New thread created in haste before the old one fills up!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I'm the same, I don't feel sick either! Hungry yes, and slower bowels than normal, and very slight nipple tenderness but not much else at all! If period wasn't late/testing etc. I don't think I would ever have realised I was pregnant with just these symptoms. It's funny isn't it, it does make you wonder what's going on in there - why some people get affected so horrendously, and others not!?

amiready · 25/01/2013 17:17

Sorry fl0b0t - missed your post when I wrote that!

jm233 · 25/01/2013 17:33

Super chuffed to say scan went well! There is definitely a little bean in there, with a little heart beat and measuring up well!

'Aww look at its tiny head' says I. 'That's it's feet right there' says sonographer... Confused

kimjayne · 25/01/2013 17:39

fl0b0t - If I lived near you I would be well up for a meet up / whinge! Unfortunately I am based in Manchester.

I know what you mean about coping 12 weeks! I am almost 8 weeks in now and already struggling. I've had a few teary moments at the peak of sickness. (Is that really pathetic?).

Anyway, on a lighter note. After 2 weeks without my beloved hot drinks I have finally found a hot drink that I can stomach. :) I have been doing herbal teas and they are fine but don't really take the spot of milky tea for me. Anyway, a mint Options Hot Choc really hits the spot! And there's no milk in it so it doesn't make my vom :) YEAY. Haha Brew (the simple things!)

kimjayne · 25/01/2013 17:42

Oh by the way, for anyone who's getting a private scan in manchester I booked ours today with Ultrasound Now in Stockport. They fit me in for Tuesday! So quite short notice. I will let you know how it goes :) Thanks to those who recommended Ultrasound Now!! x :) Much appreciated

fl0b0t · 25/01/2013 17:52

Np, got to be a few southerners on here :)

andadietcoke · 25/01/2013 17:53

Fab. Might give them a ring about Wednesday. Is there a good time, statistically, to go for an early scan, does anyone know?

kimjayne · 25/01/2013 17:59

andadietcoke - I just called and asked which slots were free? They seem quite helpful. :)

Kittenkatzen · 25/01/2013 18:27

I'm southern fl0b0t, but Sussex not Berkshire....if you happen to work in London I'd be up for a lunchtime whinge?!

KamikazeeKid · 25/01/2013 18:29

I'm a southerner! But not near Berks I'm afraid .

Kittenkatzen · 25/01/2013 18:29

Oh and still no real sickiness here....a little wave of it on the train this morning and the odd lightheaded moment but that's it. Most of the time I just feel that kind of almost-sicky-but-not-quite starving hungry feeling.

KamikazeeKid · 25/01/2013 18:38

All day nausea and retching.....uggghhh
Very different to my evening sickness I had with DS!
Booking appt tomorrow

HettySunshine · 25/01/2013 18:44

DP has just gone out to get a Chinese takeaway. I can't stop thinking about chicken and cashew nuts!

Still not having sickness but I do have sore boobs. I also have a feeling in my lower tummy. It's not cramps it's more like a mild sloshiness - DP says it could be my womb growing. Does that sound possible? I'm not worried exactly more very aware of every little feeling. Does anyone know what I mean?

MeanMrsMustard · 25/01/2013 18:47

I'm in London too (but can't do lunch times!)

I've had a few sharp pains today. Feeling a bit worried. I'd just decided against a private scan as had managed to relax, but now anxious again. Why does the wait have to be so hard?

KamikazeeKid · 25/01/2013 18:52

With my DS I had a lot of odd sharp pain but like a tugging pain from my Minnie to below my belly button and then ramdom stabbing sharp pains to either side, getting now same stage again and that was womb stretching pains. Had I not felt them before I might be concerned.
Where r your pains and how bad? Maybe the same?

LexyMa · 25/01/2013 18:56

Ooh Hetty we've just had chicken and cashew nuts! Spooky! I shared it with DS. I had an entire long aluminium box thing of Singapore vermicelli to myself too and now I do not want to move.

HettySunshine · 25/01/2013 18:59

Lexy, he's not back yet. I have the plates and the cutlery out and i'm having to hold myself back from opening the door to see if he's coming!

georgie22 · 25/01/2013 19:06

Sorry to those who have left the thread since I was last on.

Seen the midwife today for my booking in appointment - lovely as she was my midwife last time too. Have also booked a private scan at 9+3 just for some reassurance.

Symptom wise nausea hasn't been too bad over recent days, craving cold drinks, grapes etc. and just feeling generally exhausted. It's overwhelming in the evening and I just can't stay awake. Mornings are generally best as I've got reasonable amounts of energy then. I've got some achey pulling 'stitch' like sensations in my abdomen mainly on the left side today which I got last time and think is round ligament pain. Glad others are feeling cold - I have got hypothyroidism but it's well controlled so think it's just part of the general tiredness.

Hoping that the snow disappears soon - the novelty has well and truly worn off!

SaggyOldPregnantCatpuss · 25/01/2013 20:05

I've just walked through the door! Left home at seven! I've been on the market all day, then did my poo picking job and went over to my ponies, wheeled a barrow of water 1/4 mile to the trough and then did the same with a bale of hay! I am bloody knackered now! The sooner this snow goes away the better IMO!
It was lovely today, I was packing up the stall and my boss turned up to help me pack down! Smile I could get used to that kind of treatment!

SGJ · 25/01/2013 20:38

Had booking appointment today (8+3), community midwife was lovely but sadly I won't see her again as my GP employ their own midwives so I just go there for all my appointments instead. Bit of a shame but she said that the equally nice midwife that I saw when pg with DD is still there, so get to see her again throughout. Actually feel much better today, no sore throat or headache and so far no sickness either.
I'm sure I'll be wishing it back again tomorrow so enjoying the relief for now!
Am so jealous of all of you having early scans, but proper 12 week scan is only 4 weeks away now, I'm sure I can hold on!

badguider · 25/01/2013 21:02

I can't wait to actually enjoy food again Sad - I know I should be glad I am not actually vomming but fed up of feeling queasy. I've just ordered a bunch of crap food from sainsburys, frozen frenchfries and stuff, cause it's about all that doesn't turn my stomach.

kipsonline · 25/01/2013 21:21

Lovely to catch up on everyone's news after a busy week at work, which included me leaning over one of my final year undergrad students to show him a calculation and needing to vom. Urgently. Awful. Also happened whilst taking both DS swimming tonight. There is no way I could have made it to the loo in time without leaving them in the pool on their own. Luckily a few deep breaths fixed that one though...the shame! Great food tips everyone thanks, am adding Heinz tomato soup, mini brioche, taramasalata and tangfastics to my online order now!!!

Creamtea1 · 25/01/2013 21:36

Haagen daz pralines and cream...

Funny how THAT doesn't make me feel sick Hmm

SGJ · 25/01/2013 21:58

Snap! Had that exact flavour for a nutritious dinner tonight!

Creamtea1 · 25/01/2013 22:05

It is amazing though...:) basically I feel sick from getting up till dinner time - I feel sick at dinner but I make myself have it (and it has to be what I fancy) and then it's as if floodgates open and I can't stop eating all night! Then bed, sleep, wake up in the morning and start again!
