IJustWoreMyTrenchcoat · 01/02/2013 14:02

I am thinking of you today Carrie. I am so sorry you are going through this. Xx

LouiseD29 · 01/02/2013 17:05

Good news from the scan. All looks well, and I'm a bit further along than we thought - new due date - 10th August! So pleased, staring at the pics and trying to take it all in.

RugBugs · 01/02/2013 17:13

We have such different experiences Beckie, my Dad's cousin has outlived all of his immediate family, his only surviving Aunt (my Nan) is 87 and cannot live independently either. My Dad's eldest Brother (60s) has been his carer for the last few years.
We just don't have any kind of support up here, my family are 5hrs away and DP's family aren't exactly the strong, all pull together type.

We have some exciting plans for the weekend! We are off to a baby and toddler show! Had a look at the exhibitors list today and very excited by the sling library, custom converse, the book people, NCT shop (for their baby nest) and some local baby clothes designers.

There's also a £56k dummy Shock on display.

wavesandsmiles · 01/02/2013 17:14

Hello everyone. I declined the NT screening, and with my 2 previous I declined all the tests too.

Still in hospital but I want to go home Sad I miss my DCs so much it hurts. I was really stupid to struggle on for so long, but I have this crazy attitude that means I battle on til I literally collapse, rather than accept I need help or (perish the thought) a rest! It is boring, and lonely, and I wish I was at home. I am going to be signed off for a couple of weeks apparently, and if the sickness doesn't seriously improve, will be back in for IV fluids. In the meantime, it is little sips, and little nibbles and big naps.

I hope others have a more enjoyable weekend ahead than seems to be panning out for me Smile

RugBugs · 01/02/2013 17:14

Hurray Louise is your back any better?

FoofFighter · 01/02/2013 17:22

Waves, poor poor you :( have they indicated when you might go home? x
louise, how much further on are you than you thought then?

LouiseD29 · 01/02/2013 17:32

Thanks beckie and rugbugs. Back is a little better, although still getting shooting pains in certain positions. Just trying to take it very easy. Am feeling very happy though with this afternoon's news.

wavesandsmiles sorry to hear things are tough for you at the moment. Hope you feel better soon.

foof I'm six days further on. Thought I was bang on 12 weeks today, but they've dated it as 12+6.

blondecat · 01/02/2013 17:34

13 weeks today
One more week andy its second trimester, right?

Waves, I do hope it will just be a few days and not longer for you. Get stronger !

LittleMissSnowShine · 01/02/2013 18:00

waves - I really do feel your pain. I avoided hospitalisation but only because DH, my mum and MIL have been doing everything for me in terms of looking after DS, getting groceries in, doing housework while I just took my meds and slept. Finally a bit better this week, still can't do very much but up and about and it makes such a difference to your mood. Rest is so boring but it's so important at the same time! There's a really good HG support thread on here: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/pregnancy/a1655343-Hyperemesis-Support

rugbugs - have fun at the baby fair! we have a lot of stuff already but that hasn't stopped me creating a wish list on amazon hee hee

louise - hurray someone else due very near me, we're just one day apart! Congrats on the good scan :)

blonde - 13 weeks here too! Yes, one more week and first tri is done and dusted! and sickness can bugger right off

Just ordered a Dominos. 50% off this weekend and for first time in days i actually feel...tentatively...hungry!

FoofFighter · 01/02/2013 18:41

I thought 2nd tri started at 13 weeks no?

ScubaSarah · 01/02/2013 19:06

Foof I was similarly confused but apparently 1st tri is 14 weeks and 2nd and 3rd are each 13... Guess cos first 2 weeks of first tri there's no bean and they need to make it 40...?

JollyRedGiant · 01/02/2013 19:25

I'm going on this link for dates:

beckie90 · 01/02/2013 19:50

Oh I know rugs its a personal thing and we all have different opinions on it etc its down to each individual. There's no right or wrong answer to it really. I have no support either OH works 12hr days, only people I'm close to is my mum and dad but they work 6 days a week too, so I do everything on my own, so the thought if it did happen is so scary cause its hard now, I've seen my nan and grandad go through so much with there job and know its so challenging, my grandad has incurable cancer, so my nan is like everyones carer, bless her. But my desision is based on past expirience mainly I had to terminate when I was 10wks before, I was put to sleep so wasn't aware of any of it, it was for health reasons, consultants said the outcome wasn't good if I went ahead and could have killed me. And even that destroyed me, I still regret it now and think I should have gone ahead with the pregnancy, and I just promised myself back then i wouldn't go through it again, cause it affected me in so many ways, it sounds silly but I'm such a weak person, I had to have councilling last time cause I felt like I couldn't cope with it emotionally. I'm sorry if my post before offended you in anyway cause I know that everyone is different and have different situations.

louise congrats on the scan, same due date as me :)

*waves get well soon Thanks

Xx

Mrsd77 · 01/02/2013 20:09

Hi all. Had my second attempt at NT today after last weeks wriggles. Got a measurement of 1.5 so I'm quite happy with that.

This week has seen the puking slow down to nothing or just the once a day and I'm not as desperately tired. Mood swings aren't great though and I'm a bit tearful. Had a bit if a do with someone at work today which reduced me into a bit of a sobbing session in my office. I feel like an idiot!

So great to hear about good scans. I hope those with struggles feel better soon. This pregnancy lark is too tough sometimes!

Mayanbob · 01/02/2013 21:26

Hello everyone. Sorry to hear about those people who are feeling not so good.... hope you feel a better soon.

snowshine I also partook in this Dominos goodness.

I am feeling sleepy and my brain is addled. Confirmation of NT/ dating scan came through which is good.

Those that have had NT + Bloods - how long does it take for the result of the blood test to come through?

Thank you. hope you all have a good weekend. x

beckie90 · 01/02/2013 21:44

mayan last time my results were through in just over a week. They say if theres anything concerning they call you within a few says. If not its just a confirmation of your result ratio through post within 2wks :) x

Jollymummy2 · 02/02/2013 11:04

Blimey think I need a sign for my door "scary hormonal pregnant lady. Approach with caution!"
I am feeling very blurgh, sicky and ridiculously hormonal so think I will hide in my bed for the day and leave the kids to DH to deal with!
Please tell me I am not the only one feeling like this!!

In the plus side i have just polished off a tin of potatoes with melted cheese and my god it was the most heavenly thing I have eaten in 12 weeks!!

12+6 and feeling it!

beckie90 · 02/02/2013 11:36

jollymum I did start to feel better at one point but now I feel terrible again, sick, headache n utterly exhausted and OH never has any sympathy, sure he thinks I make it up lol x

RugBugs · 02/02/2013 11:36

Oh Jolly you made me laugh!
DP is seriously irritating me the last few days. He's feeling very sorry for himself because he has...... a runny nose! I am not being terribly sympathetic.

The only things I'm enjoying eating at the minute are carbs with melted cheese but potatoes hadn't occurred to me, thanks!

RuckAndRoll · 02/02/2013 12:05

Jolly You're definitely not along. Despite me being a mardy cow, my DH is being really good. He quite likes the fact he's given himself the job of 'chief boob checker' after a friend of mine said when she miscarried the first she knew was when her boobs suddenly deflated. So he takes it very seriously checking them every few days!

DM has phoned today, she wants to come and stay next week to look after me whilst DH is at work, I just want peace and quiet, not looking after, but I can't really say no when all she wants to do is look after her daughter, cook and clean for us.

Potatoes and cheese sounds horrible - sorry! However Philadelphia with ritz crackers followed by jelly - yum Grin

Dexidoo · 02/02/2013 13:43

Hello all

Another seriously irritable hormonal lady here. Fed up of feeling (and looking) like shit. DH is trying his best but regularly telling me I don't look very well isn't really helping.

I'm waiting for the bloom. It better be here by 14 weeks or there will be trouble!

CarriePie · 02/02/2013 14:10

Hi all
Just wanted to check in and say thank you for your thoughts and prayers yesterday. It was hard and I came round from the general anaesthetic in floods of tears but now I am home and physically fine if mentally exhausted and drained.
I couldn't resist a quick peek on here today to see how you were all getting on and was overwhelmed with all your wishes.
I have fantastic RL friends and family who have been a delight and I am so thankful we told all at 9 weeks so everyone can give us support without having to first find out we were pregnant and then tell them the news if you see what I mean.
I will be stalking having a quick read every now and again to see how you're all getting on. Good luck xxxx

RuckAndRoll · 02/02/2013 14:22

Carrie Glad you're home and physically fine. Lots of RL support is good too. Take care.

beckie90 · 02/02/2013 14:40

carrie hope your ok, glad your home. Sounds like you have great family and friends. Take care and all the best for the future xxx

FoofFighter · 02/02/2013 14:54

carrie, so glad yesterday went.. um.. well? for you - not the right words I know but I can't think just now Blush Put your feet up and take it easy my love xx
