leave!

MooLL · 06/03/2013 16:04

Hi all - just back from growth scan - and frankly feel for the first time Ive been given an A+ for my baby making skills! Growth in all areas is totally average so all good there ... bloods normal ... proteins normal ... even for the first time this pregnancy bp normal!!! ... consultant took it rather than midwife .. even with white coat syndrome it was 120/80 woohoo .. consultant observed Im obviously in a zen place at the moment!! (usually around 160/90 in hospital environments!) .. so looks like absoluately no sign of pre-eclampsia woohoo ... scan also showed my fibroid is totally covering my cervix so just as well Im booked up for an ELCS as couldnt give birth naturally anyhow ... celebrated by buying lots of lovely sleep bundlers and pretty muslins for mini no-name ....

beaver33 · 06/03/2013 17:20

Beaut admire your confidence at doing a driving theory test at 37 weeks! I can't imagine being able to leave the house at that stage (I exaggerate) given how big I will be and how many biscuits I'm planning to consume on the sofa while starting The West Wing from the beginning....can't wait to be on mat leave...

SeaSalt so pleased for you that you're almost home. Well done for surviving through this and hope you'll come back to a very warm welcome and lots of support from friends and family. Yay!

My house sale STILL HASN'T GONE THROUGH. This is worrying me greatly. I will be officially homeless on 17 March - next weekend. At more than 7 months pregnant. With all our things in storage. Had a minor meltdown about this earlier and cried down the phone on DH. Please tell me everything will be okay...

30+2

beaver33 · 06/03/2013 17:21

MooLL very glad to hear it - well done you! Thanks

lollypopsicle · 06/03/2013 17:54

roast mw recommended Spatone which is essentially sachets of water naturally high in iron. it explicitly says suitable for pg on the box. I have the apple flavoured 1 as it has vit C too to help the iron absorption. I got it from tesco in the vitamin section.

Rhienne · 06/03/2013 18:43

Hi Beaver. Totally understandable if you're stressed! Really hope it all falls into place in time! Come here and moan if you need to.

Have some Brew and hang in there!

shelly81 · 06/03/2013 19:09

Awww beaver (((((hugs))))) xxxx

berri · 06/03/2013 19:34

Not feeling great today - I've just posted on the Pregnancy board if anyone fancies popping over to have a look and any advice welcome! Don't want to moan as everything is fine baby-wise.

I'm 32 weeks tomorrow so have officially beaten DS's arrival date now!

Should be feeling great but actually feel terrible. I don't think I can say it anywhere other than here but I don't think I'm ready for another baby and I feel like I can't tell anyone and it's too late now. Having a real wobble.

Boodstress · 06/03/2013 20:26

Great news Mooll now you can enjoy the rest of the pregnancy.

beaver so sorry you're stressed, we had some big worries up until recently and it was so overwhelming with the pregnancy as well but things get sorted. have you got a half way house ..parents? Short term rental? I know it's not ideal but life has a funny way of working out and as long as you can rest and mentally prepare it will be fine.

Berri I know how you feel and I think it's totally normal at this stage in the pregnancy. mine was a total accident and I can't quite believe I'm here as nothing in my life is equipped for 3 but I know it's gonna be ok because I'm it's mum. You will fall head over heels in love and no one says it has to be perfect. I find the lack of Wine doesn't help Smile

SevenReasonsToSmile · 06/03/2013 21:35

mooLL great news, glad everything is going well.

beaver have they said when it should go through?

berri do you think it could just subconsciously be because you're now past the point when you had DS, therefore baby could arrive at any time and you don't feel prepared? How old is your DS? I'm sure he'll make a great big brother and you'll fall in love as soon as baby arrives and wondered what on earth you were so worried about.

OP posts:
berri · 07/03/2013 00:27

bood I was definitely thinking of having a large glass tonight to see if it helps! Oh gosh I just didn't expect to feel like this.
seven I think you might be right...part of me expected her to be here by now I think and now I feel a bit overwhelmed by anticipation and also a bit of dread with the labour to think about & all the newborn stuff again. DS is 4 and we had a foul afternoon with him behaving really badly at a friend's house so I think I'm just going to put a lid on today & start again tomorrow. As I said on the preg thread though, I hope I don't keep feeling like this.

MaybeAMayBaby · 07/03/2013 07:28

Hey everyone!

Berri hugs. I felt a bit like that on and off last week.

Beaver what do the solicitor say? Are you waiting for completion and what is the hold up. You have to ring everyday and sometimes more. Make a nuisance of yourself. I threatened the ombudsmen last time and all of a sudden things started moving!

I'm sure I've missed someone else. seasalt good luck on flight from oz.

I'm waiting for consultant today. Fingers crossed its not today. I'm starving! I have in my head that I want to wait until Monday-I turn 30 weeks then. Don't know if we are on same page as dr though. I didn't see one at all yesterday.
The midwife said they sent people to Stafford, stoke and Liverpool last week! We might be neighbours, 10! I hope you don't mind me saying I hope not! I can't handle bein. That far away from DD1. I'm really missing her.
Slept last night. The woman opposite isn't nice at all. She keeps telling her son off for whimpering and crying. All he wants Is a cuddle. She's just said 'shush' really aggressively at the newborn next to me! I wish I had te courage to tells her what a cow she is.
