I gave up going to the supermarket months ago - I send DH with a list now! I was in Hobbycraft when I had to keep stopping the other day. I'm feeling a little better now. The about-to-fall-out feelings seem to be less frequent now & I'm only getting one or 2 strong BHs a day, the rest are more like twinges. I'm suddenly getting more pelvic pain though. That has nothing to do with me pushing a box of books across the floor with my foot, I'm sure...! I've not had any other early labour type symptoms, although I was getting more discharge than usual for a couple of days & kept rushing to the loo terrified that I was losing my plug! Blush That seems to have calmed down now though. I'm guessing DS2 had started engaging & thought better of it & has retreated again!

Jojobump1986 · 29/04/2013 21:59

I think that would count as justifiable provocation bring! Wink People can say the stupidest things sometimes. I was talking to someone today about the stupid things people have said to us about our pregnancies, including people who tell us that we're not as far along as we claim to be because of our small bumps... Hmm I nearly asked someone if she was there when DS2 was conceived the other day! Blush

Jojobump1986 · 30/04/2013 06:20

Sooo... It's 6am & I'm sitting next to the open backdoor eating an ice lolly while DH & DS are still asleep! No idea why. It seemed like a good idea when I sat down but now I'm a little cold! It's a lovely day here though, albeit on the slightly chilly side! Wink

FrustratedSycamoresRocks · 30/04/2013 07:02

Mmm icelollys. I keep eating them too. Although I haven't ventured out from under my dovet yet to see whether its a nice day here or not.

My tens machine has arrived. Yay. But I can't collect if for another 2 days due to silly post office opening times not fitting in with my silly working times.

Lorelei353 · 30/04/2013 11:33

Ice lollies. yum. Anything freezing cold and I'm happy. Have ice cream in freezer at home.

Just had MW appointment (34 weeks). All good - little heart beat beating away, all blood work came back normal. She did spot somewhere in my notes where my blood group had been recorded wrong which is worrying but sorted now. Amazing though, I've had 4 midwife appts. there and seem 4 different midwifes. Also had 3 GP appts and seen 3 different doctors. I wouldn't mind but I've stuck to their Tues morn mw clinic and Thurs morn GP antenatal clinic schedule so that I'd have alleged continuity of care!

Baby has moved a bit though. Head is still down, which is good, but body has moved over to the right - it was on the left when I saw GP 3 weeks ago. Must try and stay sleeping on left hand side but keep rolling over to right in my sleep!

Librarina · 30/04/2013 13:44

Mmmm I could eat ice lollies all day. Tangle Twisters are my current favourite but I've a tub of homemade strawberry chocolate chip in the freezer that I'm going to spend some time with when I'm done posting here.
I had my MW appt today as wel Lor, am 34.4, baby is head down, bum to the left of my belly button, limbs to the right. Currently kicking me in all directions at once.

Got the tour of the MLU on Sunday which I think will make it all a lot more real and I've just bought every pair of black PJs that TKMaxx had to offer.

Lorelei353 · 30/04/2013 14:15

That position sounds about right Librarina.

As far as I know my hospital still haven't lifted the winter vomiting bug visitor restrictions so aren't doing tours. I really want to go in and look around. Have done the online video tour though.

Good idea for TKMaxx. Going to hit Primark on Friday to buy massive knickers for post-childbirth and also maybe some nighties.

bringonthetrumpets · 30/04/2013 14:16

Baby moving around is good, Lor They will flip from side to side. It's all good :)

! 2 weeks to gather the rest of the supplies. This is totally starting to feel more real.

I am craving ice cream like nobody's business. Midwives here are soooooooo anti-ice cream because they think it makes pudgy babies and I really just want some. Waaa!

Jojobump1986 · 30/04/2013 14:22

bring, if it helps, I ate ice cream all through my last pregnancy & DS was a scrawny 7lb baby!

I'm glad I'm not the only one obsessing about frozen treats! I allow myself one fruit juice lolly a day & I usually have it after putting DS down for his afternoon nap so I'm really regretting having one this morning now! I had to have a choc ice instead... How sad! Wink

Lorelei353 · 30/04/2013 14:22

I think I'm on for a pudgy baby then Bring. I've had a tub of Cornish cream Honeycomb Ice Cream in my freezer that I've been making my way through over the last few days. Blush

bringonthetrumpets · 30/04/2013 15:24

I'm certainly not pulling up my judgey pants about ice cream! It seems like they just know when I've had ice cream and they somehow get it out of me like a confession.

Oh god, the Cornish cream sounds ahhhhhhhhhhhh-mazing right now. Or a rootbeer float. Or a Dairy Queen Reese's Peanut Butter Cup Blizzard. Or a Wendy's Frostie. I have a small problem right now I think Blush. Might need to fix this craving today after my counseling session.

FrustratedSycamoresRocks · 30/04/2013 16:14

lore how do you make a tub last a few days? Mine last a few hours at most. Grin

Lorelei353 · 30/04/2013 17:32

It's a big tub. Also, my husband's face watching me eat it helps to keep me under control.

FrustratedSycamoresRocks · 30/04/2013 17:45

I just say "mmm icecream" at DH he's well trained not to come between me and a tub of icecream Grin

Jojobump1986 · 30/04/2013 18:30

I've had yet more health-related drama this afternoon! I had a nap & woke up with stomach pain. I rang DH & demanded that he come home 45 minutes early because I wasn't entirely sure if it was digestive or baby-related pain. Eventually I had diarrhoea & started to feel better but I don't really know what caused it & I'm still feeling a little sensitive now. Poor DS had to stay in his cot until DH got home! He didn't seem to be too upset though! DS2 is wriggling away so I'm pretty sure he's ok but I am a little paranoid that my sudden onset stomach issues were a pre-labour thing & contractions are going to start any minute!

As if that wasn't stressful enough, in the 2 minutes that DH left DS alone for he managed to climb onto the sofa, reach over the side & pull several things up... Including my sewing kit which he proceeded to open it has a tiny zip that I struggle with & when DH went back in he was sitting there opening & closing my v pointy scissors! I could've sworn I'd put it out of his reach! Grrr! More rearranging to be done when I'm feeling a bit better!

I really must get round to packing my hospital bag! I'm 35 weeks now & still not actually started. I have a list though... That's something, right?!

Librarina · 30/04/2013 19:03

A list is more than I have, and all my new Pjs are rubbish!

Sorry you are unwell. Will keep fingers and toes crossed that its just an upset tummy.

OP posts:
Jojobump1986 · 30/04/2013 19:22

Hmmm... Am having regular BHs every few minutes! They don't really feel like they're doing anything, it just keeps getting tight across the top. Just about to try & eat some dinner. Hopefully some food & water will settle the contractions!

FrustratedSycamoresRocks · 30/04/2013 19:51

Are you feeling okay now jojo?

I've had a couple of times when I've woken up in the night with horrendous can't walk stomach pain. I can imagine how scary that would be if you were alone.

My dd always manages to find whatever it is that I have hidden away from her. And 2 seconds is all it takes. these dc will take over the world one day

FrustratedSycamoresRocks · 30/04/2013 19:53

Ooh x post jojo have you had a bath to see if that settles them?

bringonthetrumpets · 30/04/2013 20:11

Upset tummy might make the BH worse too. Sad Sorry to hear about your fiasco today! I hope you're feeling better!

I ate a glorious chocolate malt (just because I didn't want to be left out from all the ice cream fun you were all having).

Jojobump1986 · 30/04/2013 20:13

DH is running one now! Smile The contractions seem to have subsided for now but I didn't manage to eat very much. Still, something Is better than nothing! My poor belly is just feeling a little fragile at the moment which isn't being helped by DS2's hiccups or seemingly endless squirming! He doesn't usually wriggle this much! I think he's doing it deliberately...! Hmm

FrustratedSycamoresRocks · 30/04/2013 20:28

Are they painful jojo or those uncomfortable (but not painful) tightenings?
Either yesterday or the day before I had a run of the uncomfortable ones followed by what felt like baby doing star jumps.
I hope ds2 stays put for you for now, or at least until you have your bag packed.
And you know Sod's law states that the moment your bag is packed he'll stay put for at least another 3 weeks.

kittykatsforever · 30/04/2013 21:55

Sorry to hear more drama Jojo it's so hard to know what to think in these situations isn't it, bubs would I'm sure be fine but I know you want your home birth so hope he stays put for now! P.s I'm 36 wks and no bag ( you'd think I'd have learnt my lesson from last time but in fairness I never felt I'd needed anything desperately that I hadn't had time to chuck in bag)
Mw app tomorrow to tell me baby is perfectly positioned ofcourse she isn't dd driving me crazy, Jojo if it makes you feel better I left dd at the top of stairs just before getting in bath to run down and get her toothbrush from the bag ( wed been the dentist and dh working) and by that time shed climbed into the toilet got hold of dh's razor from shelf and slashed open her thumb! Blood massacre !

She is doing amazing in new bed ( bar 5:45 wake up call this morning) earlier then I used to get up for work and has learnt within the week that she can get out of said new bed by climbing to the end and getting out onto toy chest etc she has also been very naughty today little shit of which I won't bore you with but worse that she's enjoyed doing it and laughs at me when she can see I've got cross with her, I swear distruction is her middle name < every thing she touches> anyone who thinks girls are easier has just not met her!
Oh and on ice cream front my total love ATM is McDonald's ice cream with flake ie mr wippy we are not really surposed to eat and also that I never have when not pregnant?! Not even that big an ice cream lover, what's that about? Craving or rebellion Wink

Jojobump1986 · 30/04/2013 21:57

They're mostly just uncomfortable. I think any pain is a result of my dodgy belly making my abdomen rather sensitive! It all seems to have calmed down since I had a bath. Even the baby seems more restful, although he's still having a gentle stretch every now & then!

I have heartburn now!

I think I'll just lie still & pretend not to exist for the next 2-7 weeks! Wink

FrustratedSycamoresRocks · 30/04/2013 22:17

A bit of both kitty rebellion and craving. And who said girls were easier? they were clearly mad Grin

Do you reckon my dog knows something I don't know; he's following me around like a little lost puppy. Which isn't like him, and is quite annoying, he's mr independent opens his food drawer and helps himself when he gets the chance but he's my new found shadow today. Does he know something? Should I be worried? Hmm
