Angel I also reckon you should call your MW for advice. That's what they're there for, they will be happy to speak to you.

angeltattoo · 18/01/2013 12:59

Thanks everyone, my DH has rang (from bloody France ) and I told him, he was worried as all our family and friends are a) 2 hours away and b) snowed in anyway and he rang the GP, so someone will walk round and see me.

So I feel relieved, will let you know how I get on.

JJ fingers crossed your mum will be fine, everything is scary after cancer, I know. Xx

aufaniae · 18/01/2013 13:00

I've also requested to join FB but nothing happened.

My profile pic is sort of like a negative (but not!), it's mainly black with lines picked out in kind of rainbow colours. (That'll make sense when you see it, I hope!)

aufaniae · 18/01/2013 13:01

angel, that's good news.

Let us know how it goes. Keeping fingers crossed it's totally minor and nothing to worry about :)

Dysgu · 18/01/2013 13:07

As we are all sitting here (very busy) would anyone mind telling me what they have bought for DC already? I know we need to really get onto this but so far seem to very little:

Phil n' Ted buggy (left over from DD2)
Changing table (gift from Dparents for DD1)
Various reusable nappies (from DD1 then DD2)
3 x newborn white vests
3 x newborn white sleepsuits
1 pack of newborn size nappies (Tesco own I think)

and that seriously is it...

angeltattoo · 18/01/2013 13:31

Dr has been, he checked my eyes with his keyring torch, said he's sure I'm fine.

He wasn't bother about baby, as my head had taken all the impact and that they're robust and well protected in there!

So I've just dipped my own urine (trace of protein only), done my own blood pressure and had a listen with the doppler (i don't like doing this normally, but HB was heard and she was kicking the probe!) so I feel reassured.

Just hope DH can get his flight home now, and this headache doesn't las too long, or whiplash set in.

angeltattoo · 18/01/2013 13:46

Dysgu, I have bought/been bought:

Nappy sacks
Little cotton hats

Some fancy sleep suits for coming home, but only a few - will wait to see how big she is!

Nipple cream
Breast pads

Will probably think of more...

Dysgu · 18/01/2013 14:28

Thank you angel you see your list is a lot longer than mine so I think I need to get some stuff. I think our next NCT sale is in April, but which time we will probably have this new baby, know what it is so will be able to buy more stuff.

I keep nosing online but can't get my head round actually buying anything - I still think it has something to do with the idea that if we leave off buying stuff then the baby will stay put!

SneezySnatcher · 18/01/2013 16:33

JJ sorry to hear what a worrying time you're having.

angel hope you're feeling better soon. I had a bump into a wall with my car when 35 weeks with DD (due to snow) and all was fine but I know how worrying it is.

Been for my second appointment this week. No protein but BP slightly higher (still not worryingly high though). I now have to go to the hospital three times a week. I'm grateful they're monitoring it but it's getting tough going in so frequently Sad

steph2412 · 18/01/2013 16:36

Sneezy i know what a pain that can be with dc1 in the end the midwife came to me every other day until i was taken in to hospital to be started off. At least the end is in sight!

Teapig · 18/01/2013 17:57

sneezy, going to the hospital that often must be tough but at least they're keeping a good eye on you.

Glad you got checked out angel, hope you're headache eases quickly and OH is home to take care of you very soon.

Hey noodles, we're almost EDD buddies!

grow, a woodland themed nursery sounds gorgeous! DH is painting our nursery at the moment, I know it sounds mad but we're painting it a fairly dark grey. Not the usual choice for a nursery I know but we love dark colours that make brights pop out and create a cosy effect. I'm thinking of doing a feature wall in Quentin Blake's cockatoos wallpaper. Can't wait to start assembling furniture.

Wow, I thought I'd bought quite a bit of baby bits but reading everyone's list I'm realising I have much more to get. We have snow forecast but none yet, hoping it stays clear so I can venture to the shops while DH cracks on with the painting.

Hope everyone stays warm and snug in this cold weather.

enjay0811 · 18/01/2013 18:37

Well..snowed in here! We managed to get dd's out earlier to build a snowman n have made some biscuits and cakes with them but so bored! Cldnt bend down to pick the snow up but still wore myself out and needed a cat nap this aftanoon!

jj hope things are ok with ur mum, must b so worrying.

angel glad everything is ok but take it easy for a few days. Hope oh makes it home soon.

steph I'm in the same boat..dc3 but got rid of everything! Def need to get shoppin to catch up with u tho. I've got bits and pieces, vests, babygro's, muslins etc and have cot bed, pram, moses basket but need to get stuff for me and toiletries, nappies etc.

steph2412 · 18/01/2013 19:01

ENJAY i must admit i am only so organised as i am worried this baby will be early!i have saved so much money tho by buying in the sales i got all the nappies wipes and bottle teats from sainsburys last week as there baby event seemed to be the cheapest for essential. ive picked a second hand cot but need to get a matress!think i will need some more sheets aswel the list goes on and on x

Dysgu · 18/01/2013 19:49

These lists are really useful - we too are expecting DC3 having been pretty certain we were stopping at 2 until we changed our minds last spring!

We are also expecting this one to come early - if it repeats DD1 then it could arrive before the end of February although we managed a couple of extra weeks with DD2.

I should at least get my hospital bag sorted, I think.

bunnygirl80 · 18/01/2013 20:42

dysgu this is DC2 for me and so far I've bought:
More clothes than she'll ever need!
1 jumbo box of newborn sized nappies
New breast pump (DS got hold of my old one and used it to dig in his sand pit!)
New mattress for Moses basket

We already have:
Moses basket and cot
All bedding
Towels
Reusable nappies, although DS still wears them so one child will be in disposables till he potty trains
Bottles
Steriliser
Change bag
Sling

I'm planning on getting
Double pram (we're off to look at them again today)
New baby monitor (current one died at the hands of DS)
New car seat for DS (his will then go back to rear facing for dc2)
Teats for bottles
Dummies
Muslins (gave all my old ones away to a friend in need)

angel hope you're ok and whiplash doesn't set in

Am loving hearing about everyone's adventures in the snow. It was the hottest day on record in Sydney yesterday, it reached 46 degrees in the afternoon. I ventured out to the park with DS pretty early in the day, but had to come home after about 30mins because the heat made me feel sick and dizzy. Ended up going to the swimming pool for the afternoon, which was great as the water makes him light enough for me to comfortably lift him and my SPD felt much better.

Teapig · 18/01/2013 20:51

OMG - my belly button is no longer any inny! It's transformed since this morning though not yet an outy, it's just sort of flat. Grossed out that in a few days I could have an outy on my hands - ick!

SneezySnatcher · 18/01/2013 21:04

Teapig mine did that yesterday. Well, the top half is outy and the bottom half is flat - not attractive!

tattooedapril87 · 18/01/2013 21:29

my button is the same- not in but not out ...

but here is the worst bit- its gone gooey/crusty/flakey?? whats all that about??

Fluffeh · 19/01/2013 07:07

angel hope your feeling better :).

Had to go underwear shopping yesterday because my bras were creating 4 boobs and my knickers just kept falling down as I couldn't get them in the right place for bump. Pre pregnancy I was a 30aa yesterday I had to buy 34dd!! Fantastic haha!

Loving the lists of things already bought/left to buy.
We have -
Moses basket,
Pram - with carrycot and carseat and base,
Bouncy chair,
Changing mats,
Monitors,
Nappies,
Wipes,
Cotton wool,
Play mat with gym,
Two big bags of clothes from a lovely MN'r,
Sleeping bags,
Vests,
Hats,
Bibs,
Brush,
3 blankets.

We still needs cot and mattress, mattress for carrycot, baby gros, reusable nappies + wipes and a couple of bottles and steriliser just invade breast feeding doesn't go too well.

Snow wise we've had hardly any :(. Not even enough for a snow ball fight. But that's a good thing as DP needs to drive around 80 miles today to visit his boys.

SneezySnatcher · 19/01/2013 07:37

Ridiculous amounts of snow here. DH and I are going to take DD to the park on the sledge.

Supposed to be going to DNeice's second birthday party tomorrow. Only problem is it's on a farm (!) on a very inaccessible road. The children are supposed to be feeding the animals and going on a tractor ride. Not sure how likely that is!

edinfirst · 19/01/2013 08:58

Finally snowing in Scotland too. Dragged DH out to make a snowman at 10 o'clock last night (wanted to make a snowlady with a bump :)) but it wasn't frozen enough so we had a snowball fight instead - can't wait to have a little person to play with too!

Last night I went for a pregnancy massage and feel lovely for it today! Couldn't afford salon prices but found a lady online who used to be a midwife and massages from home - would totally recommend it for anyone with just general aches and pains.

We too are building nursery furniture this weekend, I can't wait. We've not long decorated, so just putting up a wee border to make it more like a nursery. Very excited to see a change as we've been referring to it as Bumps's room for ages and soon it will look like that!

Off to yoga this morning so I'd better get up and sort the car out. FX for good enough snow to build my upduffed snowlady later
