New thread as the other one is nearly full Xmas Shock!

Our next baby should be pmgkt's, but I won't if any little cheeky monkey will sneak in before Thursday?

Congrats marasme, apples and complicated. More gorgeous names!

complicated so glad everything is ok after all your scan worry too :)

Hope everyone else is ok - looking forward to more baby news!

Lora1982 · 02/01/2013 15:47

Congrats all :-D apples im dissapointed to hear you still have heartburn... In fact my words were ffs!! When will it go?!?!?

Just had mum round bless her she wanted to do the hoovering and vax... To make a good impression for mw.

As much as i want the baby out now im prepared to wait til my tooth pains gone. No signs of either yet though :'(

Lostbobbles · 02/01/2013 17:22

Wow lots of action, congrats Apples and Complicated, loving the names.

Apples can you come and cough my baby out as well ;-)

Good work on the dental front Lora, hope the pain is subsiding.

Hey Hormonal / EDD buddy, wonder who will be first to pop? my DD came at 38 weeks but don't feel like this one is ready yet (famous last words)

I gave into the heartburn/ reflux a few weeks ago and demanded omeprazole, has been bliss ever since. TMI Alert - Now need to do something on the other end, never mind grapes, my piles must resemble a turnip plantation!! So far doc has only given laxatives and cream which is doing nothing. Hey ho all add's to the glamour I guess.

Just got back from panto, making most of time with DD and DH's last day off work. (As you can imagine he was thrilled, haha)

Lostbobbles · 02/01/2013 17:30

Sorry Marasme, big congrats to you too. (thought i had already posted).

So who's going to be tuning into channel 4 at 9pm tonight? (can't help but put myself through it)

Birdiesinthesnow · 02/01/2013 17:47

lora can I just offer big sympathies for the wisdom tooth pain - I've has it a few times before and it's awful. Though if you can manage that pain then labour will be a doddle!

bealos · 02/01/2013 18:25

Doing some birth pool testing! Took about 20 minutes to inflate, then an hour to fill... The 7 year old is very very excited! I think he sees it as a combination bouncy castle and giant paddling pool.

allchik · 02/01/2013 18:33

I will be watching OBEM lost its filmed at the LGI which is where im having my baby!
Bit cross with myself, forgot to get organised n attene the waterbirth eve class,me n hub were going to go tonight but its been cancelled, nxt one nxt wed...cutting it fine as due on the 6th!! MW said they may use attendance at the classes to decide priority if baths r getting full :( gutted!

HUGE congrats to all the new mums! X

AppleCrumples · 02/01/2013 18:43

Lora the heartburn is getting better now im eating again. Troubke was delivery was so quick and such a shock it took a while for my stomach to catch up!

Lost it might sound easy but was uncontrolled and led to a good few stitches. My last labour (2days) was easier, this was way too intense!

I realky dont think i can watch 1 born...

Dcs are obsessed wity ivy. Ds2 announces everything she does and i have a waiting audience everytime i try to feedher and the questions are endless

Lostbobbles · 02/01/2013 19:24

Ouch Apples, really sorry to hear that (and for silly joke). Wish you speedy and non problematic recovery. Xx That's one of my worst fear's, have heard so many horror stories.

Really do think i got away easy with the c-sec last time, I recovered quickly. Just feel i should give the vbac a go, due to having DD and getting life back on track quicker in terms of driving for school run/activities etc.

Lovely to hear about your other DC's reaction's to Ivy, must bring tears to your eyes to watch.

Allchik, will now be watching OBEM and thinking of you. I was born in the Princess Anne Southampton, where they filmed the first series. Shame about water birth situ, keep your legs crossed until next week. Although surely they should give the pool's on first come, first served basis.

AppleCrumples · 02/01/2013 19:50

Lost no need to be sorry until this happened i would say exactly the same! She wanted to come and no one was going to stop her...fully expect this tiny person to rule the roost!

Hope you get your vbac and a sensible baby!

Allchik im surprised they arent first come first served seems fairer. Enjoy obem i really dont think i coukd cope with watching that right now! X

happyhow · 02/01/2013 20:04

I'll be watching OBEM. Might as well since I'm sitting in hospital anyway!

Got a bit excited earlier as was having quite regular tightenings and funny tickly feelings in my cervix/fanjo but they pretty much stopped once the midwife came to check them. Only had a couple since. She didn't do an internal though so no idea if I'm any further forward. Hmm

Apples, it must be lovely that your boys are so interested in Ivy. At least they are adjusting well initially.

MamaMary · 02/01/2013 20:24

Apple lovely to hear your birth story and well done for surviving the syntocynon with no epidural. I'm glad Ivy's brothers and sister are doting on her. I'm sure they can help a little, at least with fetching and carrying stuff when feeding.

Well, famous last words on my last post - when I said I was hoping this baby would stay put and allow me a few weeks with just DD. At my appointment today my BP was up and the baby hadn't grown since two weeks ago. So I am to go in tomorrow night to be induced on Friday Shock

All a bit sudden, but not entirely unexpected as DD was two weeks early. This one will be three weeks before due date. I had hoped for a later date in January as I have a thing about birthdays too close to Christmas, but never mind: as long as I get a safe delivery and baby is okay I'll be happy.

happy I hope things kick off for you soon.

complicated congratulations on the birth of Henry John - small but perfect!

octanegirl · 02/01/2013 21:50

I feel a bit lonely. DP has gone back up to London so I'm on my tod now till Friday. He's keeping his phone on in case things start happening but it's not the same as having company.... :(

Hormonalhell · 02/01/2013 22:30

Allchik me too at LGI !! Smile

I recognised some of the midwives I've been in and out that often this pregnancy Hmm

Hormonalhell · 02/01/2013 22:35

Lostbobbles my DD came at 34 and DS came at 37 and have been in hosp 4 times, had steroids with this one so everybody amazed I'm still waiting!!

Mind you, this one has a different dad and he's a lazy git too Hmm

PixelCarrier · 03/01/2013 05:29

Congratulations marasme, complicated and apple.

Hope the induction goes ok mama.

I'm now 38+4, and really hoping the little one stays there for a bit as I could do with a week or two to get sorted after the Christmas chaos!

Lostbobbles · 03/01/2013 07:42

Morning ladies

Octane hope you are feeling better this morning, only one more day and DP will be home Smile

My DH starts new job today and was told to bring his passport so they can start booking his flights. So I have lovely prospect of being on my own with newborn and DD ??Angry. He has at least already told them he wont ravel until after the birth!! but hope he can convince them to leave it until early feb.

Hormonal Lol at dad comment made me chuckle. But sorry to hear troubles you have had.

Hope you all have a good day, I'm sat debating yoga class and have MW appoint.

glorious · 03/01/2013 10:32

hi all

Wow, baby boom! And so many girls! Many congrats to AriNi, Bunty,
Sanam, Birdies, Marasme, Apple, and Complicated. Lovely names as well, you ladies have great taste.

Don't know what I'm having but I've had a feeling all along that it's a boy, so perhaps I'll even out the statistics...

Octane hope you have a good day and then your DP will be home soon.

Sorry about your DH's travel lostbobbles, that sounds like a real pain. Fingers crossed they will be sympathetic.

Tugs could you recommend me an acupuncturist in South East or Central London? I'd definitely give it a go in a couple of weeks time if things don't seem to be progressing on their own, but obviously want to make sure I find someone good...

happyhow · 03/01/2013 11:33

Why do doctors give such conflicting advice?! It's SO bloody annoying!! Angry The consultant who came in this morning says I might get home tomorrow and she wants me to go into labour naturally if baby stays in my pelvis. Whilst that is fine, when you've been told you def won't be going past your due date and you get in your head that your going to have a baby in the next week, it's a bit if a let down... If I do go home, I'll have a scan and an appointment on Monday with the original consultant to discuss everything. I'm kind of hoping that she does the rounds tomorrow though as we thought she was doing them today. I'm also a bit surprised that no one has done another internal exam when I was 1-2cm on Monday without knowing about it - think I might ask one of the midwives to do it though.

That's a shame about your DH having to travel, Lost. Hopefully they'll be nice and allow him to put it off for a little while.

eagleray · 03/01/2013 11:46

Sorry you are feeling lonely Octane - am in the same position as you as DP is away during the week at work, and is not back til Friday eve (or maybe even Sat). I'm normally not that bothered, but as it's getting close to due date I do have the odd moment of panic! If it's any consolation, as we are on first babies, there should be plenty of time to summons the men back when things get going...

I had my MW visit for HB yesterday - all went well, but made me realise the birth is imminent and there is still so much to do (and things to buy!). Have ordered some things in the post way too late (pool, pool thermometer, pool liner, car seat) and so think I will be spending the next few days parked up by the front door waiting for deliveries...

Feeling a bit odd today - slept badly, BH as soon as I got out of bed, and some nausea. Am hoping it doesn't mean anything as still got tons to do (although don't want to go overdue either!)

Congratulations to Complicated and Apples! What a way to start the new year!

djvesi · 03/01/2013 12:31

OK, this is probably a really silly question. DH is back to work next week and DS to daycare, so I'll be home alone. If I go into labour during the day, is it possible to drive myself to the emergency? Should I get a cab? Do I call DH home and then go in with him? Or call an ambulance?

Given DS was an emergency CS at 34wks, the whole concept of rushing to hospital in labour is very new to me! What are you all planning on doing in this kind of scenario?

ChutesTooNarrow · 03/01/2013 13:15

How long would it take DH to get home from work djvesi? If not too long then I would wait and he can take you, if not I would call a cab and he can meet you there. I couldn't imagine driving with contractions, as I had to bounce around like a demented kangaroo through each one. Also I think my last labour counts as shortish for a first time - 7 hours - but there was still two hours of faffing at home before I made it to hospital.

I haven't really watched OBEM since the first series, which as lostbobbles said was filmed at Southampton. I actually gave birth to DS there whilst they were filming, and was approached to take part Shock obviously my response was HECK NO, I can't think of anything worse!

djvesi · 03/01/2013 14:43

Hey chutes, he reckons it would be about 30-40 mins give or take to get home. Its about the same to the hospital for him and about 30 mins drive from our place to the hospital. We're well triangulated.

I'm a bit worried that I might mess a taxi up to be honest. I'd probably want to take a stack of towels to sit on right? Hmm I really hope it starts when he's at home.

Lora1982 · 03/01/2013 15:19

Dj i think youl know its going to kick off id have a taxi number on stanfby though as its your second ppl say labours a bit quicker dont they?

Im a bit gutted. Baby is no further engaged than two weeks ago 4/5ths foes that mean one fifth in place ready or four? Anyway shes booked me a sweep next thurs. I was hopinng it was a good sign that it was the same mw i had at booking in i hadnt seen her since but no :-(

salt1 · 03/01/2013 15:22

djvesi & chutes this is so interesting as it is something i have not at all considered, and genuinely thought it would all happen when dh would be with me. my understanding is to go to hospital when contractions are 5 mins apart, but i am guessing it could take a while to get to that point?
