Shelly oh dear what's he done? I kind of feel like that to.Dp has had to stay over at work and won't be back until tomorrow afternoon.I always knew he would be away for his job but I honestly feel like a single parent all over again.I haven't seen him since 4am Monday morning Hmm

WestieMamma · 01/03/2013 21:08

Had a bit of a bad today :(

I haven't felt the baby move much over the last couple of days and was starting to worry. Agonised over whether to wait till Monday's appointment or talk to someone today. I can't bear the thought of being a nuisance but eventually decided I rather be that than ignore something which shouldn't be ignore.

So I rang the general advice line who told me to ring the hospital immediately. The hospital told me to come in straight away which completely freaked me out. Cue floods of tears and stress.

Anyway, baby is completely fine. They monitored his heart and did a scan, all fine. Except he's playing silly buggers. Instead of being head down, eyes front. He's sat upright, head right under my ribs which explains the pain I've been having there, and is facing backwards. This is why I can't feel much. I suspect he's been in the upright position for a couple of weeks but turned to the back just a few days ago.

MaybeAMayBaby · 01/03/2013 21:48

Sorry easy you've got a reason for the pain now, Westie. Little monkeys! It's started already.

Lolly gla all is well. I don't get this estimated weight thing. My LO is 'underweight' too, but which measurement do they use to estimate weight? Is it head circumf? As that's the only measurement under on my growth charts. All very confusing.

I've got a lesson obs next week with the head. And it just do happens to be on 'ultrsound'! I've got my 4D scan tomorrow too beaut. Good luck. Mine isn't until 4pm. What is 4D anyway? What the 4th dimension? Time? As in video? Confused.

Elly- 10th April?! Bloody hell. I've just realised I've only got 9 weeks left and was scared, but I guess you win! I'm going to bring up having an elective next week and see what they say. I think induction and section will be 7th May.

28+4!

BeauticianNotMagician · 01/03/2013 21:59

Maybe ill most definitely be thinking of you when I have my scan as mines at 4pm too.Hope yours goes well.I will be drinking my lucozade beforehand. We get an hours appointment with DVD and lots of pics.Plus an estimated weight.GrinGrinCan you tell I'm excited

Catchingmockingbirds · 02/03/2013 04:02

Anyone else miss getting a full night of uninterrupted sleep?

tasmaniandevilchaser · 02/03/2013 05:31

hi catching I'm up too! Flipping DD, little pickle, was charging around at 4am (it's her 4th birthday party tomorrow/today so she's a bit excited) and I can't get back to sleep. The baby started kicking very rhythmically, like the ticking of a clock, it went on for about 15 mins and really freaked me out!!! So I just decided to get up. And I've lost my wedding ring. Ok moan over.

Hope everyone else is ok

tasmaniandevilchaser · 02/03/2013 05:34

beaut I'm not doing much exercise, can't really walk much, more like a hobble at the mo. Depends on the pelvis on that day. I did go to a yoga class a few times and that was lovely but on a bad day I just don't feel like it. Got a physio appt for 2 weeks away, which is great. Can't remember who's been waiting for 2.5 months, but that is really really rubbish! Are they just waiting for you to give birth so they can get you off their waiting list???!!!

CheerfulYank · 02/03/2013 05:36

Westie that happened to me with my first! He hadn't moved all day and they were insistent I come in immediately. I was terrified but he was fine.

Catchingmockingbirds · 02/03/2013 07:40

That sounds like big baby hiccups taz Smile. I wake up now during the nigt every night as I'm uncomfy and sore, I miss going to sleep and waking up in the morning rested. She must be getting me into practice for all the sleepless nights I'll have when she's born.

Ellypoo · 02/03/2013 08:14

Ooh good luck with the4d scans today beaut & maybe!!! So exciting!!

No exercise here either, can barely walk and swimming will make it worse Hmm

I love baby hiccups - they feel so funny don't they!

I was getting some quite sharp pains on thurs eve & fri am, was worried about it as they were just on the right side, really quite low down under bump - turns out that's where head is at mo and as he/she turns it a bit it must have been pressing on a nerve! Glad it's nothing sinister but was a bit scary!

5 wks on wed - proper countdown now!!!

Is anyone up to anything exciting this weekend? Am having my hair done this lunchtime, but I think that's pretty much it, am shattered for a change!!!

Catchingmockingbirds · 02/03/2013 08:28

elly the exact same thing happened to me, but on my left side. It was just ligament pain, all that panic for nothing. We're trying to get the house done up before the arrival of baby so we're heading to b&q to pick out wallpaper and then go and look at carpets.

5 weeks, how exciting for you! I've still another 12 weeks left.

Boodstress · 02/03/2013 09:04

I can't believe some are due in 5 weeks - are they early sections for medical reasons? Im so excited to start hearing news of all your arrivals. I'm due a section last week in April but they won't give me a date until the appointment on the 10th April which is a pain. I'm going to push the pelvic dysfunction and try and get as early as possible in that week to try and avoid the baby getting as big as my term plus babies. I can almost cup the whole baby in my hands - it's really bizarre. Hope there's enough fluid ( latest paranoia)

To those wanting to murder other halfs, I felt like that during the week but he has just given me the lie in, made me breakfast in bed and is running me a bath as I type... I'm so glad I didn't murder him. Grin

Catchingmockingbirds · 02/03/2013 09:39

"I'm so glad I didn't murder him"

:o hahaha.

Rhienne · 02/03/2013 09:43

Hi Catching. I am soooo looking forward to sleeping through the night. Sometime around November hopefully!

Since DS climbed out of his cot and we took the side off, we've had veeerrry long evenings getting him to sleep, and disturbed nights as he comes crying to find us every time he falls out. Thursday was about 6 times until DH (who'd been very anti the concept) hauled him into our bed, and last night about 3 times. The worst is that I can't get back to sleep after he's woken me, and even if DH resettles him, the sound of his cries wakes me.

And we get to do this all over again when his junior bed turns up in a couple of weeks, I guess.

I was hoping to introduce all the necessary changes in his life slowly over these coming months, but if it takes him a couple of weeks to get used to each change, his life is going to be one long upset for the next few months. :(

Tas - hope you find your wedding ring again. I'd be really upset if I misplaced mine.

I'm quite uncomfortable. My lower back is struggling and yesterday a hip went funny and I could barely take any weight on that leg. My "overdoing it" limit is getting very low... I think LO is head down. Don't know if it's just turning around or scratching his/her nose or what, but sometimes it feels very strange down there. Like someone is scraping the inside of my pelvic bones. Hmm.

Boodstress · 02/03/2013 10:03

rhienne my experience is very similar and equally strange. It's like someone's tapping my hipbone sometimes.
Before we got DS 2 into a big boy bed we took the sides off cot bed and wrapped a single bed sheet the whole way round the bed under the mattress as well and that stopped him falling - might be worth a try x

Ellypoo · 02/03/2013 11:02

Bood yes I am having an early section at 36+1 which is why it's so early!

Hopefully he'll get used to not having sides on his bed by the time his big boy bed comes fx!

Ooh enjoy wallpaper & carpet shopping seven - that's the fun bit!!!

BeauticianNotMagician · 02/03/2013 12:52

I didn't realise so many of you on here were having a section.Makes me wonder if I should have pushed for one.I definitely don't want forceps or ventouse intervention.I just thought recovery wise I would be better off not going for one.Hmmmmmm

beaver33 · 02/03/2013 13:02

OMG just saw there's a November 2013 thread. I must be REALLY pregnant Blush.

We've come so far!

Hope 4D scans go well, Beaut and Maybe - would love to hear about them.

I get a growth scan at 32 weeks - 2 weeks time - so looking forward to that.

Feeling really....happy....at the moment, weirdly. I know that shouldn't be weird, but I wonder if I've had a dose of chilled out hormones as recently I've been really angry and riled up. Now I just feel.....zen-like. Beatific. At one.

Until someone p*sses me off.

Rhienne · 02/03/2013 14:29

Yeah. DS's junior bed is here! The baby shop rang and DH went and collected it while DS and I both had afternoon naps. Now we just need to put it all together.

Hopefully he'll stay in it a little better, as it has rails on the top half.

BeauticianNotMagician · 02/03/2013 15:02

Aaarrghhh I'm in the 'wanting to murder DP' camp for sure today Hmm

Rhienne · 02/03/2013 15:55

Hmphf. It was the wrong model bed! And since we had to order it in, I guess it's going to be weeks until they get the right model in again. I'm too tired and hormonal to deal with these things without overreacting. Angry

BeauticianNotMagician · 02/03/2013 18:02

4d scan was amazing. He is definitely a he no mistaking. He has a cute chubby lil face. Was being his usual awkward self and not moving much for the scan he was snuggled between my uterine wall and the placenta with the cord on his nose. Was licking and holding his cord. Looks like he has massive feet. I don't know where that's from as Dp is a size 9 and I'm a 4. So much for the midwife saying baby is measuring small for dates but he's 3lb already Shock

MaybeAMayBaby · 02/03/2013 19:41

Glad it went well, beaut. Ours wasn't such good news.
Pretty certain my placenta is failing. The cord resistance was high Confused and baby has dropped to 4th percentile. The dr spent an hour doing measurement and checking blood flow. Baby IS a girl and she has grown from 2 weeks ago, but at a slower rate.
She was jumping around like a nutter so taking some readings was difficult. Couldn't get any pic as she refused to move her fce from the uterus wall. Have to go back on Thursday for another try.

Looks like this one will be even earlier than 38 weeks. He wants me to go in Monday despite a scan and appt on Tuesday. Might even call DAU tomorrow.

Rhienne · 02/03/2013 20:08

Hi Maybe. That sounds really scary. Very glad to hear that they are keeping a close eye on you.

Ellypoo · 02/03/2013 20:56

Crikey that sounds really scary - so glad you went for the scan today. What are they likely to do? Just monitor? This is part of the reason I'm having so many scans - to check the function of the placenta.
