New thread as the other one is nearly full Xmas Shock!

Our next baby should be pmgkt's, but I won't if any little cheeky monkey will sneak in before Thursday?

Congrats Disco!

Well after another sleepless night I got seen at the hospital this morning and have been booked in for a section on Tuesday if nothing has happened by then. I'll be 41+6.
Still no sign of baby wanting to exit and I only got 3hrs sleep last night :(
At least I now have a date when I will get to meet him so I feel much better!
:)

ChutesTooNarrow · 16/01/2013 11:32

I'm glad you have a section date sorted octanegirl that must be a relief.

I think I'm in labour. Woke at half five to some blood loss (which is how last labour started) and started getting period type pains. By eight they were five mins apart but since then they are a bit erratic, currently about eight mins apart. So a bit Confused atm but have pool up and half filled and will see what happens.

bealos · 16/01/2013 11:40

good luck chutes

Well done octane on getting a c-section, hope that puts your mind at rest.

And congrats disco (am I wrong to have thought, ooh "Disco" that's quite a cool name for a baby?! Blame the hormones...)

godzookey · 16/01/2013 12:09

good luck chutes

I am getting seriously bored now... just channel surfing mindlessly today and eating ice cream!!

Cejay8 · 16/01/2013 12:36

Hi everyone, I'm 40 + 4 now - this waiting game is really tough! I had DS at 40 + 6 though, but thought this one would come earlier for some reason. Just been for some reflexology which was lovely. I'd really like a home birth this time so feel like the pressure is on if that makes sense! Congratulations to all those that have arrived; I love checking back to see what news you all have Smile

bealos · 16/01/2013 13:02

I'm aiming for 42 weeks, so if baby comes sooner than that - what a bonus!

Hosting a homebirth meetup at my house this afternoon. No-one here yet. Wonder if it'll be just me and my cup of tea. Expect people might be a bit slow, waddling there way here :)

SpringFlowers · 16/01/2013 13:47

Good luck Chutes. I'm bored of waiting too - my other three children were all born by 39+6 and I'm 39+5 today. I just assumed I'd have the baby by now. I'm having lots of contractions and backache, they just never develop. Some of the contractions have been quite ouch!

I'm glad you got your section sorted Octane. I expect now that you have a date and are happy with it you'll go into labour Smile.

SilverSixpence · 16/01/2013 14:20

Djvesi I'm really impressed at 3 pairs in a week! Is that baby size or adult?

salt1 · 16/01/2013 14:45

i have done nothing today apart from swim and eat a bag of donuts...

djvesi · 16/01/2013 15:03

Silver one for me, one for DS, which turned out to be too small so will now be for the new arrival in a bout a year, and one for DS, two sizes bigger (3 year old almost). Next is DH. Good wool socks are a real commodity here in snowy Helsinki.

I just walked a km to collect DS from daycare and pulled him home on the sled in the snow. Still no action. I fear it will be a CS well after my due date Sad, although to be fair, I'm equally scared of natural birth or surgery. Just looking forward to the bit afterwards Smile

SpringFlowers · 16/01/2013 16:53

Dhvesi - there's no need to be scared. Both are ok. I've had three babies, all normal deliveries. It does hurt, but not for long and you forget really quickly. Recovery is definatly quicker the less drugs you have in my experience but that's nothing to be worried about right now either. You will be fine either way.

djvesi · 16/01/2013 18:59

That's good to hear Spring, my first was emergency CS and resembled crucifixion. The epi didn't work. Real nightmare. I hope I get to at least try for natural this time. I've been given these hypno CD things.

woody2313 · 16/01/2013 19:05

Ok so baby Woody is teasing me again... Had a proper show this morning (pink discharge this time (sorry if TMI)) then nothing since... until I was just climbing into the bath when a trickle of clear liquid suddenly escaped (it didn't feel like I needed a wee)... I quickly grabbed some and smelt it (again sorry if TMI) and it didn't smell or look like urine... So what do we think? Worth getting excited about? I've had some movement today but not anything like a contraction. I guess it's a case of watch this space...Confused

Bunny222 · 16/01/2013 22:49

woody that is exciting, keep us posted.

tugs and strawberry am trying those excercises to get bump moved but find in no time he is back on the right hand side, so frustrating!

Good luck to all those waiting... really feel my patience is being tested!

SpringFlowers · 17/01/2013 05:31

A very quick update with more to follow later...our baby boy was born at 10.11 pm yesterday (16th). He is just lovely Smile

SpringFlowers · 17/01/2013 05:34

Woody - if it is your waters they will keep leaking so you should wear a pad. You should also call your hospital as they will want to check to see if it was water as there will be a set period of time before which you'll be induced.

woody2313 · 17/01/2013 09:07

Thanks Spring. Have spoken to the hospital twice this morning (after a horrendous night's sleep Angry) but there doesn't seem to be any more water so it's just a case of sitting tight for now. Baby's obviously not read to come yet, just likes to tease its mum and dad!

woody2313 · 17/01/2013 09:09

PS. Congratulations on your new arrival Spring - will look forward to hearing all about your new arrival soon Smile

lollipoppi · 17/01/2013 09:43

Hi ladies, had my MW appt yesterday and baby's heartbeat kept dipping, was in hosp all day for monitoring and it seems when baby is awake all is ok 130-145 bpm but when its asleep it dips to 100-115bpm got to go back tomorrow morning for another trace, did not get a winks sleep last night with worry, I'm due on Sunday, i just want baby out where I know it's safe! Sad

SilverSixpence · 17/01/2013 09:55

Congratulations spring Smile

Had quite a bit of bloodstained discharge today not sure if it could be waters breaking? It was straight after DTD which set off my labour last time. I've got a mw appt at 3 so will wait and see what happens

bealos · 17/01/2013 10:09

lollipoppi sorry to hear you've had to be strapped to a monitor. Hope it's not to stressful. It sounds like a normal thing for humans (babies included!) to have a faster heartrate when awake and slower when sleeping?

Tugstonia · 17/01/2013 10:19

Congrats Spring!

Woody hope you're ok, it's horrible not sleeping. I've had a few episodes of what I thought was my waters before but mw always says if it is the waters it wouldn't stop, it would keep coming out and would fill a maternity pad or more, so could well just be wee. Good to get it checked though.

Lollipoppi hope you're ok too, that sounds v stressful. When I was being monitored the other day the heartrate varied from 108 to 160 and the doctor said it was normal - rate is slower when baby's sleeping and rises when awake/active. I know what you mean about wanting baby out now though. My due day is tomorrow and I'm getting quite obsessed with monitoring movements. Am seeing midwife at 1.30pm today so hoping she'll reassure me.

bealos · 17/01/2013 10:44

woody good luck... sounds like you are nearly there.

I made my partner check my pad of loo roll last night "Do you think this is pink? Or more yellow? Orangey? Hmm". I think we all had to agree it was wee. Blush

eagleray · 17/01/2013 10:44

Congratulations Spring - fantastic news!!

Lollipoppi - sorry you have this stress. I'm due tomorrow and ended up in hospital yesterday with raised BP and heart rates (mine and baby's). Turns out it was probably stress related as had been very upset about something just before I saw MW. Anyway it was all back to normal when I was on the monitor, but it's very worrying when they say there's a problem. I hope tomorrow's monitoring goes ok - will keep my fingers crossed for you
