Was just reading another thread and someone said we worry when we do have symptoms, worry when we don't - so true! How far gone are you now when?

Am feeling more positive now though - feeling a bit more like it's genuinely out of my hands and I'm doing all I can! Good luck for your 20 week scan littlemiss - are you going to find out the sex?

tedmundo · 27/03/2013 14:26

littlemiss .. Good luck at the scan! It is so detailed these days. We were in there about 40 mins.

alex... Glad you are feeling calmer. You will feel better after the scan!

when .. Hope you feel sick today!!

Sat here with the 3 boys watching zhu zHu: the movie. Pile o' shite but it has kept them quiet for an hour! The boss is asleep on my shoulder. I am dreadful about not putting him down. Creating a rod for My own back but I love cuddling him! He is going to be blond and blue eyed like ds1. Ds2 dark haired and eyed (and utterly stunning if I may say so.)

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHopeful · 27/03/2013 21:37

ted Envy at you cuddling your newborn, I have to wait till October (sob) Grin. I did feel a bit sick today, it's always when hungry and eating clears it up straight away.
Not feeling too bad at all, it's worrying me. I just hope it's because I'm on holiday and getting loads of rest and sleep.

I could never put dd down either. She is a crap sleeper but I really couldn't have done it any other way.

littlemiss very exited about your scan.

alex I'm 9 weeks 2 days. Should really be feeling more symptoms than I am but maybe it's just because I'm well rested. When are you having your scan?

MrsBri · 28/03/2013 07:50

When, my sickness was like that too, and always worse when I was tired.

And yes, Alex, pregnancy is generally just worry really. :-/ I'm 28 weeks today and still worry, but now about whether I can feel enough movement! Never-ending.

Good luck for the scan, littlemiss :-)

Hi to anyone I've missed.

Kittenkatzen · 28/03/2013 08:19

Good luck at the scan littlemiss, looking forward to hearing your news!

wing I've been ridiculously lucky on the symptom front the whole way through - only the mildest nausea but no actual throwing up, some lightheadedness and one fainting incident but that's really about it apart from the standard exhaustion. I really did worry for the first few weeks but have felt much better about it since seeing the little wriggling bean at the 12wk scan. Only a couple more weeks to go before you get your onscreen reassurance Smile

Kittenkatzen · 28/03/2013 08:20

when not wing!!! Grin

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHopeful · 28/03/2013 18:28

Grin thanks kitten. You were lucky with the symptoms but I bet you panicked all the way though to your first scan.

The warm glow from the last scan has disappeared and you are right I really want the next one. We have booked in for a private nuchael translucency and I am really worried there will be a problem. Dh thinks I'm bonkers "your 34 not 54."
We found our scan with dd so reassuring (small nuchael fold, nasal bone detected) I'm really hoping for the same this time.

mrsbri feeling the kicks is great but when the kick pattern changes you worry. I had massive but painless braxton hicks from 37 weeks onwards and couldn't feel dd kick at all which was really worrying.
I remember being hooked up to a fetal heart rate monitor, dd's heart rate kept going really high (means she is moving a lot). The midwife kept looking at me saying well you must have felt that - I couldn't feel a damn thing.
I was so relived when she was born at 38 weeks.

kittykatsforever · 28/03/2013 21:06

Good luck tomorrow littlemiss I'm excited to hear about it!!
When my symptoms totally went at 9ish weeks isn't that when the placenta kicks in? Mine were mild anyway but had felt waves of nausea up Untill then. I worried about the nc results as they were 1:8100 as apposed to 1:27,000 with dd1, I'm 34 too, I realise for our age I think it's 1:900 so very good but it wasn't as good as last time and hey we need to have things to stress about all the way through dont we Wink dd2 is such a wriggler my belly is defo like aliens but current stress is she's still breach, wish the mw apps wernt so far apart second timeHmm

MrsBri · 29/03/2013 00:44

When, your post had me heading straight to our scan picture to look for a nasal bone. Then I wasn't sure if it was the bridge or the bone in the nose and panicked! Thankfully got it sorted and all OK :-)

We didn't have the testing, so such things haven't been looked at.

kittykatsforever · 30/03/2013 09:01

Any update little miss xx

LittleMissSnowShine · 30/03/2013 17:01

[busmile][busmile][busmile]

Hi everyone!

Great scan yesterday and we decided in the end to find out gender - another little boy in there! DS (and DH and not to mention the grandads lol) all v excited - I won't deny I was kind of hoping for a girl just to have one of each but as soon as I found out that it was a boy I got v excited about having another one and we went straight to baby gap and spent some vouchers I had left over from DS being a baby to buy new little babygrows and things for the hospital bag!

Hope everyone else is well and having a nice weekend - don't forget clocks go forward tonight, my mum just texted to remind me hee xx

Aww that's great news littlemiss. So good to know its all going well for you.

kittykatsforever · 30/03/2013 21:53

Great news little miss, I think it's quite natural to want one of each but think same sex is great for existing siblings too especially if they are close in age, so that's 3 boys for the grads and only 1 girl?! Kitten looks like you need to even us out!
I feel mahoosive today, in reality think normal ( I actually measure behind) but I'm sure I'm the same size now 31wks as I was when dd was born 37wks! The clothes I was wearing seem tighter now then at the end and I'm so achey in comparison does 18 months really take so much tol and a body?!

LittleMissSnowShine · 31/03/2013 19:00

kitty - I got up comparatively late, made french toast and bacon, took DS (with DH) for a good run round the park and then went to my rents for dinner. In the afternoon I wore LOW heels and a dress. Home half an hour ago and all I want to do is get into my jammies - my back is sore lol And I'm only 21 weeks, slightly dreading all the aches and pains of third tri. Better finish getting house sorted out quickly!

Lol itl get worse, I'm defo waddling and feel broken! I loved my neat little bump last time Hmm

Alexandra6 · 01/04/2013 12:06

Yay littlemiss! Great news all is well.

Decided we might wait until the baby is born to find out the sex (if I can be patient enough!!) Apparently you can write into the birth plan that DH tells you the sex after its born so might do that.

Not sure if I've asked but did anyone else on here have early scans at around 8 weeks, I can't remember? Any advice for or against paying for that privately - are too many ultrasounds bad for baby? Just trying to decide when to have the first scan.

MrsBri · 01/04/2013 12:38

Yes, great news, littlemiss. How exciting! :-)

Alex, we don't know the sex. Good idea about putting that into the birth plan about DH telling me. I'll try to remember that!

And we had a scan at 8 weeks, just for reassurance. It was great to see our little jelly bean with a heartbeat! And puts your mind at ease about pregnancy location etc. Especially if you have the pain from the ovary you ovulated from, which a lot of women do.

Scans don't harm the baby, so you could have as many as you like / can afford!

Alexandra6 · 01/04/2013 13:54

Thanks mrs True to obsessive form, I googled ultrasound being bad for baby and found studies where mice had slight long term damage or something and news reports advising against too many non-medically urgent ultrasound scans - so thought I'd wait. At the same time, could really do with some reassurance. Has anyone else ever heard or worried about early scans being risky or am I really the only crazy and obsessive person out there?

Hope everyone had a lovely Easter, I did, saw family and friends and told my brother he will hopefully be an uncle for the first time.

MrsBri · 01/04/2013 13:58

Alex, I've not heard that one. Just shows that you can find anything on Google!

Hospitals wouldn't do scans if they were harmful. I know people who've had almost double figures in scans on the NHS through the course of a pregnancy for one reason or another.

Just have a scan! :-)

kittykatsforever · 01/04/2013 14:16

Agree with mrs bri, they have no conclusive studies for anything like that and it's only sound waves! I think celebs probably have them once a week and I've had 5 this time with bleeding etc I will have another at 36wks if baby hasn't turned, the reasurance is nice but if you feel you will worry more about it then just wait a couple more wks till the 12wk scan, the only thing I heard was that it could make the baby more likely to be left handed lol where that tit bit came from I have no idea but as a sucsessful lefty I have no problem with it Wink

weechops · 01/04/2013 16:02

Hi everyone I'm peeping round the door for now :) tested today at 10dpo and got a super faint bfp! I'm testing again in the morning ( and every morning for a while) then I might believe it :) fingers crossed this little bean sticks.

Alexandra6 · 01/04/2013 16:07

wee!! Yay!!!! Amazing news Smile I found clear blue digi great as they read a clear positive, remember my first line was so faint and then that confirmed on the same day, I was around 10dpo too.

Woop woop! X

kittykatsforever · 01/04/2013 19:29

Wow wee that's fantastic news!! Is this your first cycle again? Looks like dh home time was timed to perfection again! Fx for darker lines every day

weechops · 02/04/2013 06:54

This was second cycle after mc. Dh was away first cycle then this time he left right after ov so we were really lucky.

But I've just tested again and the line is fainter than yesterday. Do you think that's a bad sign? Or am I worrying over nothing. I wish I didn't get my hopes up so much. I'm so nervous :(

Alexandra6 · 02/04/2013 07:09

Could be your wee is less concentrated? Have you done a clear blue digi yet? Really, really hope it sticks, think it takes a while for the line to get darker though.

How far gone were you with your mc? Glad you've got a BFP so soon after (although I know when ttc or pregnant, time seems to slow down ridiculously!) Hope all goes well this time round.
