Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Alexandra6 · 18/03/2013 20:59

That's what I'm secretly planning kitty after struggling so much I'll be a baby machine given half the chance! (notice I say that pre-childbirth haha)

Thanks when hope I can stay here! Testing yet again tomorrow at 13 dpo, every day that goes past is great right now! Feeling really tired and a bit nauseous, did anyone else get that so early?

Woop so happy to be here! Smile

MsFanackerPants · 19/03/2013 01:50

Got a BFP today after a faint line last night. Still didn't trust my ability to see a line so bought a digital one and yup, I am up duffed. I feel queasy and my boobs are tender as anything. But woah, I'm pregnant...when is it going to feel real?

Alexandra6 · 19/03/2013 07:07

Yay msf (or would you rather be called pants?! Wink) Massive congrats. Was it clear blue digi you used? I've been getting positives on those since Sunday morning Smile Got a bit worried though as used a line one again this morning and it's still really faint at 13 dpo, should it be getting much darker each day?! So anxious about this, woke up at 4am and lay there for an hour thinking!

MrsBri · 19/03/2013 07:28

Alex, it will get darker every few days, not every day, as the hcg levels take time to increase.

I panicked too. It's normal, so don't worry! xx

Congrats pants :-)

Alexandra6 · 19/03/2013 07:35

Thanks mrsbri I really need to stop googling things and try and relax. Just can't believe this is real and could finally happen, but 12 weeks seems ages away yet alone full term!! Think I will pay for a 8/9 week scan like my friend did recently to try and put my mind at rest. Feel like I'm still at the chemical preg worry stage, do you know when I'll be out of that and the chances start getting better? (Promise I won't be this anxious all the time! Wink)

SunshineOutdoors · 19/03/2013 11:05

Hi everyone, sorry I've not been on for a while... this buying and selling a house business is insanely stressful!

Fantastic to hear about the birth of your son ted Congratulations!!

MrsBri · 19/03/2013 12:10

Once you've had the scan and seen a heartbeat then the odds of miscarriage plummet to about 1%.

I can promise you won't stop being anxious though!

The 8 week scan I had was the best 50 quid I've spent! :-)

Kittenkatzen · 19/03/2013 12:12

Arf at mini Bruce Springsteen! :o

Congrats and welcome to alex and msf, nice to have some new faces around! Alex I think kitty and I had previously tied for the Excessive Testing Cup at 9/10ish, but if you're planning to test daily for a fortnight then I will humbly step aside and hand you the crown now! :o

Very Envy of everyone feeling kicks and flutters, really hope I get to feel something soon!

kittykatsforever · 19/03/2013 13:48

Where are you up to kitten and sunshine??
Welcome mrsf and congrats to you
Yes maybe try to limit yourself to every other day Alex especially if your using digis too, I'd wait the full week between them as you may find instead of it being reasurring your thinking shouldn't it be 2-3 now etc and panic you more

Kittenkatzen · 19/03/2013 14:38

14+5 today for me. Time is dragging again......have got 16wk check up next Thursday though :)

Alexandra6 · 19/03/2013 16:39

Argh help, am on my third pregnancy test today!! Have done my two fave brands, clear blue and first response, both still pregnant. It's just the crappy Boots ones that I'm still barely getting a line on, can hardly see anything. I'm close to my mum and she has made me promise I won't test until Thurs now!

Kittenkatzen · 19/03/2013 18:40

alex I actually never got a proper clear no-denying-it BFP using my internet cheapies so try not to fret about it. You were pregnant this morning, you're still pregnant now! Grin

LittleMissSnowShine · 19/03/2013 20:48

Congrats alex - I only got waivery bfps using clear blue when I tested first a couple of days early and still faint when I tested when af should have been due. I stopped testing tho and did a digi a week later so I got to see the three weeks plus since conception thing which gave me a better boost than lots of pinkish, purplish, fainter, stronger lines lol I'm nearly 20 weeks and feeling fluttery kicks and I still somehow keep forgetting I'm actually pg and not just tired with a really long lasting tummy bug!!!

Hope everyone is well :) finally bought and flicked thru pg magazine today - now I can feel baby moving about in there starting to get a bit more excited! Tho waiting til after big scan next week before I properly start feeling baby crazy - tho I suspect toddler potty training over Easter will keep my mind busy anyway lol

Ah exciting littlemiss Smile

Did anyone have any blood tests or checks or anything before your first proper scans? An worried about hormones, esp because of my clomid/PCOS, so wondering if I should push for checks in case I need progesterone injections or anything?

Alexandra6 · 20/03/2013 07:43

Ps managed to not to my first thing POAS today! Trying to last until tomorrow Smile

kittykatsforever · 20/03/2013 08:09

Well done Alex, just 1 day to go Wink
No it's not regular to have bloods or anything checked before scan unless you have symptoms of something being wrong I.e bleeding, Even if you've had miscarriages its not regular to have tests Untill you've had 3, try to sit tight and not worry, there's no reason there should be anything wrong with your levels just because of that although littlemiss knows more about pcos, anxiety is basically the most thriving pregnancy symptom in the first tri in my opinion, you worry about everything but really at this point there's not much you can do to change any outcome except hope for the best and take your vits

tedmundo · 20/03/2013 11:14

Congrats to alex and pants on your bfps. alex .. Step slowly away from the hpts .. And breathe ... You are pregnant! You should find a private scan clinic to reassure you, it was the best £70 ever spent in my opinion. If you can last until week 9, I read that a heartbeat at that stage meant mc was very very unlikely.

Mini Bruce would say hello to you all if he ever came off the booby for long enough. Man, the boss can eat! He is on formula top ups too. He is one hungry, hungry baby. The nips are slowly recovering .. Bits fell off! Nice.

I am trying to drink him in as this truly is the last one this time and yesterday I cried as he does not have that newborn look so much anymore. I want to freeze time.

Alexandra6 · 20/03/2013 11:30

Awwww ted enjoy every minute. Bought a tear to my eye what you said about trying to drink him in (am ridiculously emotional at the moment!)

Just read a terrifying stat online about mc at this stage...and now want to POAS again. argh! My pile of sticks is rapidly growing!!

Also, I've cancelled a night out I had coming up which I had tickets for and I'm also going to cancel me going on a hen do in a couple of weeks as it's in Barcelona and will be really boozy so anxious about going. At the same time worried about upsetting people by not going to things like that. Am I being rubbish and too cautious or was everyone like this?!?

MrsBri · 20/03/2013 11:54

Ahhh, Alex, worrying about mc is totally normal, but you don't need to cancel trips or nights out.

I went to Iceland at 4 weeks' pregnant and did a fair amount of walking and sliding along ice! While I was concerned at the time, I was fine. As was baby :-)

But you need to do what you're comfortable with, ultimately.

I'm still anxious too. I think this is life now! But I try to put it into perspective and not worry too much or unduly.

POAS is very expensive...you need to calm that habit!!

SunshineOutdoors · 20/03/2013 12:39

Hi, 20 weeks today I can't believe it. Found out at 20 week scan it's going to be a boy. So need to get rid of all dd's old clothes I've been saving for number 2!

kittykatsforever · 20/03/2013 12:54

Oh sunshine congratulations, that's such fabulous news a healthy little boy, more expence but atleast you have time to sort before ds1 gets here!!
Alex I think mrs bri advice is very sound, I went to Egypt at 6 wks for a week and a hen do at 11, there's no point going if it makes you feel uncomfortable but it won't alter anything, I just told the hen and a few others why I wasn't drinking and no one else noticed, also try try not to read anything up on mc etc, there really is no point and whatever the stats are have no indication of what will happen or not, likewise the pee sticks, a yes will not stop it happenening and truthfully can't tell you if things will go wrong or not, I had 2 mc before this pregnancy and know the anxiety but learnt the best way is to try and put it out of your mind as best possible and enjoy the fact you are pregnant now, you've waited along time so try not to taint the experience with such worry, if it goes wrong there really is nothing you can do or did so just enjoy the fact at the minute the signs are good and you have a little bean relying on your positive thoughts, the net is not your friend at this point, ignorance is bliss Grin

MrsBri · 20/03/2013 12:57

Ooh...huge congrats Sunshine! :-)

Alexandra6 · 20/03/2013 13:00

Thanks so much kitty brilliant advice.

Yay sunshine so you'll have one of each? Glad your scan went well

Kittenkatzen · 20/03/2013 13:06

Aww ted bless you and the little boss :) I cried last night too.....because I was tired and didn't know what i wanted for dinner! Confused

SunshineOutdoors · 20/03/2013 13:07

Thanks everyone! Hi Alexandra I know it's difficult but please try not to worry. I mean this in the nicest possible way but if it's meant to work out it will and if it isn't it won't. I don't think there's much you can do that will have an effect either way. Please enjoy each moment, you have got a bfp and that's lovely and amazing! But do talk here about feeling anxious because that could help you feel a bit better. I think all of us here are in the situation that it all feels too good to be true Smile
